At my 20 week scan with my daughter, the guy doing it said I should consider slimming world. I said I've done it and lost 9 stone between my 2 pregnancies. His response was "Well you're still overweight why have you stopped?"
He was horrible. Constantly saying how hard it was for him to do the scan because of my weight. Refused to even look for the sex because he wouldn't be able to see it because I was "So overweight"
I was down to a size 14, so no, not skinny. But still. A lot of it was loose skin too!
What an absolute wanker they have put me down as scan obstructed due to weight I’m literally a small size 12 x

As far as friends are concerned I'm quite *lucky*(?) In that I've been treated like dog shit in the past and won't tolerate it any more now I'm getting to 30. Having 3 miscarriages last year on top of Covid really showed who actually cared about me and who was just using me for convenience. When I started being "sad" and couldn't deal with their problems for them, when I wouldn't go to their house to get full drunk because everyone cunt in the country was in their house, I was contacted less and less.
I've 2 girls I used to be friends with years ago and we're more of acquaintances now and they couldn't be more excited for us. My really good friend who also happens to be my cousin, contacted me every day of lockdown and I helped her through a bad breakup. Everything opened up and I now havent spoken to her in weeks. Last time we spoke I told her I was pregnant.

To summarise, people are arseholes, I've said it before and I'll say it again. Don't treat people how you would like to be treated, treat them how they treat you.
My husband is my best friend in the world and actually, his mates have been more kind and concerned about us this whole year than anyone from my side.

Just had the first scan today and I'm so relieved that there's actually a baby in there and just chilling sucking it's thumb 😭🥰 I am so confused though so the midwife told me I'm 14+3?? I thought I was less than that. Date of last period was 26/4 and date of conception was 4/5 ... How am I over 14 weeks already?? I don't get pregnancy maths. Does this make sense to you?

What a day lads!
Woke up thinking I had Covid, settled myself and realised it was just hayfever+pregnancy+the fan was blowing in my face the entire night.
Went to a scan and the wee rascals are raving away! I THINK I saw at least 1 willy but I can't be sure!
Now I've just went and booked my 1st vaccine for tomorrow. Could life get any more exciting? 😂

Anyone else’s friends not bothered with them since being pregnant? Like I’m actually so surprised I would never be like that!

Oh guys I have confessions

I have just thrown the pregnancy test from 4 years ago with my son (it had the lid on)
And I think we have his cord in a tiny little plastic bag in his baby box - I don’t know why but I don’t know if we can throw it now 😂 its like a small piece of hard gristle 😂😂

Same! I’ve bought so many cute outfits and have the name picked out so I would be genuinely gutted if it was a boy tbh 🤣 I know that sounds awful but I’m just being honest 🥴
Reeeeeally intrigued to see what name you’ve picked cause I know you’ve said you’ve struggled especially with everyone suggesting Irish ones. Don’t need to share if you don’t want to but I am intrigued now you’ve said you’ve picked it!

The penis on my 15 week old says the sweet tooth thing is an old wives tale 😂😂😂
You should get your son’s talking penis looked at by professionals. I’m not sure that’s normal, pal.

Love life on Netflix is an easy watch, the Outterbanks is kind of like the goonies and workin moms is good American horror story is strange but I like it too.

Yesterday the whole front of my tooth fell off so ladies make sure you are using your free dental care because now when I smile I have nice white teeth then half of one staring at me and I’m going to a wedding on Friday. Good job I can get to the dentist before then, that will teach me with all the fizzy drinks! This tooth cost me 800 quid last year as well for a root canal 🦷 so doubly sad 😞 x

That is brilliant 🤣🤣🤣 👏🏽
the same with gender reveal parties… who gives a shit whether or not it’s a boy or girl! It’s 50/50 like 🤷🏼‍♀️ Sorry for the rants girls, I think this pregnancy has made me even more cynical than usual 🤣🤣🤣
I’m horrible in this pregnancy. Vile!

