With no 1 we bought stuff from around 28 weeks, we didn’t feel comfortable doing it any earlier, so just whatever suits each person as others have said.

Now I do a quick whip round about 37/38 weeks and get nappies, and stuff for me, as we already have everything we need. Will probably get the things out of storage around the same time and get clothes sorted and washed then.

When do people start buying stuff? I’m 15 weeks with my first and feel the need to buy something cute....

Wait until 20 week scan?

I’m almost 19 weeks and the only thing I’ve got so far is a few baby grows that I’ve picked up whilst doing the food shop! I definitely would’ve bought more stuff if we weren’t in lockdown but the bigger stuff (pram etc) I’m going to wait until after 24 weeks for the same reason someone else mentioned. Can’t wait until the non essential shops open and I can go on a baby shopping spree!

We are in the same boat! We are waiting to move still im 29 weeks tomorrow and I have low placenta! Have another scan on 12th April for growth and hopefully placenta has moved do you have another scan?

On April 7th at 36 weeks. Fingers crossed yours moves!

And don't get me starting on moving while pregnant, I think there's a reason even the NHS recommends not to move while pregnant. We've had such a nightmare, so stressful!!! Hope your move goes smoothly!

Even though as I've already got kids, half the stuff is hand me downs so it's already here haha

Got to love a hand me down, today I got all the boxes of my sons clothes down from the loft to see what I can save for the new baby, most of the newborn stuff I have is white anything past 0-3 is a no go, roll on girl shopping haha!!

I just had my 12 weeks scan, everything looked fine so we’re just waiting on the blood test results to make sure. They’ve changed my due date by 2 days to 29th August. It was strange not getting to share it all with my husband but I’m just pleased there’s a little one in there (fingers crossed they’re 100% healthy, I think that’s all anyone wants for their baby really)

The ultrasound was...an experience, had a trainee sonographer and it took nearly half an hour and two wees (two!!) before they could get what they needed. Very thankful our trust are letting partners into scans as I think my poor husband would have been so worried outside waiting for me for so long! Also, turns out I’m 12 + 5 so a few days further along than I thought.

Wow that is amazing what is your due date now? and glad everything looked ok! I bet that was interesting with the trainee but at least they eventually got what they wanted. I’m not allowed to bring my partner I wish he could come with me although when I had a blood test I did see some men with their partners so maybe 20 week scan he can come I bet it was lovely to see your baby on the screen!

I think it’s so funny how they tell you to come with a bladder but I’ve never met anyone who managed to have their bladder the “right” level of full. Everyone I know had to wee at least once haha

I think it must be really hard on partners who would usually be there. We get everything, we’re there for scans, all the kicks etc but because of covid partners are missing out on one of their main bonding experiences

yep it’s 25 August now!! Getting further and further away from the ideal early Sept haha. Hopefully little one wants to stay in a bit longer! Is your trust still saying no partners? Still don’t understand why it’s so different across areas but hopefully as cases drop they’ll review the rules

That's lovely news, I've got mine tomorrow and like you my partner can't attend. I'm really nervous, my symptoms have all subsided and all I am now is tired, which isn't unusual for me. This time tomorrow I will have seen it so just hoping it all goes well

Fingers crossed it’s all OK for you. The sonographers I had were lovely so hopefully they will put you at ease. I have barely any of the ‘typical’ nausea and sore boobs any more so please don’t worry - I think it’s quite normal not to have much at this stage x

Thank you, I'm a massive worrier at the best of times but throw in my first baby and mix it with a global pandemic and my mind is in overdrive! When's you're due date? I actually think I will only be 11+1 tomorrow so hopefully they can still get all the measurements etc they need x

try not to worry about any of it, some people are just soo lucky and their symptoms pass earlier than others it doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong. Wait a week and you’ll have every symptom going and think you’ve jinxed yourself lol.
The sonographers will totally understand and be sympathetic because of the situation. Mine explained everything she could see and that really helped put my mind at ease.
Fingers crossed everything goes well for you tomorrow (if you’re early you’ll just have to go back again, that means 2 scans so more time seeing baby)

Not sure if this helps anyone but I always ask them to turn the overhead screen off until they know everything is ok. I know I could just look away but it makes me feel better if it’s off completely. They’ve often commented that lots of women ask the same and they’re happy to do it if it helps

Yeah totally get it - it’s a weird time at the best of times without all this going on! Are you WFH too - I think the isolation can make it harder in some ways. I’m due on 25 August according to my scan today. And yeah - I think between 11-14 weeks is recommended so hopefully you’ll be able to see a little baby!
