Has anyone read the positive birth company hypnobirthing book? Im currently reading it and finding it incredibly insightful, written from a female perspective (as opposed to mr medical dr etc) and calming. Highly recommend 😊 im written some positive affirmations from it that im going to stick around my bedroom on post its
Going to treat myself to this!

I’m doing the digital pack by the same company. Found it very good apart from the judgmental comments she made in one video about hospital vs home birth but I’m heavily biased as I work in a hospital and don’t see it as unsafe like she does!! Have enjoyed the course overall and it’s made me totally revise my birth preferences from being “all the drugs and lots of doctors please” 😂

Welcome and congratulations to the newbies!
Ive thought about doing the digital pack also. Are the videos mainly ones that area already on youtube?
Yeah alot of the reviews on the book mention about it being quite biased in favour of midwife led and home births, but i havent got to those bits so far. The tips about breathing and understanding how the uterus is working during contractions is really useful😊

I am already dreading pregnancy. I’m on week 4 now. I remember it being uncomfortable and all the horrible side effects. The constant UTI’s, tiredness, hair falling out, morning sickness, my gums being sore, getting a rash all over my body. I struggle to see how I will get through the next 35 weeks :( It’s different this time as I’ve got a toddler to look after too and can’t just sleep all day
What’s the best app to track pregnancy? I know some of them do the days /
Months weirdly

I like the Ovia app. It has a nice calendar on it with your weeks listed so you can easily see how far you will be at a certain date.

I use this one.
I've used it with all pregnancies now 😊

Hi Ladies. Hope its OK to join. Recently found out I am expecting. Anyone here have B12 deficiency & have injections? I have megaglobastic anemia which means my folic acid levels are in my boots constantly and I can't absorb them orally which is naturally worrying. Just wondering if there's anyone else out there who has B12 injections and how they find it? I'm under my local hospitals gyne & haematology department for other reasons so I am trying to make contact with them to ensure I can keep my levels safe.
I have B12 deficiency, have injections once every 8 weeks and take folate tablets.
I’ve had no side effects from injections at all, they do take time to start working - usually 2-3 weeks in my case. I have considered self injections because the nhs guidelines just don’t allow more regular ones & I do have pretty much constant symptoms on some level or another. But that’s for after baby is here.
I didn’t have to contact haematology, I was given a consultant for pregnancy & they keep on top of checking levels etc.
I found the first 20 weeks of pregnancy hard due to the B12, was pretty much bed bound until the consultant sorted out another round of loading doses for me- 8 over 2 weeks. Still get exhausted now at 34 weeks but it’s a lot more manageable.
Anything else you want to know just ask x

Struggling today. 31+3, I’ve had what I think is braxton hicks overnight and this morning, just feels like a dull period pain? I have stage 3 endometriosis so sometimes pains like these may actually be a lot worse than I think. I’ve been in my so much pain with my endometriosis before that I was knocked out for a whole 15 minutes, not able to move my legs for an hour.
I had a 3 night stay in hospital at the beginning of the week due to another bleed, I have placenta previa and had a prom at 23 weeks so they kept me in for monitoring. Luckily, nothing got worse, the bleeding mellowed and then stopped so I’m now home.
My consultant has told me because of my placenta and the fact I have gestational diabetes, I will need an elective C-section between 36-37 weeks. Im
Excited and nervous at the same time, just hope it’s not too early for him and he is poorly 😢 I know it’s the right thing to do to keep us both safe but I still can’t help thinking it’s early and he will be in NICU for weeks on end and have health issues in the future 😓 is there anyone on here that has been in the same situation? How was it for you?

Husband has been amazing this past 12 months, as this is a baby conceived through IVF, so from Day 1 it’s been a difficult journey, not to mention numerous hospital visits etc. But this morning he’s been abit distant and he told me it’s because he seems to have been forgotten about by our family and friends, they haven’t been asking him how he is? I have been making sure that he is ok,
while I’ve felt up to it, such as cooking for him, making him a nice bubbly bath, I had a cake delivered with a lovely card sent to him when I could tell that things were difficult for him whilst I’ve been poorly. I can’t control how other people are with him, unless I bring it up with them potentially causing stress and anxiety for me which is what I need to avoid at all costs right now! I just don’t know what to do to make him feel better about this situation!
It’s a difficult situation right now for both of us, we are this little boys parents after all and it makes me sad that he is upset over this. I just want us to both focus on getting ready over the next 5 weeks ready for the new arrival, not worry about anyone else.
Hey, just wanna say in my last pregnancy I had Pprom at 25 weeks, went onto to carry him until 36 weeks with twice weekly monitoring at the hospital, I also had gestational diabetes, I had an elective c section, he came out screaming thankfullly, didn’t need to go nicu, we stayed in a couple of days for antibiotics due to the infection risk, but his blood tests came back clear and his sugar levels were fine, he was tiny weighed 5lb 4oz but was healthy and is now an energetic little boy.
I know it’s not exactly the same, but I hope this brings you some kind of reassurance.

This is really helpful thank you, we are quite similar! Amazing that you were both allowed home after a few days and he only needed some antibiotics, that’s what I’m hoping for. It’s making me more relaxed the more I read about everyone’s stories xxx

I get monthly B12 thankfully anyway, and I do have the permissions from my hospital team to self inject. I'm mostly worried about my malabsorption issue and the fact folic acid tablets don't work for me ive been having folate and iron IVs for 5 years now. As a nurse youd think I wouldn't actually be overly worried I just know how important folate is from the off set and just hope it doesn't cause too many issues. The only reason I want to contact my haematologist is about 3 weeks ago they said my folate would hinder ever conceiving. My folates actually never been above 1😅. I'm just gonna stick to my monthlies and inject when I feel I need it and hope for the best at this point. Thank you x

There is no pattern for symptoms to follow 😊 even if they completely disappear, it doesn't mean anything on its own 😊
