Apparently it's an old woman name? So I've been told by the internet. I've never heard of it but weirdly enough I don't hate it. Wouldn't name my child it though.

Same as Bronte. I actually really like that name (I know) but I wouldn't actually name my child it.
Ooo not sure it’s young girls and babies round here 😂

There are some names that are OK but awful shortened. I hate Ethan now as I’ve heard ‘Eeth’ bellowed across too many parks

i have a sibling who named their two kids the exact same first names as my kids. Pisses me off every time i see them.

my ex wanted Ethan for our son but I HATE the Eeeeth sound so much. I've always had an irrational hate for that name. We went with Evan instead :ROFLMAO:

I’ve commented on another thread on here about me and my siblings having unusual names. Our father was really into Greek mythology. I don’t mind my name the older I’ve got the more I like it. My sister hates hers and goes by a shorter version. My brother absolutely hates his always has so we’ve always called him Gary 😂

I've thought of one more but it's not a name exactly but I hate when people name their kids names that don't match.
(bizarre I know)
But I hate it when you have one kid called Elizabeth and then another called Mckenzie.

It just doesn't make sense
I know someone whose daughters are Fleur and Molly. Nice girls but their names just don't go together...

My youngest had a Khaleesi in his class. To the parents, they should have finished GOT before naming their child after the mad queen 😂
What I hate most about the use of this name is that it wasn't even her name, just her title.

I’ve never liked the name Brian because it makes me think of gross gooey brains🤣🤣

don’t like the name Billy. Jordan is way too common now for men and women so that’s a no. Mia - mia’s always seem to be brats. Don’t like Davina or Philippa - just sound like man names gone wrong. Much prefer -y ending names than -ie for example Holly is much nicer than Hollie.

EXACTLY!!!! At least if they called their kid Daenerys it would be something!

I actually really loved the name Aria before GoT came about but now it's pretty common and also I wouldn't want people to ask if she'd been named after Arya in GoT.

I can't do Mia because I had anorexia and Mia is the abbreviation that eating disorder suffers use for Bulimia. Name ruined

I hate loads of Welsh names tbh (and I'm Welsh). Geraint sounds like a disease, Llew sounds feminine, Gwawr is not even a word and don't get me started on Carwyn and Gerwyn. Welsh speakers pronouce it as Carrrrrrrwyn and Gerrrrrrrrwyn like their pirates.

Fellow welsh person here and yes. I find the names really harsh. Especially girls names. Angharad, Non, I mean what kind of name is Non.
My name is welsh and I really like it tbf

I don't like surnames as a first name like
Reagan
Kennedy
Jackson

or City names
Paris
London
Berlin

I really don't like when nicknames are the first name instead of the actual name it's short for (hope that made sense😂) e.g. Charlie instead of Charles or Charlotte, Alfie instead of Alfred etc.

Also really dislike parents being the absolute most when they are spelling the name just to make it stand out, e.g. Klowee instead of Chloe, Jaxxson instead of Jackson.

Can't stand people without Irish heritage using Irish the Irish spelling of names - just why?🤷‍♀️

Then theres the clearly made up names, e.g. Neveah (for Heaven backwards) or Jaspin🙄🤮

And of course the names which automatically make you think of middle aged accountants, Barry, Keith, Ian, Gary, Alisdair, Karen, Janet, Sandra, Muriel, Ursula etc.

All things considered, if I ever have children it'll be a challenge naming them😂

I love this thread :ROFLMAO: seems that Chloe’s across the nation(s) are known to be witches - why is this? I don’t know anyone with that name but for some reason I have that impression too

My daughter’s name came up once but I don’t think that’s much of a win as it’s kinda uncommon. I’m surprised that a few people have said Erin! It was on my list (vetoed for being ‘too American’) and I thought it was pretty non-offensive

Also all the currently popular names being slated, makes me wonder why they’re popular. Unless Tattlers all have unpopular opinions 🤔
I love the name Erin ❤
