I’ve struggled with pregnancy loss awareness week for years as I had an unwanted abortion at a young age (appreciate not the same as a loss but still difficult) which sent me into a mental breakdown and I always felt so much guilt and shame when I saw stories of poor mothers who have lost their babies. Even now I convince myself I’ll somehow be punished for what happened in the past. This pregnancy wasn’t planned and my life is far from organised but I could never put myself through an abortion ever again and this baby is sooo wanted and will be loved to the end of the earth but these negative thoughts do still linger. I’m trying my best to be kind to myself x

Hey guys! Had a little excitement tonight! Woke up from a nap and went to the bathroom, wiped and realised that I had lost my mucus plug!

Decided to go to the hospital and they put wireless monitors on me to check her out. Turns out she’s fine and I’m not in labour but it was definitely exciting as the possibility I could have had her! Got a scheduled c section on Friday so soon! x

Some days are just proper shit aren’t they.
We’re safe in hospital but things took a turn for the worst before and I was alone cos of visiting hours.
I don’t even know where I’m going with this, but I put a brave face on in front of my fella cos I could tell he was scared and now I’m lay in this bed again crying in the dark. Just don’t ever feel guilty for having a bad day when people have no idea how hard it is to grow a human and be the one who’s put through everything, and anyone that’s done this more than once I owe you a f*cking drink! ❤

Hi ladies, I’ve been a bit quiet on this thread as have a lot on my plate atm. My 3 year old has been constantly ill since September and is struggling at preschool so feel like I have no energy or time to think about this baby. I’m in that lull period between 20-30 weeks where it’s just kinda plodding along I guess. Feel a bit overwhelmed by all the organising and things I have to do, and had a bit of a wobble about giving birth again.
I had my 26 week midwife appt yesterday but couldn’t really talk as I had to bring my daughter with me as let down for childcare so couldn’t talk about how I feel. I did get a bit teary and she suggested referring to the mental health team. But I feel like my anxiety is very baby/pregnancy specific. When I had my first I referred myself to them but they discharged me as said it’s just usual baby bonding stuff etc. I have my next midwife appt soon so I’ll speak to her again then and hopefully get it off my chest.
Good luck to all the ladies nearing full term, and those due to give birth ❤

Joining this thread again! We recently found out number 2 is on the way - due June 2023. Our little girl is only 6.5 months so sleep and sanity is going straight out the window but I can't wait.

I can’t sleep. I’m so stressed as the time is drawing closer, babies dad is refusing to come to the birth and my hospital is 80 miles away I have no idea how I’m going to get there and I know I’ll be alone (obviously apart from health staff) feel beyond terrified and jealous of anyone who has a supportive partner and doesn’t need to worry about this 😔💔

I’ve had to come home from work as I’m an emotional mess 😭 I have my reassurance scan tomorrow but my symptoms have stopped over the weekend and now I can’t stop crying. I’m terrified of losing this baby and the thought of having to start all over again is making me feel so ill. Not sure what the point of this post is.. I’m not a religious person but I keep praying that there will be a heartbeat tomorrow

Just ticked the full term box! 39 weeks and ready for baby to make an appearance. I’m so hormonal it’s ridiculous I feel like I could cry at the drop of a hat. Everyone is driving me insane and I just want to tell them all to fuck off and leave me alone!

I was only speaking to my OH this morning about it. Two of my friends who I have been there through pregnancy losses are posting non stop this week about it. One has not once asked me how I am. I’m not anxious and have been generally calm through out my pregnancy so I’m not triggered by the posts. I do question why I’m not allowed be happy in my pregnancy (iv posted nothing on my socials and pretty much kept it on a need to know basis) but these people feel it’s ok to share and re share stories. Each to their own I get that but I feel the most triggering thing about these posts are that people who have suffered a loss in the past and are currently pregnant are now seeing these day in day out. Tldr - they are triggering to the very people they are about

Woke in the middle of the night with anxiety hoping everything will be OK with my pregnancy. I'm only 6 and a half weeks so it's still early days... please tell me I'm not the only one who worries about stuff like this 🤦‍♀️ it's mad how much love you feel for them already even at this really early stage x

Had my 12 week dating scan today! BabyLuisa is very lazy and uncooperative though so she was unable to properly date and do all the nuchal testing stuff. 🙄 Three tries plus sugar and cold stuff wasn’t even enough lol! Hope it continues to be this lazy when it’s earth side! Was lovely to see it looking like a baby rather than a fish and we heard the heartbeat. 😍😍 little fingers and toes too 😍😍😍

Same ❤ I hope her and baby TTC are okay x
Thank you so much ladies. I’d love to have an update for you but it’s been a bit of an emotional rollercoaster today.

The night shift doctor made the call that I was to be induced due to the kidney function deteriorating.

A completely new doctor on the morning shift decided that she didn’t want me induced after I waited all afternoon on her to come see me. Her opinion which I’m in agreement with is that my levels aren’t at danger point just yet so buying a few days is well worth it. However, todays tests have shown that the kidney function is still deteriorating so I’m now being monitored day by day.

They took me off one of the BP medicines to trial how I’d get on and my BP is back on the rise and now my neck swelling is back which is causing me to struggle to breathe so it will be interesting to see what tomorrows tests bring.

It’s been frustrating because I’ve had 5 different doctors all providing an opinion so I’m a bit like what now? Will there be a different doctor tomorrow morning with a different opinion? It’s mad because if I had last nights doctor on this mornings shift I’d be going through the induction process or potentially be in Labour by now!

Grateful for the extra days with this little baby growing safely inside me! Thanks so much, really appreciate your thoughts ❤❤❤ Xxx

I had another growth scan today. She's grown and gone up on the centiles again, but my consultant isn't happy. She's booked me in for another growth scan in 2 weeks, and if she drops down again we'll be looking to deliver a couple of days later. So I could only have a couple of weeks left instead of 5 😱😱😱😱

There's still no explanation why her growth has been so erratic. The placenta looks healthy, the fluid levels are fine, my blood pressure and urine are good, and she's moving fine. My consultant admitted she's stumped about what's going off.

In other news, I've got my section date booked, obviously based on my next growth scan being OK. 🎉🎉🎉 My consultant was very supportive of my decision. It was scary going through the risks, but most of them relate to future pregnancies, and I've already decided there won't be any more 😂😂😂

I had my 12 week scan today and all was well 😊 we'd been preparing for the worst and trying not to get our hopes up, so seeing a little baby wriggling away and turning round while she tried to do all the checks was absolutely incredible ❤ I had no idea they were so active so early!

Now we've just got the 72 hour wait in case the screening shows any high risks, and all being well if we don't hear anything in that timeframe then we can finally relax a bit and start telling people!

Thank you again for all being so supportive and kind, I mostly lurk but it's so reassuring to read all your advice and know I'm not alone ❤

So I've decided to take mat leave a bit earlier than I originally planned. My job is stressful and we are stupidly short staffed and pregnancy hasn't been easy so far for me.

Why does everyone then have an opinion that your taking it too soon blah blah. Why does everyone need an opinion??

I will savour the extra few weeks to see family and get everything ready and most of all relax!! It's such a personal thing I don't get why everyone has to tell you what they think!
As soon as people know you're pregnant, from then on, for the rest of your life, people will be vocal about their opinions.
For some reason, having kids seems to make people think they're entitled to judge you and be vocal about it!
And you're certainly not allowed to enjoy any part of it and talk about it. Because all you get met with is "well just wait until..."
Happens when you say anything negative though too really. "You think it's bad now, just wait until..."
