If anyone is after some structure to their strength workouts I recommend following #hardcore on the floor. They post new daily workouts and mine today was
- 10 min jlo core
- 10 minute resistance bands
- 20 min upper body strength

I did this after a 30 min Jess sims lower body bootcamp and am deceased.

Instagram page is hcotf2018 and they do arms/legs etc splits

Noticed they’ve added a load of Pilates classes too which I’m gonna try!
Ooh I'll have a nose!
I've started Selena's strength stack for this month but not sure how much I'm feeling it, going to do it this week and then see how I feel and whether I continue with it

It’s good, hard but I like that 😂 I definitely need to work on my core too because it sucks and if I’m going to skip anything it’s core stuff

Has anyone tried the barre or pilates classes? On one of the groups I joined, everyone was saying they’re extremely hard...hoping I can find one I can ease into 😬

I’ve started the powerzone programme, can tell that’s going to be a slog....some of the music, not sure I’ll manage 45 mins with some of those instructors 😬

Yeah I did a ten minute barre yesterday with Ally and my legs were very sore afterwards 😂

I think Olivia has the best music personally, the others are old school rock which doesn’t really get me motivated!

The whole treadmill thing is turning into a bit of a pr disaster. But I don't quite get it. Their brand is being tarnished but there's nothing really unique or novel about their treadmill so it applies to many others. Seems strange the message the Us regulators are saying to stop using if you have pets or children. Presumably it has a shut down key system like they all do so would be easy for a parent to lock it down.

Lbc have been playing their ad all morning with nick Ferrari saying "Peloton can kill!". Are global annoyed that the huge marketing budget didn't use their services?

Warning a child gets dragged under

It's a catch 22 situation, recalling all the equipment (I think it's the large us treadmill that's the model affected) and admitting a flaw would be so costly. But saying the equipment is fine and blaming parents who's children have been hurt (and in one case killed) seems callus.

I couldn't work in PR I'd be like WHY ON EARTH HAVE YOU GOT YOUR WORKOUT EQUIPMENT THAT SAYS KEEP AWAY FROM CHILDREN IN A ROOM THAT LOOKS LIKE A PLAYROOM?! They won't be able to win either way with how they approach this!

Why would you let your children play on something that specifically says don't let children near it? I know kids can be uncontrollable, but take extra precautions, from a Peloton group I'm in people even put playpens around their bike / tread to keep kids away.

People need to take responsibility for their actions, they've been given all of the warning, told the guidelines it's on them if something happens. They can't go blaming a company because they couldn't be arsed using something how the guidelines say, especially something that can cause injury.

I wanted the tread but my cat has run of the house and it says not to let pets near it so I'm not getting it.

Editing to add - just been reading up on the Peloton tread and it's safety features to stop things like this happening. It has a safety key that has to be inserted for the tread to start, and you are told when it isn't in use to unplug it fully from the mains, and remove the safety key and keep out of reach of children.

I think covid has shown that some people like to be treated like infants and taking personal responsibility isn't popular these days.

I think the main question is do other treadmills have safety features that will cut off if something is being dragged under? They'll probably do some software updates to warn or add more limited safety features but it'll probably need a new model / hard fix to prevent the issue from ever happening.

We are getting the tread and the bike. The tread does look shorter than a regular treadmill - is that the issue?

Think the issue is the belt at the back is just goes straight under, and most other models have like plastic that covers the belt at the back - I am so bad at describing so I've done a side by side to show what I mean haha

Ah thanks that makes perfect sense. It could end up looking very bad for them if it turns out they've prioritised asthenics for their 4k treadmill and don't have the safety features that others do. Although I'm sure they're not the only ones with that design, but they've successfully managed to become a household name.

Surely they should just recall and put a plastic cover over the back - Yes the PR would be hard but easier to do something than ignore it.
Otherwise they are going to have a lot of people suing them for various things... not to mention the poor child.

Yeah the treadmill story is so sad, I read they’re going to introduce some sort of pin software as a preventative measure but equally I wouldn’t want any young kids touching expensive and potentially dangerous equipment. I don’t even let my boyfriend on my bike lol

that video is horrible, poor kid

Tread plus is the issue, the regular tread the only one used in Uk is safe and has bar - this is mine x

It sounds like they've been talking to the government organisations for weeks and they did their warning this weekend because Peloton are pushing back on a recall. It probably isn't that easy to retrospectively fit something that solves it well and doesn't compromise the machine. Then there's the huge logistics to recall so many huge machines.

Treadmills by their nature can all be dangerous and shouldn't be used by children. Peloton has attracted some of the people that are pretty pretentious about brands so it's an easy target.

It does seem like they've messed up as their premium machine has just the bare minimum safety features that the budget treadmills for 90% less do (safety key and ability to unplug).

I’ve read somewhere they can’t put a barrier under as makes it just as dangerous, if something was to get caught in it and it was still running or something like that. It’s very similar to the woodway treadmill....they are serious bits of kit, not something I’d want to fall off, never mind a kid
