I’ve just received my letters - my midwife appointment over the phone is on 3rd March and my scan is 27th March. I was hoping to have the scan before Mother’s Day (14th) so we could tell our parents then, but I don’t think they’d change it for that reason. My partner did say we’ll probably get a better view of the baby by that week too.

I had my early scan with window to the womb booked for Valentine’s Day, but after speaking to them this morning they’ve suggested pushing by it back a few weeks. I’m now thinking about having it on the week of the 1st or 8th March, so we have a scan pic and can still tell our parents with on Mother’s Day like we planned. It would also be less of a big gap then for us between the two scans.

I’ll be 11 weeks on Mother’s Day - has anyone else told their parents at that point? We were going to wait until we’d had the NHS scan but as that will only be two weeks after I’m wondering how much could change in that time?

Sorry bit of a ramble just trying to organise my life 😂
We told our parents around 6 weeks and siblings around 8 weeks. As @WhatABore says if you would appreciate their support if you run into problems then there is no harm in telling them.
We told family very early the first time and when I had the miscarriage it helped in a way that they already knew. I’d also told my best friend as had got very over excited, she has a history of pregnancy loss and I found speaking to her incredibly helpful (but I hope none of this is required in your case!!!)

Going by my period dates my due date is the 1st Sept, but my early scan showed I was about a week behind and they said 8th. My cycles have varied in length so it makes sense. Omg yes fizzy drinks and fizzy sweets! Nope I can't stomach veg either, but fruit is still ok so I'm trying to eat as much of that as possible to try and balance out all the crap I'm eating! 🤦🏼‍♀️ When is your 12 week scan? Mine is the 16th, but I think I will only just be 11 weeks then so not sure if I'll have to go again
They'll definitely be able to see. 12 week scan are usually between 11 and 14 weeks so you'll be fine 😊

Struggling today. 31+3, I’ve had what I think is braxton hicks overnight and this morning, just feels like a dull period pain? I have stage 3 endometriosis so sometimes pains like these may actually be a lot worse than I think. I’ve been in my so much pain with my endometriosis before that I was knocked out for a whole 15 minutes, not able to move my legs for an hour.
I had a 3 night stay in hospital at the beginning of the week due to another bleed, I have placenta previa and had a prom at 23 weeks so they kept me in for monitoring. Luckily, nothing got worse, the bleeding mellowed and then stopped so I’m now home.
My consultant has told me because of my placenta and the fact I have gestational diabetes, I will need an elective C-section between 36-37 weeks. Im
Excited and nervous at the same time, just hope it’s not too early for him and he is poorly 😢 I know it’s the right thing to do to keep us both safe but I still can’t help thinking it’s early and he will be in NICU for weeks on end and have health issues in the future 😓 is there anyone on here that has been in the same situation? How was it for you?

Husband has been amazing this past 12 months, as this is a baby conceived through IVF, so from Day 1 it’s been a difficult journey, not to mention numerous hospital visits etc. But this morning he’s been abit distant and he told me it’s because he seems to have been forgotten about by our family and friends, they haven’t been asking him how he is? I have been making sure that he is ok,
while I’ve felt up to it, such as cooking for him, making him a nice bubbly bath, I had a cake delivered with a lovely card sent to him when I could tell that things were difficult for him whilst I’ve been poorly. I can’t control how other people are with him, unless I bring it up with them potentially causing stress and anxiety for me which is what I need to avoid at all costs right now! I just don’t know what to do to make him feel better about this situation!
It’s a difficult situation right now for both of us, we are this little boys parents after all and it makes me sad that he is upset over this. I just want us to both focus on getting ready over the next 5 weeks ready for the new arrival, not worry about anyone else.
Not quite the same but my sister had my nephew at 35 weeks and he was fine, no NICU stay, just an extended stay in her room while he was treated for jaundice. And he is healthy as a horse.

I’m sorry you’ve had such a difficult journey. Xx

Hi Ladies. Hope its OK to join. Recently found out I am expecting. Anyone here have B12 deficiency & have injections? I have megaglobastic anemia which means my folic acid levels are in my boots constantly and I can't absorb them orally which is naturally worrying. Just wondering if there's anyone else out there who has B12 injections and how they find it? I'm under my local hospitals gyne & haematology department for other reasons so I am trying to make contact with them to ensure I can keep my levels safe.

Welcome and congratulations! Sorry, I’ve no knowledge in the area, hopefully you can get in touch with a HCP ASAP

Congratulations! I have a B12 deficiency and have an injection every 8 weeks. They haven’t changed anything other than testing my B12 levels as well as iron etc on my routine blood tests

I’m doing the digital pack by the same company. Found it very good apart from the judgmental comments she made in one video about hospital vs home birth but I’m heavily biased as I work in a hospital and don’t see it as unsafe like she does!! Have enjoyed the course overall and it’s made me totally revise my birth preferences from being “all the drugs and lots of doctors please” 😂

Welcome and congratulations to the newbies!

I really struggled to get into hypnobirthing, it’s really not for me. 😕 but I’ve just finished reading the modern midwifes guide to pregnancy, birth and beyond. That was helpful!
