On the subject of itching I find mine is allergy related. I’ve suddenly developed random allergies to things I’ve always used or had in the house. Feathers, Bold washing powder, gold and silver jewellery, Lillie’s, dove body wash, herbal essences shampoo are some of the culprits I’ve identified so far.
I’ve always been a sensitive type of person in that I can’t wear wool or anything with even a small percentage of it. I’m now firmly in the cotton only camp!
It’s seems to be on my face, neck, ears and scalp where I suffer the most. I often contemplate doing a Britney!

Same
Something at work has me in a rash but I can't pinpoint what. I have to wash my skin or have an itchy red rash for an hour. It's always on my arms
I also think I am allergic to alcohol now as I also get a rash after a few drinks. 😬

Could it be hand sanitiser or something else with alcohol in?

Omg
Why have I never twigged. I had it Friday after , without being gross, my arms needed washing after a patient sneezed on me 🤢 ( can do sick, blood , tit, urine but snot sends me 🤢)
We have had the same washing products for so long and oddly my hands rarely get the rash it didn't register. But I probably wash the product off my hands better then I do my arms ??

I've had to change a few products I've used for years. An old favourite heat protector was making my scalp burn even though I wasn't spraying it near my scalp 🤷🏻‍♀️ Maybe my hair's dryer so absorbing products, no idea 😂

I’m worried that the first patch I’ve ever had of HRT stupidly I didn’t read the instructions and slapped it in my upper left arm. Blame it on brain fog ADHD for some reason I only chose to read the instructions when it came to applying the patch, not where to put it. It was on 30 hours before I decided to read through the leaflet properly and it said NEVER to apply to above the waist. I took it off straightaway but still I’m now paranoid I’ve increased my breast cancer risk. It’s completely my own fault for not reading. Planning to start again tomorrow morning on my thigh.

Don’t worry, if it was that serious a risk they’d but huge labelling on. A few hours will be totally fine in the grand scheme of things but call your gp if you are very worried.

I’ve noticed ADHD (inattentive) worsening SO much in Peri. Have you?

OMG! I'm fuming!!!!

I had a GP phone appt this morning to discuss Peri for the first time and request a prescription for sequi patches.

The bleeping GP could not have been anymore anti-HRT.

Because my sumptoms are 'vague' then I need to question why I want to use this when the risks are breast and uterine cancer!!

Have I even researched HRT?

It is only given for hot flushes and because I don't have hot flushes there is little purpose to me taking it.

In my own words, I said I'm not 'suffering' badly and she then used that against me - "Why would you really need it if you're not suffering and there are other approaches such as herbal remedies."

My irritability, tiredness, fatigue and endless flat mood for the past two years can be attributed to something else.

Due to all the serious risks I'd need to question why I would want to be on it for years.

She basically wouldn't prescribe, said I need to come in for a face to face for blood pressure and to discuss it further.

This particular GP has such a brusque attitude and just had a tone in her voice that made it sound like she was talking to a bit of an idiot who just wants to jump on the HRT bandwagon.

I honestly feel really upset. All she kept going on about was 'unrealistic expectations', but I do understand it's not a cure all.

Like, are we not meant to take action at this stage in our lives? Are we all meant to be 'suffereing' so badly before we even suggest trying HRT?

There is another GP who is much nicer, but what's to say her attitude isn't exactly the same?

And because this GP was so obviously anti-HRT it just makes me really confused now

Thanks for the reassurance. Executive disfunction terrible for me at the moment. Doing the bare minimum to get by but life feels like wading through treacle it really does xxx

Go in and see them face to face, they should take your blood pressure anyway before prescribing it. Her attitude was awful but if you feel it would definitely help you, book that appointment x

Oh this is terrible. Yes some of your symptoms can be attributed to something else but it doesn’t mean they aren’t peri and surely a trial of HRT will either confirm or rule out?

I had same symptoms didn’t have hot flushes so first attempt I was brushed off and signposted to mental health instead. 9 months later I tried another GP and pretty much demanded it and guess what HRT has really helped me.

Write a list of your symptoms and go see the other GP. There was a really great tick list that I used I think it was on the Balance website, let me see if I can find it

It’s an old school attitude like I got from my mother in law. Well I sailed through it and didn’t need HRT. Bully for you

I have been on HRT a year and had one hot flush in my life. That was six months before I started on HRT.
What are her feelings on HRT lowering the risk of dementia or osteoporosis.
I would ask for a second opinion with another GP. Write all your symptoms down. Every single one.
I am so sorry you have had this happen, I hoped things had moved on and improved.

The consensus from people who know what they are talking about is it’s better to get on it before things get really bad - ask to see the other GP for a face to face app and if no luck see if you have a local specialist you can see. The GP is talking balls - the risks are minimal nowadays especially if you have no risk factors but I can understand how it dents ur confidence. We shouldn’t have to beg or be made to feel hysterical just to want something that is produced to make us feel better

Honestly, it was all negative, negative, negative. Nothing balanced whatsoever.

If, as soon as I said I was interested in HRT patches for Peri symptoms, she'd have replied with, "Oh yes, OK, we can certainly discuss that. What makes you feel you would like to try HRT and can you describe your symptoms to me?" it would have been a nice, positive start.

Instead, I got an elongated pause, followed by, "... Riiiigghht."

Like I'd just asked her for a packet of magic beans that will cure all my ills. Utterly dismissive.

Also, when I mentioned I l know several women who weren't 'suffering' prior to trying HRT, and was firmly told that other people being on it isn't a good enough reason for me to try it. But she then later says that she's prescribed it women who have found it ineffective and they've had to keep changing with no real posisitve effect.

So, other women being on it isn't a good enough reason to be, but her claiming that other women finding it useless is a good enough reason not to be.

The consensus from people who know what they are talking about is it’s better to get on it before things get really bad - ask to see the other GP for a face to face app and if no luck see if you have a local specialist you can see. This is EXCATLY what my way of looking at it is.

She sounds like a nob.....don't see her again if only for HRT/Peri. I make a note of which docs I don't wanna see - the one who told me eating bananas would solve all my issues and the other that refuses to give me antibiotics for sinus infections when they are the only thing that work.....and breathe

Oh I'm never seeing her again. I had a phone consult with her last year for an unrelated issue and she was horrible then, too.
