I went 10 months without a period then they suddenly started again. Now they’re regular as clockwork. Makes no sense.

I had a smear test recently. The nurse was saying to me regarding the rules of menopause are the following, under 50 you have to go 2 years without a period & over 50 its one year. I said I've never heard thr 2 year rule if under 50.

What does everyone do for exhaustion? I'm drinking coffee all day just to stay awake but there has to be something better. My doctor is no help...basically told me to suck it up.

You might not want to hear this but I’ve given up caffeine and feel better for it. It was initially for migraines but I can feel I’m not as sluggish or tired but wired without it. I still drink loads of lovely tea options and there’s a lot of good decaf coffee out there too.

I did it while I was ill so I rode out the worst of any withdrawals while feeling like 💩 anyway. Would recommend!

I definitely think estrogen patches are helping too.

I love my coffee. But I only have it first thing in the morning (double espresso to get me going). What works for me, what gives me energy, is daily exercise. I know it's probably not what you want to hear if you're exhausted.

Do you take iron tablets? I started taking them about 6 months ago and I think they've helped. I recently had my bloods done and my iron levels were borderline and that's after several months of tablets 😱

What sort of exercise do you do daily? I too am struggling with exhaustion but know I need to get moving more!

Not sure if I've posted in this thread before but hello, I'm 49, just started HRT in March (coil plus patches). Was feeling better for about a month once on HRT but now feeling exhausted and miserable again. On the plus side, I've had no periods since the coil was put in, my GP said I was one of the lucky ones!

I run and I also do Heather Robertson's videos. She's on Youtube and all her workouts are free. She has all sorts of workouts (different length, intensity, muscle group, etc) and can be done at home with minimum equipment. I also pop into the gym a few evenings in the week for yoga.

Has anyone found their appetite has got smaller? I'm 41 .
Yes I'm the same. I just don't fancy things like I used to. I'm happy with a sandwich some evenings. Weight not shifting though ha ha.

Sleep! Well I WFH so that makes it 'easier' but for the last few weeks I have had an afternoon nap🤣. Not done that for years , but I literally can't stay awake. Its rubbish.

Welcome! What’s your age/stage and strength of patches? Maybe they need increasing?

Thank you, I will definitely check her out. I think I just need to find the exercises that work right for me and be consistent - easier said than done!

Thank you! I'm 49 and my patches are 50mcg/24 hours. I had planned to go back to my GP to discuss increasing, but just as my repeat prescription was due I suddenly had a lot of other health issues which were much more pressing - a thyroid nodule that needed to be biopsied (luckily benign) and severe dizzy spells and tinnitus (which I'm still awaiting tests for). So I decided it was best to wait until those things settle a bit before changing the HRT. I did ask my GP if she thought the HRT could be contributing to any of the symptoms, she thought is was unlikely but not impossible. I'll see how I am over the next couple of months and maybe ask about increasing before my next repeat prescription.

Is anyone really struggling with their weight? I can’t manage to shift even a pound, my job is very active, I got walking about 2/3 times a week, I’ve even cut my alcohol intake down & not losing anything 😭I feel large & bloated all the time, and apart from starving myself I can’t think of anything else to do
Yep! I’m even on Wegovy (Ozempic) and I’m obese and the weight is clinging to me! I’m lucky to lose 1lb a week 😩 but it’s better than it going on I suppose seeing as I’m already large so sticking with the drugs for now

I've gained 10 pounds since February. I'm quite active and eat a low carb diet but damn hormones are working against me.

Do you find ozempic gives you terrible insomnia? It’s stopping me sleeping completely I don’t think I can tolerate it much longer.

I've recently noticed I've been getting heart palpitations when sitting or lying still in the evening and night. I'm thinking this is likely hormonal, either peri , a side effect of the minipill I was on recently or thyroid related. I've given up fizzy drinks for now, as I've been drinking them daily recently.

Or else the conspiracy lot are right and my covid jab heart problems have been activated.
