The dog’s ball? No being serious god knows. I just seen a comment saying she’s made contact and asking for Linda then when I went back to screenshot it’s been buried within all the comments.

Ah, I think you and I are reading the other posts differently! I’m reading them as a devil’s advocate sort of thing, but I think you might be reading them as the poster stating that’s factually why he called quickly. (I might be totally wrong here though! So hard over written word!)

I’m familiar with @Oldcat posts and writing style as we post on another thread often so that might help me (or I might have totally mis judged the whole bloody thing in which case I’ll go back to asking if the dog was wet )

It could be argued that the friend's interview about hypothesis being used with regards to a human life is going to the press about concerns. But the family would be stuck between a rock and a hard place, as they need the police and their resources, they need a close alliance with them to help find their loved one.

I can't believe the woman who found the dog/phone/harness didn't look round for her.

We walk our dog every morning on a similar kind of route to Nicola involving walking alongside a river with a similar embankment.

This morning we stopped at the side of the river and went through the scenario. We've got 3 kids a business to run and if we came across that situation there is no way either of us would have carried on without looking, ringing authorities etc appointment or no appointment.

It's hard to imagine this witness's mindset. Was she thinking at first it was a dog that had wandered too far (I see so many dogs that look like they have no owner, then the owner comes round the corner a minute later or so). However, as the only one at the scene, I'd feel it my duty to atleast explore to see if someone is hurt and needs help.

According to Sky, HM Coastguard divers are helping with the search but I wonder if they are looking in the Irish Sea or the actual River Wyre, as the police also asked the public to keep an eye out along there for clothing.

If any remains were to get stuck on such a winding river, how possible would it ever be that they'd make it out to sea? Would they not stay lodged in the river?

Wouldn’t it depend on the tide?? As the tide goes out the river would obvs be lower so you’d be able to see more? I guess it depends where the body would get Stuck but I’d imagine over time it would eventually float to the top

I actually agree with you (despite believing it’s an accident). But it’s the stating things as facts that get me. But everyone is entitled to their own opinion of course.

Maybe she didn’t bring tennis ball, but maybe found a ball on her walk that morning and played with that

maybe she went to edge of river, ankle deep and next step may take you into a whirlpool, or 10 foot deep, this time of year cold water shock could cause a heart attack in seconds

many people who die in water die from cold water shock even in summer, it can cause cramp and stop a strong swimmer

I have read many articles but no statement from the conference call participants is included in them.

I think it was covered in the full police conference. A lot of news sources only had shortened versions of it.

I can't see a Wiki about Nicola. I hope there isn't one created tbh. We could just put a recap at the top of the next thread with the main facts and the police statement if things haven't changed by then.

I have written a wiki page for her. Just waiting for a kind and helpful mod to add it to the threads.

Not at all. I’m not averse to belief in psychics (I know people think it’s woo woo, sue me ) but I do have a strong aversion to Facebook ghouls claiming to have been contacted by high profile missing people.

Maybe she is a ghoul, who knows. But she could have some useful information, no matter how it was obtained.

I am thinking about how loyal dogs tend to be towards their owners, and how many dogs seem to be confident swimmers.

Was the caravan park near to the bench then do we know? Otherwise I’m not sure how it could have seen everything.

Just fields between so I guess depends on height of camera, line of sight etc or maybe it can see the only path to and from the bench.

I sometimes turn my camera off but leave the audio on in smaller meetings so I can give "verbal nods" easier without switching the mic off and on. I wonder if Nicola had done the same what we would've heard in the audio? Eerie to think that the incident was essentially being recorded/witnessed but not really.... if that makes sense

Springers are very boisterous hyper dogs it could easily knock her off her feet if she was at the rivers edge ? but she had no reason to be , she remarked she was creeped out that particular day.

That's right... she called it spooky !!!!
