When do people start buying stuff? I’m 15 weeks with my first and feel the need to buy something cute....

Wait until 20 week scan?
We didn’t really start buying anything until after the 20 week scan. The only thing I got at about 18 weeks was my pram/travel system/bundle as it was on sale but nothing else until after the 20 week scan. I’m glad I got my pram early with us constantly going in and out of lockdowns here. My husband wanted to leave it till after Christmas to get the pram etc but I’m glad we didn’t cause you can’t get in atm to look at or try anything out. We got ours from Samuel Johnston and their doing collections and deliveries but the showroom isn’t open and I would defiantly advise trying a travel system out before buying one even if you try a few out once everywhere opens again and then you can always order online once you know what you want

try not to worry about any of it, some people are just soo lucky and their symptoms pass earlier than others it doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong. Wait a week and you’ll have every symptom going and think you’ve jinxed yourself lol.
The sonographers will totally understand and be sympathetic because of the situation. Mine explained everything she could see and that really helped put my mind at ease.
Fingers crossed everything goes well for you tomorrow (if you’re early you’ll just have to go back again, that means 2 scans so more time seeing baby)
Oh really? That could be nice, although I'm sure the anxiety will still be there a week later!! 🤣🤦🏼‍♀️

Yeah totally get it - it’s a weird time at the best of times without all this going on! Are you WFH too - I think the isolation can make it harder in some ways. I’m due on 25 August according to my scan today. And yeah - I think between 11-14 weeks is recommended so hopefully you’ll be able to see a little baby! 🥰
I am, which is pretty unheard of in my job role so I feel very lucky. Although I think once lockdown is over I will be back to the office. Oh that's lovely I think I'd rather it at the end of August compared to the beginning of September, although I'm not sure why x

Anyone else struggling with what to eat at the moment? I feel sick allll the time, I bought a weeks worth of nice healthy dinners for this week and as dinner times approaching I don’t fancy any of it 😭

Yeah I’m really struggling. Something that sounds appealing during the day turns my stomach by the time dinner time comes! I think as long as you’re eating something that’s the most important thing. I’ve had some evenings where I’ve had supernoodles and toast for dinner and felt guilty but I know it’s not forever x

Really unpleasant isn’t it 😣 I was going to cook a stir fry tonight but all I really fancy is something like beans on toast! x

Cheese on toast, plain chips or pringles have been my go-tos for the last few weeks. Carb overload. I can stomach fruit but I'm yet to go near a vegetable 🤢

Ready salted crisps too! Trying not to eat them too much but they’re amazing at the moment 😂

I barely ate veg either couldn’t stomach it, now nearly 35 weeks and I’ve barely ate veg the whole way through but I could eat fruit all day. Went off so much food I either just want fast food or something plain

Anything salty or fizzy/sugary and I'm there! Pure health! 😉

Oh gosh I was hoping I could back to eating some greens soon but at the minute if it's staying down I'm taking it as a win! Don't get me started on fast food, I've never craved takeaways so much before!

I am struggling however the only thing I really love eating is cereals and I find if I don’t eat when I feel sick it just prolongs the sick feeling so I try and eat something even small like a tangerine and for dinner I am having baked potato with cheese or a bagel with marmite. I am struggling to cook but the best thing my mom told me was to just eat when I feel
Hungry so if I fancy something I don’t hang about. Also I cannot stomach veg I used to eat it every meal now it is just 🤢

Strangely I would rather the beginning of September only because I am a summer child and I always wished I was earlier although I loved having my birthday in the school holiday so swings and round abouts I suppose . I am due 2nd September maybe I will be bought forward too as I’ve already skipped a week x

I’m probably not the best person to comment as I’m on medication for HG. I’ve been living off dry toast, crackers and soup. Also found graphs were fine. Had to stop buying healthy stuff and resign myself to the fact that the sickness means I can’t eat healthily

Yep I’m also one who can’t manage much healthy food. My midwife said it doesn’t matter if you can only stomach carbs and stuff just as long as you eat something and are keeping down fluids. So snack on what you can regularly to stop your stomach from getting empty and drink your water!

Another person who can’t manage much healthy food (also on HG medication). I eat a lot of sweets and drink mostly fizzy drinks. But it isn’t forever so it doesn’t overly worry me (apart from the effect on my teeth 😬).

Girls, i had my scan and we have a healthy heartbeat!! Were over the moon 😁. They measured the baby at 8 weeks and 2 days (so 3 more than i thought). The scan was so so worth the money for the reassurance. I would highly recommend. It was lovely having my partner there too. The internal side of scan is absolutely nothing to worry about. They lube it up and its basically a slim dildo 🤣

So nice to hear others are feeling the same, having not told anyone it’s only my boyfriend I can moan to and as much as he’s good I don’t think he fully understands just how bad it is 🤢

That’s so good to hear! Did you manage to see much? So glad you’re reassured now x

Ive heard people say about how they’d eat so healthy if they where pregnant 🙄🙄 I’m just like yea it’s a completely different story when you actually are it’s not you don’t want to you just sometimes physically can’t and sometimes it’s your just eating what you can keep down too. Literally I want coco pops or Frosties for breakfast 😂😂 sometimes have porridge i don’t have them everyday but a few times a week sometimes it’s 2 eggs and toast or a toasted bagel. Then for lunch might just be super noodles or tinned soup 🙈🙈 sometimes for dinner it’s tinned soup or it’s a takeaway 🙈🙈

Not sure if this is right but I’m sure when you’re pregnant you get free dental care? Apparently pregnancy can take its toll on your teeth - if that is true I’ll defo be making use of it! I’m not normally a sweets person but I devoured a pack of those fizzy rainbow belt sweets in one go the other day 😂
