Kiri is one of the best people. She’s so humble and kind hearted. She does loads with charities - especially local to her. She’s really passionate about being Welsh - her heritage and culture. And she’s smart and funny!
I usually skip lots of guest eps but was so glad when I saw a post on the AKNF fb group that’s she was on. It’s such a different take on parenting.
I do think Rob especially struggled with ‘woman in her 30s doesn’t want children’ but it was a good and informative chat.
I too was overjoyed to get a (sort of) cross over between my 2 fave podcasts. I can see why she just mentioned the stand up really rather than AKNF given the probable audience... But there was a corker of a new episode out today - and best of all no ads on her podcast with Rachel!

Kiri is genuinely a good person, you can tell she really cares about people and doing the right thing. I think any kid who gets to stay with her must feel really safe and cared for.

What did everyone think to the discussion about which age is the hardest on Fridays episode? I was totally team Josh and agreed with all his points. I think Rob has been out the trenches too long!
As a mother of a teenage boy who is 17, I would happily go back to the arsehole toddler years. I think every age has it's challenges.

I listened, didn’t get the fancying her dad vibes but she was so annoying, totally condescending going on about her work experience and how she has coached people etc…i googled and shes only 27! I know they were promoting their podcast but wonder why jane didn’t take part with him instead of his daughter.

I absolutely agree. Next time I'm going for a job interview, I want a pep talk by him!
Admittedly I do listen on 2.0 speed so it maybe made him a bit more chirpy but I thought overall it was a good podcast. I like to hear about people with different jobs and circumstances and how they make it work and its nice to hear someone speak so positively about their ex too.

I liked the bits about the sport as well too, it's not one popular here so it's interesting to hear how things are done, though I know not all are fans.

I think when they go too heavy on any one sector a few in a row it can be too much (like too many comedians at once, too many TV folk etc) but I liked this and although he's not their mate (like some of the guests obviously are) I felt he made some good comments and there was good banter with them and it didn't feel like any one of Rob or Josh were leading it as what happens sometimes. A win for me today.

I’d question how private he wants to keep them if someone said above he bought them out on stage at one of his shows?

If you've not got a gift surely you'd just stick £ in a card rather than a shitty regift. Tight.
I was shouting ‘stick 20 quid in a card’ out loud when he was talking about Lou searching the house for a gift 🤣

Rob is really starting to grate on me now. I've always been mildly annoyed with how he has to get his story out exactly how he's planned it in his head but when Josh is talking will constantly interrupt him. Now Josh is calling him out on it I'm finding it even more annoying.

I do find it funny how Rob tells stories in a way that makes it sound like he thinks he's the first person to have ever done that thing like sausage rolls with the kids 🤣
He definitely thinks he is better than Josh, his taking the piss out of him is funny but then always carries on way too long and he interrupts him to belittle him. Maybe I’m sensitive to it as I love Josh 🤣

Aww rob & romesh won at the baftas. Have to admit I got a wee bit teary eyed. Well done them. They do.work hard and have a genuine niceness about them. Lou had a pic on insta and she looked fab 👌

Haven't listened to today's but I like Frank Skinner, I think he's an older Dad so would be interested to hear his take on things!

I agree! I found Rob a bit annoying though, felt like he came across a bit dense at points and a bit more of his psychobabble.
Beckett bingo, I love the bloke but he’s like your mate that always mentions one of several things - with Rob it’s usually one of either fitness, schooling and or childhood, some mindfulness / counselling / psychological question or analysis & then some of the usual banter aimed at Josh.

As I say I like him but he’s much easier with Romesh, who balances him out very well.

Going back to Russell Kane I thought it was really not cool that he mentioned the Oedipus thing and his daughter wanting to exclude the mum. That's really too personal to be talking about in a public arena.
I wonder if Rob and Josh will find it harder to talk about their kids going forward?
My 8 year old doesn't like his own brother seeing a baby picture or video he would never be ok with me talking about him on a podcast.
I thought the Oedipus reference was an oddly sexual lens for Russell to be viewing his relationship with his own daughter. As a child, you can struggle with the want to be the centre of a parent’s world without wanting to be their partner!

I thought the Oedipus reference was pretty gross and extreme too, and a weirdly sexual lens for Russell to be seeing his relationship with his own young daughter through.
