What would it have taken to actually clean any of those before taking the pictures. Even the plastic shoes are gross and the jacket, could have washed it🤢
You would think a "professional" IGr would know how to take images without shadows, they do disguise a lot.
Didn't she even say her nanny does kid related tasks like washing? Chuck these in with those jobs ffs

@Hootyhoot you are on the money.
I don't feel sorry for them because they literally blew the money on tit when other business owners would invest money back in or live a frugal.
lifestyle.
At least Brett can go back to selling cars.

Absolutely not surprising about Abielle. Although it’s a bit sad for them, especially Brett since he went full time with it hoping to make it into something…but even with it not being a surprise given all the chat in here and all the sales, total rebranding fail, double wick drama etc it sort of comes across quite sudden to me? Like, they’ve been doing that random kindness sale this week (to add to all the sales they’ve been doing every week 🙃) which Ellie was fizzing about in stories with the gift vouchers and rings whatever and then talking about discontinuing certain fragrances so it seems kind of random and sudden?
I’m just surprised Ellie hasn’t alluded to it before now…

This lady irritates me with her god complex. These weren’t being “thrown away”, they were donated to an op shop. She always goes on about how she’s saving so much clothes from landfill etc when the stuff she buys would just be bought by other people, not be sent to landfill. Like you do you with your business but no need for the whole god complex thing she does.
She has been discussed on here before and often comments on some influencers posts on her business page.

Agreed - like they couldn't pay the warehouse bill and they have been given notice..... that kind of thing

My guess is they got news today about something that was the final straw ? Not even 24 hours ago she posted about working on branding?

Absolutely not shocked about Abeille. They’re paying a few salaries as well so that’s extra pressure.
I’m so confused (not shocked) Bec she was on her stories yesterday saying she was streamlining the branding and website?

Can’t be all bad, she’s making a new business plan for something else already.
I hope she can at least spell this one’s name correctly….

I thought you guys were joking when you said Danni Duncan was going to be shooting weddings on her iPhone!?! You weren’t! Shes off to look at an iPhone because it’s highly likely she’s going to get wedding bookings and wants to make sure her phone has good specs cos that’s what she’ll shoot it on. I cannot.

Yep and these people are donating the right way I.e. clean, easily sellable items to the op shop. I get what she means but poor choice of words.

And Yep agree 90% of what she buys would probably sell easily locally. But it is still a helpful service to some people but be realistic about the service u r providing and not sanctimonious for sure.

Ooft, while it was obvious Abielle wasn't going to last a lot longer, I didn't expect them to close this suddenly with zero warning. Something significant must have happened overnight/this morning, with my prime suspicions being:
A) They made very few sales on the first day of that promo (likely) despite the huge amount of prizes, which prior to the re-brand was really successful for increasing sales, so that not working meant they just want to give up...
or B) They've found out about some sort of investigation into complaints about their product quality/product safety/advertising practices or even just an investigation by somewhere like IRD/WorkSafe/ACC/etc, that is making them really anxious... like something around the fire hazards of the double wicks, or the (illegal) way they originally ran the lottery ticket ring give aways, or false advertising ('environmentally friendly' is a complete joke), or a combination of multiple complaints.

Personally feel like it's a combination of both... it just doesn't make sense to ENTIRELY walk away from the business and product if Bretts put in that much time 'perfecting' the candles, instead of just significantly downsizing and going back to basics, only having themselves as staff, and having a much smaller workspace.... But in saying that, it really wouldn't surprise me if all their mistakes/white lies/cheap redesign/overpricing before backtracking/etc/etc lost a lot of their previously loyal customers, making it not worth running at all... I have tried a couple of their candles years ago and actually loved them, but there was no way I could continue to support them when their core values were lost and everything went bits up... and more than anything, I can't support a business that cries about how little profit they're making and how hard running a business is, while simultaneously buying completely unnecessary wasteful rit you already have excessive amounts of every single day!?!

Maybe this will be the wakeup call Ellie needs to sort her spending out, because I can't see her wanting a 'real job'. And please dear god, don't start a new business just because you can, with zero business strategy...

I feel for them with the candle business, no one wants a business to fail, and I wonder if they had bad advice. I know someone who lost her home to pay off debts and she'll probably never own again due to bad decisions.

Candles are probably a hard market too... hard to trump companies like Ecoya/Glasshouse and all the others sold in stores like Farmers etc.

I wonder if Ellie's dad will have a job for her back at the Health food place? Brett can go back and sell cars I'm sure.

I kinda feel like it must be something big for them to just close. Ellie could have stepped away and not drawn a wage and smashed her influencing, they could have down sized, they could have stopped buying diamond rings to give away. They could have sold the business or tried to?
And now straight into starting something else? Seems odd

I feel sorry for Abeille shutting down. Not sorry enough to have spent the $60+ on a single candle. The lure of rings etc didn't entice me to want to buy one when It's not a guarantee to win one. I feel they should of lowered their price, forgot all the gimmicks and just focused on making candles.
Times are tough for everyone, businesses included, but they need to understand putting prices up isn't helping. Jo public will stop spending on extras before they don't buy a loaf of bread.
