Anyone else was on Popmundo? I just had a blast from the past, this was a thing around 2007, mind you, so not talking about "early internet". It was like a music industry text based game, you would sign up, make a character and build your band up through ranks etc. Spent a good year or two on it until my interest fizzled out lol

I have such vivid memories of playing it in the ‘IT suite’ aka school kitchen complete with some computers that was also haunted 
ETA: Stardoll and Neopets were the best. I still play Neopets. Never lost my skill at Ice Cream Machine or Hasee Bounce
My parents got our first computer when I was about 8 in the early 2000’s. They had no idea what kind of crazy sites my brother and I would go on as kids.

I was obsessed with Stardoll. But then found loads of creepy profiles that would write sex stories and looking back now was probably old men using it
My all time favourite was rathergood.com I can’t even explain the types of videos on there? Can anyone else remember?

Does anyone remember the Million Dollar Homepage? This college student set it up to help pay for his college fees, and it was just a single page with thousands of click through adverts, that he sold space for - genius idea when you think about it! (For its time anyway!)
I think it was Lycos and you could send one free text message to someone.

It was basically another version of habbo hotel I feel like no one ever remembers it, my brother was massively into habbo at the time and I was a bit too young but I used to beg him to let me go on it music as you could make your own songs haha, but for some reason it was not online or you couldn’t log in at certain times, my brother said it was because of the time difference in America or maybe this was to leave him alone, anyway it was good but disappeared pretty quickly.

I used to use this to play pointless games like falling girl, the sand game, iGod and The Torture Game. Was a good way to pass time but I just tried to find it and it looks like it closed down a few years ago.

mouse breaker.com - loads of flash games!
Runescape - free online multiplayer, spent so many hours on this despite not really knowing what I was doing. It’s still going today I keep meaning to check it out.
I used to love the games on the cbbc website, especially the Tracy Beaker ones where you could design your own bedroom and stuff.
Denis Lewis Heptathalon on bbc sport was a really addictive game and one of the few games we could play on the school computers. BBC really did have some legendary games on their website back in the day.
At school we used to go on a website called footie.net. You could design your own football kits, boots and I think even a stadium, but you got given criteria you had to meet. It was so fun!
I sketch was great fun, really innovative for its time.
I had a piczo site and I still remember the url for it, so cringe. Everyone just used to write about themselves and what their favourite things were and people would have counters on their sites so it became a bit of a popularity contest over who had the most ‘clicks’ even though all our websites were full of boring tit and glittery gif

Along with the usuals that have been mentioned like habbo hotel, bebo & eastenders game etc a group of me and my girlfriends would go on HotOrNot I had a profile and thinking back now far too many seedy men messaging my school age self 
I would also go on a site where you play games against a few others in a room like scrabble or boggle etc and you could all chat, there were juts chat rooms too where I would get a new boyfriend every week

My sister was excellent at creating code for MySpace pages. It actually got her into her very successful career

I’ve just remembered another one. SwapitShop.com. Very similar to eBay but aimed at kids/teens. You sold and bid on things with ‘swap it points’ rather than actual money and your profile had a rating based on how reliable you were as a seller. It was actually legit, I remember getting grand theft auto vice city and San Andreas for ps2 off of there and I ‘sold’ a few of my own things too. Items were sent to their offices to be sent on from there to the winners so it was quite safe in that your address was never shared with other users. Now I need to go and find out what happened to that website.
