I got most of the way through the Suzie Dent ep before I realised I’d not taken in a single word (ironically)

It felt a bit like she didn’t really want to talk about parenting and they were clutching at straws trying to bring her job into it at every lull, which was often.

She didn’t seem to gel with Rob either, he kept laughing which probably didn’t help.

Rob’s jokes about Rose being away might be getting old (and are a touch sexist even in jest), but I still laugh at any Gabrielle reference 😂😂 and screwfix.

Not listened to Susie Dent yet and I’m not sure if I will now.

I really enjoyed Susie's episode and was surprised to learn that she's 59!! I thought she was in her 30's or 40's she looks so young.
Also, she has probably worked with Rob and Josh on countdown so their dynamic may be more comfortable or pre-established. I think they did respect her boundaries, not talking about partners etc... but agree there could have been more parenting chat. Maybe because hers are old they struggle to ask questions that don't relate to parenting young children?

It felt like they got her on because they like her and get on with her. But it did feel a bit awkward. I think Suzie Dent is fab and I actually enjoyed her stuff about what lexicographers do but the parenting things didn’t flow that well. Still far better than George Foreman though!

I know ads having been a talking point on this thread before but they are starting to annoy me.

They seem to start at the ending of a conversation but when the ads stop there’s a jingle and then the start of another conversation.

Is this happening to anyone else, or is it just me?

Weirdly i don’t seem be getting ads lately…only just realised 🤔

Just finished the episode.

I noticed at the end they asked about what her 24 year old does that's annoying rather than what the partner does, so I then googled about her partner. They split up two years ago, sounds like it wasn't a good split after being together 20 plus years...

So I wonder if she's being more secretive about it because of the relationship with him not being positive and not wanting to say anything that he would or could use against her...

I mean. I don't know. I'm just putting two and two together and getting five 😂

Definitely one or the more boring / calmer episodes. One for an early morning train that's for sure!

I get 3 ads just as the child introduces them, and then 3-4 ads maybe twice throughout. I often don’t listen in one go though, so that’s maybe the issue. They are easy enough to skip through, I just think the timing is completely wrong. Whether that’s them saying “put ads here” or Spotify doing it itself.

I actually had one in yesterday’s episode that wasn’t like the normal 15/30 seconds one, and was in the actual episode making it harder to skip. It cut of the last segment and then when the episode had restarted it was 10 seconds into conversation about Josh’s phone not working and I had no idea what they were talking about - it’s rather frustrating!

Some very old and luke warm tea on Simon mayo. I met him as a 13 year old backstage at a radio one roadshow. I either asked him a question or for a photo and he completely blanked me and I’ve not liked him ever since. I listened today with an open mind but the irony in him saying someone was rude to his child! 🤣

I gave up on the panel show they are doing - but keep seeing the promo for it. Why is Natasia Demetriou in seemingly every episode?! Do they mention it at all?
