I have tried magnesium but it really messed up my digestion. What sort of does did you start on as maybe I took too much ?
I got this email from Nutrition Geeks today (I'm not on commission!):

If you’ve been struggling with poor sleep, you’ll probably be no stranger to overthinking...

Lying wide awake in bed, thinking about what happened during the day, if work went okay today, if you offended anyone.

You may also experience ‘catastrophising’, where you imagine the worst possible outcome of any given scenario from the day, or what was to come tomorrow.

To be honest, this is exactly how I was feeling...

Why can’t my brain be quiet? Why am I thinking of things that I know will probably never happen?

It’s frustrating. I felt like even just a few hours of quality sleep would make a huge difference to how I was feeling the next day.

Not even a perfect 8 hours. Just something better than what I already had.

I’d ditched caffeine, late-night eating, and using screens before bed. Everything the ‘gurus’ tell you to do.

Then I discovered something crazy.

This overthinking was actually just my body’s way of telling me that my nervous system was constantly on high alert, forcing me to stay awake.

My body felt tense, and my brain was interpreting this as me needing a reason to worry!

That’s when I looked into the benefits of Magnesium for sleep, and realised there was a whole community of people raving about Nutrition Geeks’ Magnesium Glycinate 3-in-1:

Magnesium Glycinate → Helps regulate the body’s stress response by regulating the release of cortisol and supporting GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid), the brain signals responsible for "switching off" the brain's internal noise.

Magnesium Malate & Citrate → By physically easing muscle tension and preventing restless legs, they send a signal to your brain that it is safe to downshift from "survival mode" to "sleep mode."

Together, all three forms work to help you not just get to sleep, but also stay asleep.

No more waking up every 20 minutes with a new unwanted thought.

With consistent use over a few weeks, I found that I was falling asleep more quickly than before, and getting some actual decent sleep in.

It’s been a game-changer for me, as sleep really does affect all areas of your life when you think about it.

How strange, I've been exactly the same! Wide awake an hour after going to sleep - like I could get up and start the day, then takes ages to get back to sleep. Wake up for a short while at 3am, then another wide awake time at 5ish. I'm tired but not as exhausted as I would normally be on a few hours sleep 🤷🏻‍♀️
It's the same for me recently, wake an hour and half after going to sleep, again at 3am and 5am. Most of the time, I'm going straight back to sleep but I'm wide awake when I wake up. I'm never like that in the morning
And, I'm taking the nutrition geeks 3 in 1 magnesium.

I use cheap magnesium Glycinate but I take it with a meal. I have it at tea time. I've heard people take it at bed time , but I'm wary of taking it on an empty stomach.

Thank you - I will have a look at their stuff and maybe give it a try (especially for restless legs which is also the joy of Peri for me). I just don't want more 'gastric distress' as TBH that disturbed my sleep too :)

In a world of peri doom, where there's not much to laugh about. I did find myself laughing during my 3am wake up call and trip to the toilet, I just pictured how many of us were doing the same thing, at the same time :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO::rolleyes::ROFLMAO:

I started on the Holland & Barrett Magnesium Bisglycinate 375mg, and it was fine but I switched recently to the Nutrition Geeks three in one and I've been fine. Xx

I'd been taking these for a long time until I ran out and got out of the habit of taking them (silly). Quite quickly noticed I was shedding a lot more which improved loads a few weeks after I started taking them again, plus lots more energy which I hadn't realised had dropped.

I'm taking extra biotin now and use a shower filter which I find leaves my hair softer and less knotty

It's horrible having to empty your brush every few days and constantly picking hair off clothes

I think mine is thinner, so I've started taking Biotin from Nutrition Geeks, but I've probably not taken them long enough to notice any change.

Same. Used to have too much hair and now I can see my scalp. Tried Collagen and could feel the regrowth but sadly I was also mega itchy on the regrowth areas so stopped. Tried 2 different types and it happened both times.
I did actually buy this at the weekend so going to give it a try

Pantene Grow Abundant Anti-Hair Loss Scalp Serum 60ml

Oh - though I was adding a link but no. Anyway Google this as it was a tenner in Boots so worth a go

There is also this, but I don't know what it's like

I know eyelash serums tend to work, although you have to keep up with the application, so this may well be good.

Hey Ladies, any recommendations on CBD Gummies? Really need to curb this anxiety and HRT has helped but not 100%. Thanks

I’ve started taking collagen and that’s encouraging, my hair is terrible. I seem to have random itches all the time so it won’t be much different

Sleep is my main issue, struggling to get off, stay down ! My mind won’t be quiet either, I find if I have listened to a song I like not even on repeat my brain replays it again and again driving me mad trying to sleep. Have been taking Maggie gummy’s 90mg which have helped. Off Amazon and sometimes 3mg of melotonin … so maggy and melly needed now to sleep.. makes me sad for the loss of my younger hormonal self .. very marked change for me.. not enjoying it ..

Try iron. It sounds silly but it works

I made the mistake of buying the magnesium, zinc and B6 combo from home bargs which clearly states on the front they help with sleep. I woke up more in the past week and my bowls did not like it one bit so I've stopped taking them. Even chatgpt wasn't impressed and said they aren't good for long term. Why is there so many bloody options for vitamins and minerals. Am I better off just getting a multi vitamin or shall I just try just the magnesium gly(forgot the rest of the word) ones as mentioned here?

I have ordered the Nutrition Geeks one as a final attempt on magnesium as it upset my stomach too. Wondering if getting one of the magnesium sprays will help sleep without the stomach issues.

I also had a bad stomach with magnesium. Literally every time I’ve tried it. Have been considering a half dose but even that is a scary prospect!
