I think it was his 6th alphabet. His wife was the first lady to do 6.
No parkrun for me today. Annoyingly I wasn't well Thursday and yesterday so told my guide runner's wife (as he isn't on Facebook) I wasn't well and wouldn't be there. I'm feeling a bit better and could have gone. But the lie in was welcomed.
That run report was insanely badHenstridge Airfield have removed the snowflake paragraph from their run report. Would be terrible if someone had taken a screenshot for posterity![]()
Yes sorry I know that my point was if it’s not meant to be a competition then why do Parkrun also provide age grading etc.Because it started life as Bushy Park Time Trials. Its origins are competitive. Lots of people like that which is why they don’t want to get rid of it, I’m sure participation would drop.
After thinking about it recently, I think they should only send finish times to the individual participants and not publish them, and not use/publish finish positions or age gradings. That way if you want a fun run you get a fun run, but if you want to test yourself then you have a record of your times.
You can happily avoid. Or watch and judge from a distance.I was hoping to take our LO to junior parkrun in a few years but I think I'll skip it if there's hundreds of pushy parents there. I grew up in a competitive dance atmosphere, I don't need that shit!
on the "news" bit on each parkruns pageWhere do I find run reports? My app just has results
It’s so pathetic! I have no idea what I’ve done to get banned from commenting. The moderators are a bit ban/delete happy over there. They took someone's post down earlier- it had parkrun themed earrings in![]()
What trans thing? Genuine question, if you don't mind replying.Christmas parkrun, or new year, is the main one I dowe have other sporting activities Saturdays which mean I don't do it much.
Haven't they stopped the double now by saying they all have to be at 9? We spent one new year morning we queuing to get into the carpark at Haldon Forest. It was rammed with people trying to do the double.
My other half has a real bug bear about the organisation behind parkrun and the rules they issue, the trans thing, the sun newspaper executive they appointed, the dogs on leads not harnesses....
The parents clearly aren't aware it's meant to be fun and not competitiveWe love junior parkrun! Some of the parents are interesting though!
There's a few really fast kids at ours and one in particular if you were solely watching his Dad, you'd think it was the bloody Olympics.... constantly balling at him telling him to pick up the pace etc.1
Then there's the parents who run with little kids (which is fine) but they're literally dragging the poor buggers round in order to get a PB!
My daughters friend's Mum also said she's not allowed to stop/drop out, if she starts she HAS to finish.... they're 7! Mine has dropped out a couple of times because she's fallen over, or she's just not been feeling it that morning!
ClitheroeThere needs to be a challenge with Penistone and Scunthorpe as well. Any others?![]()
Dealbreaker…what a tool. What does he think the organisers are going to say?I have a friend who is running an ultra at the weekend. Apparently it goes close to a parkrun course. Sone idiot has asked if he can detour from his almost 50 mile route to do parkrun and then continue with the actual race so he doesn't lose his streak. Apparently its a deal breaker and if he can't do parkrun he won't do the race
Not me, I did a bit of a search but couldn't find anything. For those who listen to WMN, why did DN stop calling it the Freyne club? Anyone know the tea?
Isn’t the issue with French parkruns the requirement for French mass participation sporting events to have a medical certificate?
Thankfully no idea who you're talking aboutIf you looked up the words ‘park run cunt’ you’d see runrutrun from instagram as the image being used. Show me a bigger toss bag than this guy when it comes to park run and pretty much in general![]()
