People don’t tend to set up a play date 30 min before killing themselves.
People don't tend to tell everyone that they are thinking of ending their lives though ... that's why it's usually a massive shock to their loved ones when they do. Apologies if I've offended anyone by this as well.

If you have Facebook look on lancs live there is a video shared from a newsreporter. It’s so sad I just feel now even if she isn’t in the river, she won’t be found alive

From what I’ve read the gate was the point when the harness was removed at the start of walk and put back on at the end, usually at the bench.
It seems as though this was about to happen, maybe Nicola had put her phone on the bench and was about to re harness willow… what happened sfter that minute is the mystery

No, but it’s not always the case that friends/family are aware of any stresses or mental health issues. Mental health creeps up on you I have been a victim of it myself and I used to conceal it very well.
As have I and perhaps that’s why I don’t feel comfortable speculating about her MH.

Genuine question, have her friends, family or the police said she was not thinking straight at the time, had MH issues, or even under any stress?
No nothing. There’s an article on her dads interview and he said she had made a good deal at work with a high up customer or something along those lines and she was in good spirits about it. Also planned a spa day with her sister and she’s also planned a play date with a friend I think. They said she was happy and it wouldn’t be like her to go missing. That’s all I can remember off the top of my head

And (and this is speculating in itself, the irony doesn’t go over my head) if she did have a history of MH problems, or she’d been acting unusually the media would be ALL over it, painting a picture of a tortured woman in her final moments. I don’t buy the MH theory.

Sorry you’ve lost me there, how am I speculating on her MH?

Edit. I misread your comment, my apologies x

Absolutely, Only Nicola being found alive and her being able to explain whatever the truth is of what happened would provide the absolute facts for her family.

A body found - unanswered questions
A body not found - unanswered questions
Exactly. Even if they do find her in the water there will always be the question for the family of how she ended up in there and unless she has a clear injury then no one will ever know. I’m thinking of all those boys who drowned in the canals around Manchester.

Well thousands of people have just died or remain under the rubble in Turkey and Syria..
Not to mention Bennylyn Burke trial; three children stabbed; and an apparent murder-suicide including a 7 year old 😔

Awful news day.

I wouldn't expect any new headlines for Nicola until there’s a big update.

Yes. Unless there’s a big new development, I really think this case should slide down into the margins for a bit..

It really is a heart wrenching case. Every notification I get from sky news my heart skips a beat wondering if it'll be her.

Having had a close family friend go missing, thankfully found after a few days, the police will have enquired about MH etc. In our case mountain rescue aided the search, and we couldn't have been more thankful. I hope this "specialist" isn't providing false hope to a family who will want even the slightest bit to hold on to

Hi, new to this thread. Started following this case yesterday. It was really confusing at first and baffling as so much speculation online. But I've been reading into the witnesses and what the police have so far and I'm a lot more in the loop now. This case for some reason, has touched me a lot. I could not sleep a wink last night thinking about it. I cannot imagine how her family and friends must be feeling, especially her little girls who will just want their mummy 😭😭. All I could see when trying to sleep was that bench and her somewhere in that river and her poor dog frantic not knowing where their owner was.

I'm trying to stick with what the police say now but yesterday my mind was wandering going over time being autistic and adhd thinking about what could've happened to her.

It's a truly, deeply upsetting situation with such a strong public interest.

She has obviously fell in and it's a freak accident.

It would be a relief to find her alive, but after so long, the chances of that are extremely slim which is devastating for her loved ones. I just hope they can find her body and give her family some closure.

So very sad.
