It won't mean anything. Even if someone miscarriages they will test positive for a while after until hCG levels reduce.
if it’s very early on in the pregnancy, say before 6ish weeks the tests can go back to negative very quickly, especially if there was only faint lines to begin with, but yeah if it was later on in tri 1it can take a while

It took over two weeks for my tests to go back to negative and I was just 6 weeks.

@SkinnyTurkeyDinosaur sending you so much love. I’m so sorry this is happening, I can’t imagine how scared and worried you must be xx

I have had 2 miscarriages and the first one at 6 weeks took 3 weeks to turn negative. It didn't even get fainter.
And then the second at 10 weeks took around 4 weeks.
So it can really depend.
Just taking a test isn't accurate though

I’m sorry to hear that, I don’t think miscarriage is talked about enough, seeing what skinnyTurkeydinosaur is going through is making me be very realistic about my pregnancy, I’m trying not to get attached. But alot of people seem to talk like once you are pregnant that it’s a given it will be ok. It’s really opened my eyes to be honest. I’m heartbroken for our friend here and I’m just taking things step at a time. I do think it’s should be talked about more.
Sending everyone love who’s had a mc, and who knows it may happen to me. We never know what’s intended do we? Much love and hugs xx

How far along are you?

5 weeks I think, me and skinnyTurkeydinosaur had our positive tests in the same week. Which is why I’m so upset for her. In fact, I can’t stop thinking about her. It’s my first pregnancy but I’m very much in the mindset now of take each day as it comes and nothing is guaranteed.

Isn't it terrible you can't allow yourself to get excited. It's my 2nd pregnancy (first was ectopic) I'm 10.5wks and scared every day. Ive had 3 scans so far and cried before each one afraid I'll get bad news.
My only advice would be stay away from the Instagram explore page it's all pregnancy related with good and bad stories and if you read all the bad ones you'll convince yourself you're next. Ive overeducated my brain with bad stories, ignorance is bliss. My next scan isn't for 2 wks and it can't come quickly enough.

Congratulations hun, and I understand how you feel. Well not totally because Iv not had a miscarriage before. But since reading up on it I’m almost preparing myself for it, I’m just so desperately trying not to get attached. It’s so hard because my partner keeps getting excited and he talks about it all the time. Iv woke up this morning and just don’t feel pregnant at all, I had lots of symptoms the other day and now I sort of feel normal. 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️But as I said, Iv been reading a lot which I know I shouldn’t do, I was just trying to help skinny turkey dinosaur and the more I read, the more I’m being realistic now with my own pregnancy. I’m trying to focus on the fact that I actually got pregnant! I never thought I would and so I’m concentrating a lot on that. My DMs are always open and you can always contact me if you want to talk anything through.
Iv not told anyone other than my other half so it’s lovely to get advice on here and to know people feel the same.
Lots of love xx

@Upintheair83 it’s good to be realistic about what can happen, but don’t let it totally ruin your experience right now. Enjoy each day that you are pregnant. I lost my very first pregnancy, and it’s awful, and you worry every pregnancy afterwards, but I also try and just take each day as it comes and be thankful that, as far as I know, today I have a baby in my tummy growing strongly. X

I agree that it's good to be realistic. It's horrible that it stops you being so happy about it but I feel it just isn't talked about enough how common it actually is.
1 in 4 pregnancies is a lot.
I'm 20 weeks now and I still think something will go wrong. I have one little girl after my 2 miscarriages. Yet they still over power the one that went right!. Congratulations and good luck to you!

I also agree how realistic it is! I was pregnant in april (my first pregnancy) and I was so excited I told literally everyone as I took for granted that oh i would never miscarry that only happens to people who struggle to get pregnant but at 7 weeks i started to bleed very lightly at first and by 7 weeks 5 days I was getting considerably more heavier so I booked myself in to a private scan at exactly 8 weeks. I went in for my scan and I was told everything is ok its probably implantation bleeding don't worry. The very next day i was in the shop and i felt wet and i looked down and i was obviously miscarrying. I rang my midwife who told me to go to the hospital which I did and they couldnt do anything for me told me to go home and let nature take its course i might be lucky and the pregnancy doesnt get expelled. that was on a thursday and on saturday i took a turn and was admitted to hospital with sepsis from the miscarraige. always trust your gut when you feel something isint right.

Hope no one minds me joining in. I am 7 weeks today (first pregnancy) and I have an early scan Friday to check heartbeat etc and I told a couple of close friends when I found out and I got a negative response with “oooh you shouldn’t have told people!”, why not? Women should be able to celebrate pregnancy from as soon as they find out, and if the worst happens it should also be encouraged to talk about. It’s nothing to be ashamed off and there’s still a massive stigma about not telling people and that annoys me. Why suffer in silence? It should be talked about openly and support groups encouraged.

@SkinnyTurkeyDinosaur I hope you are okay, let us all know xxx

I agree. I told people straight away - family, friends and work. Purely because if anything was to happen these people would be there for me. However I understand people’s reluctance to tell others so early on especially if they’ve been through heartbreak before.

Sending you lots of love 💕 @SkinnyTurkeyDinosaur
