Also in the intro: “…with a fabulous view.”. The way Nicki barks out the word “view” is like a verbal hand grenade.
Or the word „liKe“ when she smugly says they show what like is really liKKe in the Amalfi Coast.
Do catch up everybody - Nikki was in RAPPER mode, or trying to be & it's so cringe I turn the sound down when she starts.
In general Nikki has a problem with the printed word like when she's telling the history of something, she'll read it out in a stilted way rather like children do.
What staying power @T Rex, not only did you read the book but managed to relay the very twisted plot. I got lost halfway but had the impression she was aping Mama Mia quite strongly. Funny the lover was an older lemon farmer - fiction had to replace the erm, less romantic grave digger.

Thank you for the kind words- compared to Ruthy Writer's last prolific literary offering, it was a much easier read! (Overprice candles, questionable books- the things I do for Tattle!)

They can't sell that house cos it's not theirs to sell. It belongs to Carlos family and they just live there rent free.

I meant to include this screenshot with my post about their a-covering YT Live. It's an example (along with her claim of "I don't know how to post a link to merch") of their disingenuousness in trying to present as bumbling amateurs.

Make no mistake: Their plan is to professionally extract funds from viewers to finance the renovation of their new property in Tuscany. Think about it, he contributes a (presumably) modest pension and, since retiring, he declares he now works for her. She has given up her wedding makeup gigs.

I ain't crying too many tears for this pair. Any stray amounts of £5 or €12 or £10 or €80 - whatever - will be spent on my weekly shop and added to the food bank basket.

I’ve stopped watching their videos the last few months, as they really have got a little tired but Carlo always seems genuinely lovely to me. I’ve always thought she was from quite a comfortable family and got her easy start in TV from her family connections and being personable, rather than any discernible talent.

This is going to sound very witchy, but are any other fellow Italian-speakers surprised by how poor her Italian is after all those years living in Italy? Kylie Flavell in comparison sounds like a native Italian and always has excellent pronunciation, and has only lived in Italy for 6 or 7 years.

I agree about her Italian i guess her social circle seem to be mostly in English. I never understood how she became a make up artist, her makeup never looks great. I remember a post here saying her work is booked up months/years in advance but I assume thinking about it now that was probably her posting here. Surely you wouldn't just throw away a lucrative career for youtube

Her make-up skills are mediocre at best. I think she’s a likeable, watchable person but one of those people who’s definitely ‘born lucky’ as she’s definitely made use of her connections and bumbled her way throughout life.

@EndofInfluencers I'm not sure if you are aware there is a thread for Kylie Flavell on Tattle, I learned there, amongst other things, that she's been in Italy longer than she implies...
She's been in Italy for nearly 20 years, indeed several Tattle posters knew her in Rome in her party girl days when she was busier chasing playboys than creating "art". She returned to Australia after being dumped by a billionaires son and running out of funds, although she implied the reason for her return was due to illness when she posted a photo apparently taken in a hospital with a drip in her arm. After a few months she went back to Italy and, eventually, ended "marrying" Guido (the notorious "not-zze" ) before the baby was born last year.

Many of her lies and exaggerations have been exposed on Tattle, eg she said she gave up a high flying career in Australia as a magazine editor, when she in fact worked at an in-house marketing magazine for a casino in Melbourne.

Her patreon account still claims she needs money for rent or for herbal tea to keep her awake during long nights of editing, or for SD cards, whatever. This despite living between two properties on her "husband's" family's vast estates since the start of the pandemic.

Her mother and father sold the Byron Bay family home for 5 million last year so you think they could chuck her a dollar or two for a tissane.

Biased as I started it but the Kylie thread is definitely worth a read! @EndofInfluencers (love your username btw)

I've always thought that Carlos comes across as a genuinely nice guy, obviously popular in Positano and just an all round good guy. He reminds me of some Italians I know, very welcoming, friendly, laid back as in if there's an extra 2 for dinner they'll just make extra, everyone is welcome. Nicky on the other hand not so much. She's uptight and a bit curt and snappy and I think she likes to be in charge. It's her way or the highway and if anyone dare challenge her, remember the passport office, she has a hissy fit.

I really like Carlo as well, and think he's genuine. He's just a simple local guy who enjoys life and helps out his friends and family whenever they need him.