Honestly I’m dreading telling people it’s a girl. “Oooh one of each! How perfect!” Oh aye, perfect, this one had me literally referred to mental health service before she was even born

I DO NOT UNDERSTAND THESE PEOPLE. I had patient who photographed their poo. WHY.
My sister kept her positive pregnancy text in her handbag until the first midwife appointment incase she wanted proof 😂😂😂😂
She’s meant to be the sensible one 😂 imagine how it smelt!

We just got a cot mattress from Amazon for about £30 a ‘Mother Nature’ one. Only had it a week or two but seems great. I know it’s bad but I’d rather go cheaper and replace.

Re buying, Black Friday, Amazon and Buggy manufacturers had really excellent deals last year for anyone due after Dec.
Don’t forget stuff like the high chair, toiletries, toys, monitor etc you mightn’t need for a good few months after baby is here.

I was OBSESSED with organising everything I needed and finding the best price etc and having it all ready in my Amazon basket/next day delivery suppliers so I could click go just before she arrived/as I needed (didn’t want things to sit in boxes only to be too late to return/waste warranty if anything was wrong when it came to using them.) And all those things I obsessed over I’ve actually bought maybe 10% of it.

re:baby grows & vests - we were given lots so had tons but I think 10 would have been more than adequate for the early stages. It got stressful having so many clothes to have to wash and put away and store before/after they fit. I’d recommend zips or buttons that go down both legs. Buttons that go down the front of one leg I find awkward and any baby grow that doesn’t open down the front (so has to go over the head or be pulled up) never got used more than once.
I am going to do a stock take please tell me if I have enough I have bought newborn and also 0-3 these are the kind of things I have bought x I have
about 14 mixture of new born and 1 month and 1-2 months baby grows three outfits like matching leggings hats etc then I have 12 0-3 and a few pairs of leggings and matching baby grows. Four packs of vests one pink two white one blue shades and some handmade things my father in laws parted has made which are insane. Just bought some headbands from Amazon and little head wrap things x I think I have enough who knows do I need to buy pyjamas for her or just sleep suit? X

This time last year I was in my first trimester, I laugh at the fact I’m back here again, same early pregnancy cravings lol really spicy chicken 😍
So tired though, saw little bear for the first time today and fell so deep in love! I’m thinking I’ll be having another girl but would love a boy as we will only be having the 2 children

Has anyone got the app peanut? And had any success? It feels a bit cringe, sort if like tinder for mums and mum's to be! But I'm desperate for some new mummy friends
I spoke about this the other day in the new baby thread, I downloaded it and I had my first mum and baby date the other day. Had no idea how it would go as I’m the most socially awkward person ever, but we met up at a local park, did a lap around it with our buggies then sat and chatted in a cafe. We just spoke about boring mum stuff, our pregnancy and birth stories, obvs our babies etc but it was nice to get out and see our babies interact (blankly stare at eachother 😂) Her baby was only 6 days older than mine and was born at the same hospital.

I was awake from 4.40am yesterday morning and I thought that was early. Today it was 3am!

Is it me or is it annoying when your told, this is just your body getting you used to lack of sleep 🙄 this is really not helpful and after about the 4th person has said it, really annoying 🤦‍♀️
I’ll take sleepless nights with a newborn over sleepless nights while I was pregnant. You don’t have any of the symptoms, aren’t as uncomfortable (once you’ve recovered from birth!) and you have a newborn to snuggle?! Also, nap when the baby naps is the most annoying phrase ever - I know it’s well meaning but it’s often impractical…she loves to sleep in the car, not sure it’s responsible parenting 101 to fall asleep while driving because Maureen from Sainsbury’s stopped me in the milk aisle to remind me to sleep when she sleeps 🤷🏼‍♀️

She was! I told her so after she told me to get rid of my cats. This time at my booking in appointment I requested explicitly not to have her!

Here’s me at 36 weeks. I praise the lord for maternity vests.
For god sake that is a normal cute bump what is she talking about making you out to be ridiculously huge 🥴🙄
This is mine at 6 and a half months and I am wondering how much more to grow 🥴
