It's not like there's only women on OnlyFans, there are plenty of guys making money on OnlyFans. We just don't see news articles on the money they make.

I think it comes for them with a lot of shame because it's men paying for this content so they go gay for pay. People like sean pratt deepthroat a dildo, get their toes sucked on camera and god knows what else for coin. He's tried to play it as empowering "I get paid to get my kit off!" but the actual content is very grim.

I think (not always, in the majority of cases) you have to have a pretty decent following on social media already to be able to make a good wage out of OnlyFans. So you would probably already be doing #ad and swipe up. I don’t think you can just go from a normalish social media presence to making 800k!

What can be said that hasn't been said already when it comes to interviewing these OnlyFans creators? I really don't understand why these shows invite them on. It's not like we are going to learn anything that we don't already know. I am sure the teacher could have hidden her identity online with a mask, or not shown her face at all. There's ways around it that would allow for her to not get caught, but I imagine that was all part of the marketing idea. It's become very predictable at this point.

Sorry to quote an old post but I've just gone down the rabbit hole of reading this thread and saw this one. My ex is a photographer and used to do a lot of adult/porn shoots. One time I was round his flat and Hannah came round for a shoot. It seemed so seedy and weird, she was just on the bed in her underwear with him taking pictures, and then filming videos masturbating. Its so easy for someone to save the content off OnlyFans and post it to free to view sites so there is no point in paying really, unless you really want to be able to have a bit of messaging going on, and there is no other way then you might. But the creator is still only going to engage for the money they gain from it.

I think people use it instead of free porn as they get hooked into a thirst trap of someone from social media, they want to see that person not random porn and want to actually interact with them.

Unlike porn I can see it can be very lucrative for a regular income (I guess the person takes home around 60% of the fees?). Not something I'd want to be a part of from either side though! Once it's out there, it's out there.

With regards to the content being reposted elsewhere it comes under revenge porn and obviously card details and identification are stored when someone purchases. The risk is there of course but I read there’s been a few cases of people being sued.

That's interesting that it comes under revenge porn, seem like an abuse of the law. If someone is selling naked photos and videos does that not make them somewhat a professional porn star? You wouldn't think sharing a porn stars videos would come under revenge porn, but it definitely should do under copyright and loss of revenue.

I initially thought it might be a step better than prostitution but since several threads have popped up here I now think it's going to be very detrimental to their long term health. But for some it's an easy way to make alot of money with little work. No idea how long they actually spend interacting with their fans in order to keep them hooked and subscribed. I imagine popular accounts can use a virtual assistant to pretend to be them.

My main issue with seeing someone 20 being celebrated for buying a house through onlyfans (which most probably means getting enough for a deposit.) Is that only a tiny fraction of people will be making good money through this.

The vast majority make next to nothing in a crowded market. These success stories often make it seem like it's that easy to make a fortune when only the 1% will make minimum wage. If you have an Instagram following it's easy to make it, otherwise it's very difficult.

I imagine it's really not the easy work of a few photos a week to keep people paying.

And finding someone's address from an IP is essentially impossible¹ unless they are using very specific types of internet access, which most people don't (businesses and universities might do, so yeah, if you're doing it from a hall of residence it might be possible).
