5 weeks pregnant today. I woke up wide away at 4:45am (very soon ikr me) and needing to pee (which I’m now doing a lot). Currently lying on the couch feeling very sick 😷 🤢
Hope it gets better for you babyyoda. I felt a bit tit around 5 weeks. Im 6.5 weeks now and my energy seems to have gone up and i only tend to pee once a night if needed (not every night). Have you had many other symptoms?

Personally I don’t think they can force a vaccine for you to travel some airlines have said they will accept no vaccines I find it a bit strange I’ve declined the flu vaccine as well.. Until anything is set in stone then I won’t listen to the news because the scare mongering just makes me anxious. I don’t think I will have the vaccine because I agree with @Kitt one minute we are told no next minute yes. I’m by no means an anti vaccine person as I have had more than most to travel to various countries I just don’t feel I want this one quite yet. Changing the subject I have been awake since 5 trapped wind and feeling sick 🤢 @Bwacac I I think your story is lovely and made me smile my partner also didn’t really want another child then he changed his mind and this is our first together he is now really happy x

Ah that’s really lovely to read. I could never get my head around the fact he didn’t want his own despite him being an amazing step dad to my son. I was elated when he had that change of heart and we are so excited to go through this together. I just wish his dad was here to watch him be an amazing father x

Just constantly nauseated, thirsty (but want water only, gone off tea), and weeing a lot and will go really hungry but can’t eat much before feeling full and sickly. I’m just taking the symptoms as at least it’s growing and getting on in there.

In my last 3 pregnancies I went right off tea. Makes for a very sorry little life at times! Especially in winter. Strangely I can now take a cup this time, so hopefully you may go back to it.

I really hope you start to feel abit better. Don’t apologise for feeling this way, as you say you’ve been pregnant through most of lockdown and it’s a super stressful time. You’ve had to deal with a loss prior to this and then navigate this pregnancy through the scariness and uncertainty of COVID.
I think you’ve done amazing and Iv always found yourself posts on here so supportive, informative and helpful for other pregnant ladies. Like me, you are a first time mum and that also brings new feelings and fears too and it’s just the unknown isn’t it?
I don’t know you, only what I see on here- but you are a very strong lady and I can tell you are going to be the best mum. Keep going, you’ve got this hun.
Lots of love xxxxxxx
Echoing what you’ve said. @Tui I’ve always found your responses very helpful and non judgemental. You are doing amazing in the circumstances we’re in. Keep smiling and stay strong ❤ X

Thank you ladies who responded and advised on working after 28 weeks. I’ll speak to my employer next week before half terms breaks. It’s so hard to know what to do for the best in that none of us have experienced this before. I’m also going to speak to my midwife on Wednesday and see what she says, I’ve got a home visit booked in on Wednesday. First actual appointment with a midwife since week 12 which I find so shocking. Pregnancy anxieties are bad enough without throwing covid into the mix, when we began trying for a baby I never imagined we would be in this situation with the pandemic. I’m 43 and managed to conceive naturally so that’s a blessing in itself, this feels so precious I really don’t want covid jeopardising anything for any of us ladies on here.
Mine was the same as you. My first face to face appointment with the midwife, apart from scans, was 28 weeks

My mums had the vaccine as she works in a pharmacy she’s only had the first dose so far 2nd dose she gets the end of March. She was fine with the first dose though no side affects or anything said her arm was a just a bit sore the next day but she said she’d the same affect with the flu jab. I’m not comfortable getting it while pregnant but would be open to it after. I did have my flu jab October last year that’s the first time I’ve ever had one. Had a sore arm the next day but apart from that I felt fine. My husband also works for the police so he’s one of the next to get it here

Yes at my booking appointment on Thursday, she said I won’t have a face to face appointment with the midwife until 28 weeks when they start measuring. Think that’s pretty normal at the moment.

That’s so kind thank you! 🥰 this is really a lovely thread.

If anyone is interested in learning more about baby care I’ve just finished the Baby Academy Baby Care online workshop this morning, especially if FTM or just wanting a refresher! They covered nappies, skin/nail care, bathing, safe sleep, dressing/temp control and a few other bits. It’s 2 hours and led by a midwife with the opportunity to ask questions in the chat box and best of all it’s free!! I don’t work for them or anything I just thought it was really helpful 😁

Oh brilliant!! Thanks for sharing I’m definitely interested. Do they run courses throughout the year do you know? The next one is next Saturday and that’s just a bit soon for me (being only 5 weeks lol) and they aren’t showing any other course.

Thanks for the recommendation @Tui me and my husband will definitely benefit from this.

I’ve just received my letters - my midwife appointment over the phone is on 3rd March and my scan is 27th March. I was hoping to have the scan before Mother’s Day (14th) so we could tell our parents then, but I don’t think they’d change it for that reason. My partner did say we’ll probably get a better view of the baby by that week too.

I had my early scan with window to the womb booked for Valentine’s Day, but after speaking to them this morning they’ve suggested pushing by it back a few weeks. I’m now thinking about having it on the week of the 1st or 8th March, so we have a scan pic and can still tell our parents with on Mother’s Day like we planned. It would also be less of a big gap then for us between the two scans.

I’ll be 11 weeks on Mother’s Day - has anyone else told their parents at that point? We were going to wait until we’d had the NHS scan but as that will only be two weeks after I’m wondering how much could change in that time?

Sorry bit of a ramble just trying to organise my life 😂

We’re going to tell our parents Mother’s Day too. We’ll only be 9 weeks but there’s only so long we can hold off from telling them. We aren’t telling anyone else until 12 weeks though.

It's all personal preference.
I told my Mum with my first at like 10 weeks.
There's no right or wrong way of doing it.
The main reason people don't is just because there's a higher chance of things going wrong. So it's more down to who you'd want there for you if something did go wrong
