Quite frankly, that is verging on mental illnessI know someone who did this too.
If I'm going somewhere I'd want to explore it!
It runs like clockwork to be fairI'm glad I did Bushy, because it was nice to experience the original one, but I wouldn't do it regularly as it was far too people-y. Never mind the fact I'm the other end of the country
It's also quite eye opening watching the volunteers at work at such a busy event. Like a well oiled machine, especially those dealing with finish tokens.
I joined a jogging club, I’d never run before. I love it, it encourages me to go knowing the rest of my group are going. I’ve only done 2 Parkrun so far though.Thank you everyone. I already do strength training 3/4 times a week and Pilates 2/3 so fitting in more running might be tricky but I feel like this is my new hyper focus so will find a way. I have a 7 month old so suppose I could practice with the pram.
I love the idea of a running club, the social side does appeal as none of my friends want to do parkrun with me![]()
What’s wrong with this? It’s a mixed gender category and they aren’t transI’ll just leave this here
Sorry WHATIf I am reading it right, some weirdo on the world parkrun tourist page flew to Australia for 48 hours to do a parkrun!
Wow, that’s great. Thanks for sharing the link. Looks like there’s some here in Aus, tooIt is indeed a thing. And very positive - https://blog.parkrun.com/uk/2023/07/25/the-positive-impact-of-parkrun-in-custodial-estates/

I'm now curious as to which thread this was?Gawd, that tourist group loves a bit of volunteer bashing... most weeks they have something to complain about.
Oh sorry, about the man in Ireland being the 4th person to do something…. But not sure what he didThat group has been going for some time.
What more do you want to know? There are people who chart their own plane to get to the island.
This is the one closest to my daughter, had thought about doing it when I was visiting her but 5 laps sounds torture.Hilly fields in London is 5 laps.
The prison ones are in double figure laps
Wait…. “Tourist” are worse.Nothing worse than a 4 lapper!
