I’ve given up trying to look decent on holiday. I look poached, frazzled and bloated for the duration.

I discovered a product called Colorwow on a thread on here. Since I've been using it, my naturally very curly hair is no longer at all frizzy after straightening. The first sign of moisture or if I put it up, it would just kink and bits would frizz. Since using the colorwow, nothing.

It doesn't help with bloating but keeping my hair nice on holiday did make me feel better.

Sounds promising. I will check if it has silicone in it (dimethicone) as it makes my hair greasy after a few uses.

These are the ingredients

AQUA, DIPROPYLENE GLYCOL, POLYSILICONE-29, SILICONE QUATERNIUM-18, GLYCERIN, TRIDECETH-6, CHAMOMILLA RECUTITA (MATRICARIA) FLOWER EXTRACT, CALENDULA OFFICINALIS FLOWER EXTRACT, POTASSIUM SORBATE, PHENOXYETHANOL, TRIDECETH-12, SODIUM BENZOATE, CHLORPHENESIN, POTASSIUM BENZOATE, DISODIUM EDTA, CITRIC ACID. F#703-2

You only use it ever few washes, they say 3 to 4 but I go 5 before I notice it wearing off.
My hair is dryish and I don't need wash it super frequently, which helps.
(you can buy it much cheaper than Boots).

Quick question, I am on Estradot 100 patches but my pharmacy always struggles to get hold of them. I’ve used two other, larger types just to get hold of something but i don’t like how they come unstuck really easily and i feel I absorb the Estradot better. What other patches are out there? I’ve tried everol and another I can’t remember the name of!

When i can't sleep, I often get a sort of hot flash but with no sweating. It feels like I am burning on inside, I can't cool off until it stops as the heat is coming from inside the house.

The worst bit is that I always get freaky weird or upsetting dreams when I am to hot. So of i manage to sleep I see all sorts of weird things.

My grandma used to swear by a single paracetamol for this. It lowers your temperature so I can see the sense in it

Oh gosh be careful. Paracetamol can paradoxically actually cause night sweats!

I was asking my pharmacist if it helped for heat exhaustion and she said it’s not recommended as it’s a different mechanism and something something internal thermostat or other. I’ll be honest she lost me a bit but I trust her entirely.

I have that boiling from the inside out without any sweating and it’s horrendous. Really nauseating too. I keep wet facecloths in freezer and basically let it melt on my head. It’s not glamourous but it’s some relief from feeling like my brain is stewing.

What’s the deal with periods ending? Do they just get less and less on a monthly basis and gradually peter out or does the length of time in between them just get longer and longer?
I’m nearly 54 and SO fed up of periods!! It’s the pain and the bloating before hand that does me in. What will it end? Waiiiiiiil Waiiiiiiil

Lighter, heavier, shorter, longer, less frequent, more frequent.
Any or all of the above, unfortunately.

I'm 52, 53 in two weeks, mine started changing just under 2 years ago. For the first year the regularity changed, sometimes 6 weeks, sometimes 2 weeks apart. Then it started to be a few months. My last one was Nov 25.
The intensity of them would also differ. I haven't experienced exceedingly heavy ones (touch wood) that others have reported but, there were heavier or lighter ones, for me, anyway.

So, as with everything peri, it's individual and there's no standard.
And, just to make it worse, someone up thread said they had gone 16 months or something like that, then had another period. I'm not sure if that's unusual, I hope it is.

Mine have started getting closer together. This period I also had really sore boobs leading up, which is usual, but then they hurt for the whole period which has never happened. Only just getting back to normal now as my period is petering out, and they’re still a little tender. Not fun.

Blimey, my cycles started going haywire as early as 40 and now, at 45, they’ve stopped. “Only” five months so far, so I doubt I’m done with them. Thoughts and prayers to those of you still battling them in your 50s 🙏

Did anyone else have the wierd thing of when your periods did stop you still sometimes got monthly period pain and the feeling one was going to start?
I'd be so pissed off as I thought I was in the clear - go to the loo to check and....nothing.
I had it when I was in very early pregnancy too. I wonder if it's some kind of muscle memory your body goes through.

My Mum had this. @Jelly Bean I was talking to her about her symptoms not long ago. She said even after her periods were long gone, she still got mittelschmerz and period pain quite regularly, but with no ovulation or blood loss.

She’s 79 now and still sometimes says she gets a feeling like her body is trying to kick off ovulation 🥴. 79!! That can absolutely do one. 🤣
