I’ve always had an irrational hate for the name Erin, I know plenty of people called that nice enough people but I can’t stand the name 😂 the name Hannah also has the same effect on me 🤣

also names like Jayden,Cayden etc just sounds tacky to me 🤷‍♀️ I prefer more traditional names That can be shortened to something cute when they’re younger but they still have a “proper” name

People who give their kid a surname for a first name.

Jaxon
Arlo
Molly
Poppy
Replacing a "ph" with an "f"
Adding to e's instead of a Y
Changing an S to a Z
Anything your kid will be embarrassed to have when they are an adult, at work and have to say "good morning Bank of Scotland, Rex speaking" 🤦‍♀️

Not a fan of double-barrelled names and when I hear them I always wonder if “Elsie-May” ever gets called just “Elsie”

I knew a girl called Emma-Leigh who would always have to correct people who pronounced it Emily (and didn’t like being called Emma)

I don’t like last names used as first names

Bastardised spellings just make me think whyyyy

I remember searching through girls names while pregnant with my daughter and realising that most end in a vowel or -y, or sound like they do. That realisation made it very difficult to choose a name as they all sounded kind of same-y
I’m so fussy though there’s few I actually hate

Can I post a pet peeve about people’s reasons for hating names (not directed at anyone on here)? 😂 I hate when people criticise names from different cultures as “they’re not said as they’re spelled”
English isn’t the only language in the world

I don’t have kids yet but I imagine it’s a ball ache to decide 😂😭 I always think it’s got to be something that sounds sensible in a nursery as well as a nursing home

My dogs called lexi... cute on a pet would never in a million years have called my child that
Lexi reminds me of Monarch of the Glen if anyone used to watch that back in the day 😂

I’ve never understood why people would choose the name olive. You eat it. You don’t name your child it.
