Does anyone else remember those sites for the Nokia phones where you could send a logo for you screen. Or the sites where you would spend ages typing in a sequence for a ring tone

I had the Harry Potter theme tune as my ringtone and it went off in school and I got my phone confiscated haha

Moki Town, it was quite similar to Habbo Hotel, I’d spend hours on it and it was back when internet was the dial up and every time I’d come off it my mum would ring up shouting at me saying she’s been trying to ring all day

Myspace, spending hours finding the perfect background saver for your profile and what song to put on which would play when people visited your page. I remember breaking up with my boyfriend and finding a heartbroken song to put on hoping he’d hear it

Msn, the amount of emojis I had saved for words the word ring would be a picture of a ring, bye I’d have a little emoji waving etc. I remember having a code I’d enter and I could send the nudge button as many times as I wanted straight after one another. People would get so mad at me and the one that would pop up on your screen and it be some woman laughing or a boy sticking his tongue out

Eastenders the dressing up game and they also had another where you could create your own scenes

There were two websites way, way back in the late 1990s/early 2000s that I absolutely loved called Yesterdayland and x-entertainment. They were the ultimate nostalgia junkie paradise. They were US based so not a lot for anyone who wanted UK stuff but still so fascinating. I would spend hours on them.

I really miss the way Youtube used to be before Influencers were a thing. It was so much more varied but now everyone just copies each other and I'm so bored of that.

Forums in general being more of a thing before the rise of Facebook/Twitter/Insta are another loss I mourn and before that mailing lists. I used to interact with people so much more and while there was still a load of wanky nonsense out there I so miss in depth, long threaded conversations.

I've been online since about 2000 and it has changed so much, and I have to admit I don't really like it anymore and just use it out of habit.

I’m sure I had some disk games that came in cereal boxes, they were Disney. There was a lion king typing game which taught you how to touch type, a Hercules one which I never completed.

I've probably described it terribly but it was quite amusing to 16 year old me.

CBBC Roar game where you ran your own zoo and collected codes off the tv show to unlock more animals!

On the Bratz website there was a game where you had to look after fish in a tank and feed them etc. A vague memory this one.

I came across it one day, thought it was good for a laugh, then there was a small cadre of posters (who seemed to generate 90% of the forum traffic) laughing at a Barry's claim that his Vauxhall had 180bhp.

My first post was to point out that the car was crap but it was very possible to have 180bhp from the 2.0 XE red top installed in the car - even if this particular engine didn't make anything like it. The cadre then rounded on me with a version of a pile-on, saying that I was the Barry's mate and it was impossible to get 180bhp from that engine. My second post, discussing the merits of cams, timing, flow optimisation and throttle bodies and linking to the SBD website showing 240bhp from a 1.6 engine got me a ban for daring to not genuflect at the website's inner circle.

I realised that they were a bunch of puffed-up goons who had a little self-support group going on and left them to it. The leader of the pack thought that he was a pretty big deal because he had an MX5 with an aftermarket turbo attached.

I'd go on when my friends were round and we would post our MSN usernames and get added by dozens of men, mostly from Turkey (??) many who would proceed to masturbate on webcam to a group of 14 year old girls. Haven't thought about that site for years but I don't like the feeling I get when I do. Definitely a lot of p*dophile activity.

They were always from Turkey creeps me out thinking about it. I used a music platform called bearshare when I was 14 and random people could message you. They were ALWAYS older Turkish men

At the time we all thought it was absolutely hilarious but thinking back on it now I'd be horrified if any child was on that site! My family weren't internet savvy at all and I used to look at all sorts! Sadly I'm sure plenty of sites like that still exist, just on darker places on the internet.

I've never fancied going to Turkey and I'm sure these men had a big hand in it
