Recap of what we know from police statements and news updates:

• It was normal for Nicola to park at school, drop her daughters off, and start the walk from there.
• The map shows location of sightings of Nicola.
• The photo of the river bank shows the drop down to the water. The police diver had to be helped out by 2 people.
• Nicola’s phone, along with her dog Willow’s harness and lead, were found on or near the bench shown in top left of the photo.
• Willow was dry when found so hadn’t been in the water - any dog owners will know that this does not mean that she did or didn’t see Nicola in the water. It simply means that the dog did not go in.
• Willow wasn’t wearing her harness and that was normal on a walk, it was usually removed along with the lead for that part of the walk.
• They didn’t usually take a ball but it’s not certain that they didn’t on this day.
• Willow was found agitated, running between the bench and gate to the field.
• A family friend has shared a post on Facebook clarifying that Nicola’s partner was working from home, where they have CCTV, which rules him out in any suspicion of foul play. The fact he answered his phone at home would also be able to be used as proof of his location, if necessary.
• Nicola’s partner has never been a suspect and the Police have been clear from the beginning that this is a missing person enquiry.
• Nicola’s family are keeping all possibilities open in the hope of Nicola’s safe return, which is absolutely understandable.

The police have stated that the most likely situation is that Nicola has sadly somehow entered the water.

Nicola was wearing a coat, long gilet, and wellies, which would quickly weigh you down in water and be extremely difficult to remove.

If this is the case, it is likely to be some time until her body is found. The undercurrents are strong, the water there is dangerous, and the depth reaches ~18ft at high tide.

It’s easy to get carried away when posting online, so please let’s all remember that there is a missing person in the middle of this.
A daughter. A partner. A sister. A mum.

I respect your opinion, but bloody hell, I hope those beautiful girls never ever EVER hear "what if your mum never wanted or cared about you"
I truly believe it was an accident, no other reason, no foul play, no suicide, just an accident and she's in water and she'll be recovered and laid to rest soon, and I hope her children have many memories of their mummy and how much mummy loved them.

Even if it was suicide, it doesn’t for a single second mean she didn’t love her children with every ounce of her being

Can I just say, coming from a family that has been in the news due to a tragic accident, the wait is fucking awful, the day my nephew was found I was walking home and literally collapsed in the street with relief, he was no longer out there, he had come home to us (I'm not very good at getting my thoughts down), we obviously knew the outcome, we were just waiting for him, I hope she's found soon, deep down I think the family do know she went into the river and my love and hugs go out to them x

Any thoughts on why she stopped posting on SM at the beginning of December ? Not even a Christmas pic of the kids.

It might just be that she took a step back from SM. I used to post a lot and then one day I though “fuck it, do I really want everybody to know what I am doing”

I have not read the last thread but have been keeping up with the search for Nicola. I don’t think there is anything suspicious or complicated about this. I think she unfortunately just slipped into the river and drowned. No matter how much for strong swimmer she is, she could’ve got tangled in branches or the shock itself could’ve confused her. I imagine that water would be freezing and coupled with heavy clothes would equal disaster. How long would it take to drown? A minute? She probably had less than that to get to the surface as she would’ve blacked out. I think Willow’s distress points to this as well. The pacing back and forth to the bench may have been her way of saying something happened in the water. Equally, she may have been the one to knock or pull the harness off the bench.

The thing with humans is sometimes we want something to be complicated and full of twists and turns, especially us true crime fans. I certainly enjoy the podcast episodes where nothing is as it seems. Sometimes we go looking for things that are not there to be found as a theory is incorrect. The long and short of it is that sometimes that doesn’t happen. Sometimes it’s just a simple explanation. This happens probably every day People accidentally drown, fall down hills on hiking trails and suffer other unfortunate accidents.

I hope she is found soon but it could be weeks. I have no idea of what that river is like underwater but if she is caught in dense tree roots it may take a while to find her, if ever at all. Murky water could hinder dive teams. If her body floated downstream it could take a few days or weeks for gases to cause her to float to the surface but I’m unsure of whether waterlogged clothing would have an effect on this.

I just feel terribly sad for the family. Most of all her two beautiful little girls who just wanted to hug their mummy at the end of a long day at school.

When I was around 17 me and my Friend decided to swim in a river She said to me once in to swim fast so your not caught by the current I didn't really think anything of it. It was a sunny day and it didn't look fast the river. Anyhow I got in and I swam ditectly into this current i didnt have the strength to swim out of it. I could not believe how fast it was and very quickly had an oh shit moment. I was terrified It was just pulling me down the river and I couldn't stop myself at all. Luckily futher up it widens and boats were docked I went under about three before I managed to grab the rope on one and pull myself in. It's just to say how quick things happen in water and if your as naive as me I was shocked the strength this river had.

I’m not trying to rattle anyone’s cage here but I am confused. Is it worth clarifying exactly what this thread is for? I am genuinely interested in the case but can’t work out why some comments are valid and other people are getting jumped on. Twitter is an absolute state. I mean, look at this, this person seems to think that google maps is a satellite live stream of the entire globe and they can currently see her dead body in the bushes . You’ve gotta wonder how these people genuinely survive on a day to day basis.

There's a guy on tiktok who is adamant Nocola has been killed by her partner. Openly stating this, not anonymously and placing bets of £100k on this being accurate. Surely someone like this could be hit with legal action.

This is because some people keep coming up with theories with no basis other than ‘gut feeling’ which go completely against any evidence.

E.g. husband was home all morning, with cctv evidence, but people come up and say they are sure it was him because ‘his body language in the 10 min interview was off’.

Someone near me jumped off a bridge at Christmas time, the boot of their car was full of Christmas gifts as they'd just been shopping. Sometimes I guess it just happens in the moment.

I’ve been following this story for the past week. I still can’t get my head around it all however I’ll be honest and say my initial thought was foul play by the partner, I’m now not so sure. I do not believe she’s in the river though. It’s a slow, shallow at most points, meandering river and she was a strong swimmer. Surely she would have been found by now. And if she is in there, Peter and his team will find her. I’m leaning towards something about that gate towards the caravan park. Wasn’t it reported that when the dog went back it was going to and from the bench to the gate? The cctv not being in place in that exact location. The financial difficulties within the family. Something doesn’t add up. She was never seen at the bench just items found there? What if she’s having a mental episode and just decided she’d had enough. What if the partner was controlling and she felt there was no way out? What if she never wanted the children and doesn’t care about leaving them? What if she’d planned for a long period of time to leave a leave and bought a cheap car to leave near the lane by the gate and just left? I know these things are rare but doesn’t mean they don’t happen. I just hope her family and especially her young children get the answers and closure I’m sure they most desperately need. I really hope no harm has come to Nicola.

Personal opinion only of course, but saying ‘what if she never wanted the children and doesn’t care about leaving them’ is something that could be incredibly hurtful for those young children to read at some point in their future when they’re old enough to google their mum’s name.
There is absolutely nothing to suggest that is the case.

MH370 went missing into thin air. A massive plane with hundereds of ppl. It’s definitely in the sea and they predicted where it could have but still not able to reach it.
Ppl underestimate the threat of water. The river Wyre isn’t a puddle.