I checked her Instagram today, just out of curiosity and she did a whole bunch of shots in her dailies showing the cellulite on her legs - purposefully, to show how either the right light or the wrong light can make you look. It was one of those things she does to show everyone "she's just like us". Today, she did another recreation from a scene from her book, which I just find cringey. I also saw that one of her friends from England is there visiting this week (a guy she's shown before) so that must be why she did the live on Sunday......she won't have to edit anything this week while her friend is there and can just upload whatever vlog she was going to last Sunday. I will never understand why these people just can't be honest - why did she have to do that whole contrived thing about screwing up the subtitles? People would have understood that she had company coming and would have been thrilled to just see her "live". Silly woman....

I agree, this is also why I don't get why she seems to be planning to retire to tuscany, he has lived in positano his whole life, has a big social circle etc. Yes they would need to move someone with fewer steps presumably (or with road access) but I don't get why anyone would move to an area where they know no one at an age when it is important to have a good social circle and support etc I guess she probably just (still) doesn't feel particularly integrated there? As others have said she rarely seems to talk to people in the street etc like he does, which seems unusual to me for someone living in a small town

I wondered why, if it's just the steps and the crowds of Positano that they wish to escape, that they didn't find a property more close by, so Carlo could maintain his family and social ties, which are surely very important to him and will be more so as he gets older. He seems to engage with everyone with an easy warmth.

I suppose she's the buyer so she chose the location, perhaps with the snobby attitude that a certain type of English person has, thinking that Tuscany is the only refined place to be in Italy, that everywhere else is full of peasants.

I find the excuse "when we're old and cant manage the steps anymore" a bit of a joke really. I mean Carlo's parents are old .....they manage...we see old people all the time in her videos......they manage...... theres a lift being installed isnt there?....the truth be told Nicki just wants out of Positano.....she doesn't like the tourists or the busyness of it.....she doesn't like it if people stop her because they've recognised her, because the truth is she's nothing like she trys to portray and is really a bad tempered snobby English woman who hasn't integrated particularly well even after all these years. She wants out.

I'm defending Nicki, but I don't feel it's a joke! Carlo's parents don't manage.....they basically stay in the apartment 24/7. Carlo has said that his 80+ year old father hasn't been to their place in years and doesn't leave the house because he can't manage the steps. His mother leaves occasionally, but the family brings them everything they need. I honestly don't think that's any way to live, being cooped up in your house like that, a literal shut-in. The lift being installed is next to the cemetery and was installed because there are so many aged people in the town who couldn't get there to honor their loved ones. Carlo and Nicki would still have to walk up and down maybe half the steps, and it's nowhere near their house. I'm not sure what the parking situation will be like for residents (allowed or not?) in whatever lot there will be for cars/scooters for people wanting to use the lift to get to the cemetery. There was a serious lack of parking in that town and it appears worse now.

I've been to Positano - it's been about 9 or 10 years - and I have to say the steps are pretty rough to take when you aren't used to them and while I wasn't there in the height of summer when it's the hottest, it wasn't easy in May when I went and I'm in fairly good shape. I've watched several travel videos of people while they're in Positano who are walking to get to Air B&B's and the first thing all of them do as they're searching for the house they're renting is complain about the climb up the steps to reach their destination! MOst of them stop along the way and sit down to rest. In the heat, it's just got to be brutal.

I agree with you @M&MsMom about Carlos' parents being stuck within the confines of their property. It's not nice that they can't get out, although they do have the incredible view which would lessen the claustrophobia I suppose and, as you say, they are lucky to have family to deliver whatever they need. I wonder which family members will move in when the sad day comes that neither of Carlos' two dear parents are around.

OK, so this week they were supposed to upload the vlog that didn't go up last week due to them (supposedly) "forgetting to add the subtitles", although it was suspected she actually wanted to re-edit the whole thing after realising (thanks to Tattle) that it came off as entitled whining about the stress of buying a house in Tuscany.

Well, well. That vlog ended up not appearing at all today, presumably she couldn't edit hard enough to get rid of the "poor me" vibes.

So back to the fail safe "we're just simple folk" performance: a local bean sagra, Nicki making dog food, picking squash, showing their messy house and cleaning the mezzanine for her friend Dave visiting.

She also inserted the weird cellulite clip from Insta, all to make herself relatable to her middle aged followers.

Plus a Patreon plug, old photos of her and the family being the lure.

Carlo bores the socks off me now. He looked so much happier and carefree when he had his own job. Now he's just beaten down and scared of saying the wrong thing at any moment, but with a side serving of arrogant mole.

She gave me the heebie jeebies making that yogurt. No mention of making sure everything is clean and sterilised. Can't believe she made it look harder to make than it actually is. But of course she did.

Filming other people's kids and putting them on YT is not okay.
