Hi everyone, I’m 25 weeks pregnant and have just had my midwife appointment. She said that from 28 weeks I should be working from home because I’d be high risk, I can’t do that as I’m a support worker. Has anyone else has this? What did your employer say? Thanks all
I believe its government guidelines currently to allow working from home from 28 weeks.
Either way, your work have to risk assess you by law

Got a lotttt of lower back pain this morning. 15 weeks tomorrow. Anybody else had this?
I had low back pain around this time and later into 2nd trimester. I thought of it as ligaments stretching etc as uterus enlarged, not sure if that’s the case but it felt very musculoskeletal

It’s horrendous I already have a nearly 5 year old and 9 year old so trying to ‘homeschool’ (if I can even call it that) is hell 😆 I’m awaiting a scan on kidneys as doctors think this could be the issue. But, like you I suffered before being pregnant. Pregnancy has just worsened the symptoms I think! Hope you’re ok x
Thanks for your reply I have been to the doctors tonight and I have a pelvic syndrome which apparently I will just have until I give birth and I have to have physio 😟 I can’t spell the medical term but I agree it’s unpleasant. I hope you are ok too I’m buying a pregnancy pillow now see if this helps x I don’t envy you having to home school at least it is now there is date for children to go back to school xx

I should be 8+5 today but had a scan earlier as was feeling anxious and there was no heartbeat, baby stopped growing at 6 weeks. I will need to call my doctors in the morning to be referred to EPU, does anyone have any experience of this? I’ve had no bleeding or cramping yet. :(

Wishing everyone happy and healthy pregnancies and hopefully it will happen again for us soon.
So sorry to hear ❤

I don't have any experience with a missed miscarriage myself but I went through it all with my Sister In Law, although it was around 5 years ago.
They gave her a pessary and then some medication and she passed it naturally.
Not sure how they do it with Covid though. From what I've seen, they send you home with the medication ❤

Sorry if that doesn't help ❤

I just expressed my first colostrum! 0.5ml woohoo 🥳
That's great! Silly question perhaps but do you just store it in the freezer in the syringe and then take it with you to hospital when you give birth? And then feed baby directly from the syringe when needed? (after letting it defrost obv).

To all those talking about PGP, I'm 21 weeks and not sure if what I'm feeling is PGP. My general pelvic/abdomen/hip area feels like I've been doing intense core workouts (I haven't) combined with the sensation of someone pressing on a permanently full bladder. Also my legs are quite sore too. It's hard to turn over and get out of bed but once I start moving eg. go for a walk I feel OK apart from a heavy sensation in my pelvis which I assume is normal now. Does this sound like PGP? I'm a bit concerned about the bladder feeling so will give a urine sample to my GP tomorrow in case it's a UTI.

So sorry to read this 🙁💔 yes this has happened to me but at my 12 week scan and baby stopped growing at 9 weeks. I stayed in hospital for a night and have pesaries inserted to move the mc along, as I didn’t want to wait it out, I was told it could take a few weeks naturally
Sorry to hear you’ve been through this too. It’s awful but I’m glad I’ve found out now and not at the 12 week scan. I also don’t want to wait it out, but I will see what they say. ❤

Thank you ❤ Yes that’s true, covid might affect things. I’ll see what they say. Thanks xx

Sensitive subject but for those who have had miscarriages, is the pain a similar type of pain to labour? Not in intensity/severity but I mean in terms of the type or quality of pain? People talk about early labour pain as being like period pains but I haven’t had painful periods for 10-15 years and until last year hadn’t had a period for 7 years due to the coil so I can barely remember what period pains feel like. Had a 7w miscarriage last year and remember the pain from that so wondering if there is any similarity there
My miscarriage was like very bad period pains. Which is what the start of labour was like for me. But it gets worse 🙈

Bit random but can I ask if anyone else is struggling to drink enough? I'm 18 weeks and am trying really hard to drink enough water but I'm just really not that thirsty. The morning is better but by the late afternoon, its clear when I go to the toilet (sorry if TMI) that I haven't drunk enough. Feel like I'm constantly sipping and am fed up of drinking or having a bottle of water attached to me all the time!
Yeah I'm 18 weeks and the same. Think it's contributing to my headaches too

Ive had the same from about 35 weeks and I’m up every hr in the night to pee and literally a trickle comes out lol. I think it’s more pressure from her head than anything. I had a scan last week though and she wasn’t engaged yet but dr said her head was sitting very low can feel pressure etc when I’m walking as well
I had a scan on Friday but didn’t ask about the head being engaged (and as per usual nobody told me).

This sounds grim but does it feel like your bone down there is hurting if no could be what I have pelvic pain xx
It feels like it's in my top thigh and pelvic area like really bruised and achey, doesn't hurt all day just in the evenings if I've been say down for a while, was tempted to get the exercise ball down from the loft but not sure if I can use it as I'm only 20 weeks 🙈 xx

I work in a fast food restaurant I had a risk assessment done, but there was no mention of having to leave at 28 weeks. I don’t have the option to work from home either I worked till 34 weeks. I did reduce shifts though to 3 days a week, that was my own choice but didn’t leave until 34 weeks

I’m not sure on this, I think it would depend what the reason is that’s on it now and what they want you to get it changed to?
My manager said to use a common pregnancy reason so I asked the Dr to use hip pain (genuinely not lying because my hips are so sore and uncomfy when I'm standing or sitting too long) but he's told me to get it amended to anxiety. I'm just not sure if my GP will or not because technically I should be signed off work via them and not the GP due to the current guidance 😩
