This is bang on. The NHS delays are challenging for someone in her position. But she is in a position most aren't, and that's having money available to go private. She really needs to use that GFM money for that, rather than continuing to hint at more freebies. As much as i can't stand her, between this and nat woodward's attempt to get her scan results anytime soon, the delays in the NHS at the moment are obscene.and scary.
Agree with the above. This is absolutely the time to use the gofundme for what it should be used for and go private!
Totally agree. If you're reading this, Nicky, go use the Go Fund Me to buy yourself some private care and some more time. This is bang on. The NHS delays are challenging for someone in her position. She needs a repeat bone biopsy - she’s already had one done but the results came back as inconclusive so she needs it done again under CT guidance (she says she asked if they could do it under CT to start with abs was told that it wasn’t necessary…)What is the situation? I know she’s not on the trial now but I can’t remember what her options were.
No you can't just rock up at a private oncology clinic say you want a bone biopsy .....they are extremely specific and specialised procedures and require specifically trained interventional radiologists to perform themIs it as easy as going private? I don't have any kind of medical background so forgive my ignorance but I'm sure that a previous poster said that the procedure she needs is quite specialised (which is why she didn't have it initially) so maybe it's not a case of paying x amount of money and then immediately/quickly getting what she needs? Its scary the amount of delays there is at the moment.
I thought that might be the case but like I say, I have 0 medical training .. So it's not fair to say 'well go private then' as some people have suggested. No you can't just rock up at a private oncology clinic say you want a bone biopsy .....they are extremely specific and specialised procedures and require specifically trained interventional radiologists to perform themand they're in very short supply currently
Completely this. It isn't allways a case of 'going private'No you can't just rock up at a private oncology clinic say you want a bone biopsy .....they are extremely specific and specialised procedures and require specifically trained interventional radiologists to perform themand they're in very short supply currently
Yes I don't think it's as simple as being able to just go private. I know that it's difficult to mix private and NHS care -- you can't really just chop and change like that.Is it as easy as going private? I don't have any kind of medical background so forgive my ignorance but I'm sure that a previous poster said that the procedure she needs is quite specialised (which is why she didn't have it initially) so maybe it's not a case of paying x amount of money and then immediately/quickly getting what she needs? Gosh yes - if there's any chance of prolonging life and gaining more precious time then surely that's the way to go. I really, really hope that NNL is not prioritising holiday money over treatment at what is obviously a really critical stage.I've had a needle biopsy done privately in the past. Obviously not the same as a bone biopsy but similiar faff i imagine.
The only tricky thing was getting the findings from of that to the nhs people and getting everyone on the same page - but it wasn't impossible.
I'd have gone private for everything if I had gofundme though. And not just because of the last two years. Even before that there were delays.
And unlike most other normal people she actually has a shed load of money to play with too.The only reason she is making or trying to make noise now is because it affects her
She hasn’t and will never give a shit about others
She’s in a corner like every other ordinary person fighting cancer
Welcome to the real world Skippy!
This is what every normal person is dealing with now in the Uk
Not attending yellow brick road z list events
And acting like a Princess
