Im not pro independence but feel that the SNP are the only party who truly care and represent Scotland atm. If there was another referendum I dont think Id vote yes.
Ive never voted SNP before. Ive always voted Labour in the past but I dont feel that Labour in Scotland are doing enough anymore and Labour at Westminster, are they there? Kier could have died and I feel there would be no difference.
Douglas - I hate gypsys - Ross would become a human caterpillar with Boris if it guaranteed him any sort of power and Id never vote Tory anyway.
I think Im gonna go SNP for my MSP then Green for the list vote. I think thats the best tactical I can where I am (built up area) to keep the Tories out.
Politically Im a socialist so it makes sense to vote SNP. We as a family are paying more tax in Scotland than we would anywhere else and I dont begrudge it, Id pay more if it was required and on what we earn I see it as fair.
It makes me so sad to see comments on social media that people are voting Tory who have never voted Tory to try to reduce the SNPs hold. Im an 80s child and obviously didnt live through the Thatcher era really but the effects of her reign can still be seen in my region and probably all over Scotland tbh.
Unionists are so for Westminster and the union but you only need to look at how Westminster have treated N.I, especially with all the Brexit bollocks. They do not care about Scotland or N.I. They dont have our interests at heart so to be so loyal to people who dont give a fuck is painful to watch.
I dont consider myself a unionist or a nationalist so dont @ me spouting hate.
Sorry that was super long. I didnt mean it to be.
What other things do SNP offer apart from independence? (I know this may seem sarcastic but I’m genuinely curious as I’m from England and all I’ve ever heard of the SNP is in relation to independence)
One thing off the top of my head I can think of is the Carers Allowance uplift. They give an additional payment twice a year to Carers.
These are carers who get £67.60 per week for caring for a disabled person for 35 hours per week or more. Who can only earn £128 per week or there Carer's Allowance is stopped. That was a policy implemented by the SNP.
Also from this year parents who earn under a certain amount will get £10 or £20 per week per child additional payment. I dont know the full ins and outs of this. I think its if you receive a means tested benefit.
Band 7s or below in the NHS got a decent pay rise this year.
