Well said. If we're honest, they like it because most of them are earning more than they'd get via a job with a contract. But that also means they could have saved most of their income and hence have enough money to fund them while they look for alternative work.

I see lots of influencers who seem to earn a lot, but also spend a lot. I'd be saving everything I could. But I suppose they feel they have to have all the flashy material possessions to fit in.
These platforms are nothing more than a pimping service, the streetwalker equivalents at the bottom won't make anything. It's shocking that so many people think this is empowering women

There is a woman in her 30s who lives locally to me, she has been doing OnlyFans for a couple of years now. She has gone further and further and further with what she does. She went from doing soft, glamour type stuff to now doing anal videos and meet ups with other “content craters” to do lesbian content and the other day one of them took her strap-on virginity. She is posting full on, legs open nudes with bolt on fake boobs on display on her Twitter to lure the sad sods to her OF. Listen no judgment from me, but bear in mind she has a son who is about 12 and a daughter of about 5. It’s harrowing to imagine their classmates finding this stuff and showing them. Would you ever get over that? I doubt it. These women don’t seem to care about the consequences of all this on their loved ones.

The worst example I’ve heard of as far as webcamming is concerned, was a young woman who did a 1-2-1 with a punter who had a plastic bag fetish and he talked her into putting a plastic bag over her head :( She suffocated and he watched her die over webcam without calling her an ambulance. The police wanted to do him for manslaughter but he topped himself before they could.

Read about that case here:

So I would just say to anyone who chooses to take this path, you need to make your boundaries crystal clear and don’t ever feel that you “have“ to do something.

Christ, if I wasn’t fat this could be a change of career for me.
I hear you! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I was born in the wrong era (too old now) and damn my parents for raising me with morals and respect for myself! I work very hard and don’t have much to show for it, and these types are living the life of Riley conning pervs in basements with doctored pics!

Funny this thread should pop up, heard over the weekend a friend of a friend's daughter still lives at home has had to come clean to her mum that she's been doing Onlyfans because she's just been hit with a £20k tax bill!

Only fans was celebrated on several radio stations and channels as a good news story with people making serious money. That's pretty bad reporting imo, feels like a pr read from only fans.

Yes the top 1% make good money, but they account for 90% of all money made (im guessing but it's in that vein). The vast majority make next to no money and have released content into the world that could come back to haunt them for the rest of their lives.

So is it only nude photos or porn ? Are girls/blokes wanking ? I also not sure I see the point of it. Do they do live shows ?
from what I understand people can literally upload anything? I have heard of people doing like online tutorials of cooking etc

there’s a YouTuber called Nina Unrated and she said the other day that Trisha Paytas used her referral link to join Only Fans which meant Nina was getting 5% of whatever Trisha earned in a month.

Nina was earning $16,000 a MONTH off Trisha’s 5%. I can’t even do the maths of what Trisha was earning!

It seems to be everywhere and a lot of girls with any kind of social media following seem to be on it. I do think there is a dark side to it, i watched a BBC3 documentary and its not all 6 figure salaries, a lot of vulnerable girls are feeling pressured to get even more explicit and x rated in order to make some much needed cash.

It's not something I could ever do personally, and whilst I'm not anti-sex work, I think the lines are blurry and I'm not sure if I whole support some aspects of the industry as I think its ripe for exploitation and we're being sold a narrative about OF that isn't necessarily the case for everyone. And whilst I fully support the right for all women to have the right to do with their bodies as they wish, OF stays on the internet forever and young girls who get themselves wrapped up in this and then try to get careers in the future may struggle (whether thats right or wrong), we still live in a deeply patriarchal society and being a sex worker still has negative connotations.

Just my 2 cents anyway...
I think you're spot on. Just because not everyone is being exploited doesn't mean lots aren't. Also, I've read a lot of girls saying they're going on due to losing income because of covid, which doesn't suggest it's exactly first choice of career.

I'm not gonna say "get a real job", but "get an alternative job" is a valid riposte I think.
I'm always suprised at the amount of people who chose an insecure gig then proceed to put all their eggs in one basket then bemoan when something affects it.

Just like the youtube "adpocalypse" people are complaining and equating it to a permie job and saying it's the same as an employer cutting your pay overnight. If you want a regular guaranted income you need to get a job with a contract.

It's all this wanting their cake and eating it too I can't get onboard with. I say this as a freelancer myself.

I wonder if only fans type stuff has had its peak? Apparently most of the money is made by a few famous / infamous people at the top and the rest don't make much. Maybe with so much competition now those at the top now won't be able to get those to transfer to a new platform?

If the idea of being paid to strip off for a sad old perv while he stands there whacking one out disgusts you in real life, then don't do it online. It's no more dignified really! It is safer to be behind a screen than in person I guess, but it's still the same dirty sods looking at you 😖 no thanks

The woman I know of who lives near me and has done OF for a couple of years now, she always said that she would never do escorting. But I’ve just had a sneaky look at her Adult Work profile and she is now taking in calls at her family home!! Her poor son and daughter. I despair, I really do. This is the path OnlyFans puts these women on.

I can’t get my head around men pay to subscribe to these things (it’s mainly men) when you can see pictures and videos of naked woman all over the Internet for free. I don’t get it
Agreed. That's my main thought on it as well. How have people gone back to being willing to pay for porn when it's just not remotely neccessary these days?
