Can anyone that’s been on the Evorel Sequi patches tell me if they make you have a “period” ? If they do, then does that count as a natural period? I’m so confused. I’ve only been on them two days
I usually start my period when I start the progesterone patches, a couple of days after. Can anyone that’s been on the Evorel Sequi patches tell me if they make you have a “period” ? If they do, then does that count as a natural period? I’m so confused. I’ve only been on them two days
You’re not in menopause until you have gone a full year without a period. Any bleeding after menopause needs investigating.Hi everyone, I'm mega stressed at the moment and started bleeding for the first time in 8 months over the weekend. Do you reckon this is close enough to count as post-menopausal bleeding to warrant a GP trip, or should I just watch and wait for now?
I haven’t had a natural period for 5 months now so I’m just wondering if the patches will give me a fake period? And will that then reset the count towards the 12 months of no periods before official menopause?I usually start my period when I start the progesterone patches, a couple of days after.
. I have always had periods though. Lately they are longer apart and lighter though. Though I started on Monjouro October which has messed with them a bit. Did you have periods before starting on them?
Yes, every 4 weeks. They're pretty regular now, when I start a new box then I'm usually getting my period within 2-4 days. Can anyone that’s been on the Evorel Sequi patches tell me if they make you have a “period” ? Yes you’ll get a withdrawal bleed after you finish your pack. It’s not a period as such, because it isn’t natural like a period, you’re just shedding the womb lining because you stop the patches containing progestogen so the lining breaks down.I haven’t had a natural period for 5 months now so I’m just wondering if the patches will give me a fake period? Call again. I didn't see anyone face to face when I had my HRT prescribed. I had a phone appointment, explained my symptoms and they prescribed.Contacted my local medical centre to make an appointment to discuss if what I’m feeling is peri menopause or anxiety or depression or if I need a kick up the a. I’d seen a GP there when I was in getting my coil fitted about 18 months ago and she was really good, easy to talk to, understanding, knowledgable on women’s health etc. Earliest I can get an appointment is mid March! I almost balled crying.
Thanks a mil. I didn’t mention depression when requesting the appointment - I know the receptionists have to be professional but I didn’t want people knowing my business. I’m young-ish - 40 - so that’s why I’m not sure if it’s peri.Call again. I didn't see anyone face to face when I had my HRT prescribed. Making someone wait who may have depression is disgusting. Any medication could have started working by the time you get to see anyone .
Makes me so sad and angry
I was the same, 39/40 and felt my mood improve pretty much instantly when I started on estradiol patches. Call again and ask for a callback to discuss mental health and possible perimenopause. Good luck. XxThanks a mil. I didn’t mention depression when requesting the appointment - I know the receptionists have to be professional but I didn’t want people knowing my business. I hear this so often, but just can't imagine not drinking anything at all the whole evening! But then I'm sick to death of waking up in the early hours for a wee.Well after a couple of years of waking up at night I can conclude that the thing that's actually made the biggest difference and made me sleep through the night was not drinking anything after 7pm. I stay in a deeper sleep and then my brain doesn't start whirring....
I had terrible migraines, usually with a hot flush, particularly before my period. I started on the patches, 2 weeks oestrogen and 2 weeks oestrogen and progesterone and my migraines have gone in the first two weeks when it is just oestrogen but then comes back with a vengeance for the 2nd 2 weeks. Hope that helps a bit but I think the oestrogen helps my migraines at leastSorry if this has been asked before but I'm 46 with lots of peri symptoms including awful heavy periods, migraines and terrible sleep.
I've just had a really positive supportive discussion with a prescribing nurse. She's recommended mirena coil and estrogen but wants to check about the potential of estrogen making migraines worse.
Anyone had this? And any advice re starting HRT? I feel lucky she listened but now I'm a bit panicky and thinking my symptoms aren't that bad!!
I'm almost convinced it's the reduced oestrogen that's causing my migraines as I've only been having them about 18m and at the time of my cycle that oestrogen is reducing. I was quite surprised that she said my migraines would potentially prevent HRT rather than be a reason to take itI had terrible migraines, usually with a hot flush, particularly before my period. I am convinced that was what was causing my migraines too. I would push back for HRT (unless you have other reasons not to) rather than going for a coil (but I have to say I know nothing about coils!). Can you ask to see a doctor rather than a nurse?I'm almost convinced it's the reduced oestrogen that's causing my migraines as I've only been having them about 18m and at the time of my cycle that oestrogen is reducing. To be fair she was really good and I've seen 4 Doctors who have fobbed me off previously so I'm more than happy with the advice she's given just after a bit of reassurance I think! I think im scared of starting HRT in case I feel worse than I do as my symptoms feel manageable at the moment!I am convinced that was what was causing my migraines too.
