Mushroom Poisoning in Australia

So there will be a 20 week delay to analyze unspecified "computer equipment" that was only seized yesterday? So one assumes that what they think is on this laptop or phone or ipad or whatever else "computer equipment" can mean, is key to the prosecution. I just can't get my head around that it was only recovered yesterday, after they had arrested her (to get her out of the house?) and after getting a VERY special dog involved?

she's had weeks and weeks in which to dispose or utterly destroy this "computer equipment"? Instead she not only kept it but hid it well enough that they first needed her arrested and out of the way, and then needed the special dog?

so is it a case that they've got records from her internet provider saying that somebody in the house had been visiting kill-your-family-with-mushrooms.com, but those records only tie it to the house, and they needed her personal ipad or whatever to prove it was her that visited the site or something? or maybe her ordering from killer-mushrooms.com?

More twists in this tale than ever!

She obviously upped her game considerably given she tried and failed four times to kill one man but then managed to kill three in one go and almost a fourth man

I wondered whether she thought because her ex didn’t die previously that it would do the same to the relatives. Make them very ill but not kill them. Still murder as there was intent to cause serious harm, but maybe she got a shock when they actually died.

That’s a good point actually, upped the dose cos it was four people but overdid it

I wonder why no suspicions were raised earlier in regards to husbands attempted poisoning, he was even admitted to hospital in one attempt. I mean if you kept eating at an ex and next day you were very ill would you ever eat there again!
Was she trying to avoid having to pay out expensive divorce from her inheritanc.

It's all very intriguing, can't wait to hear how the investigation unfolded over the last 3 months.

She most likely deleted everything from her computer so didn't think to destroy it (probably wasted her tip voucher getting rid of the dehydrtator). What she probably didn't realise is that when you delete a file, you are only deleting the pathway to that file. The file still remains on the hard drive/disk. The file can still be retrieved by forensic IT specialists, sometimes partially corrupted

This IT company can perform various searches - this is just one example:

"Mobile Device Extraction & Analysis

Our primary mobile device examination tool is the Cellebrite UFED mobile device system, which is a global leader in the extraction and analysis of data from mobile devices.

Using Cellebrite, we can perform physical, logical or file system extractions of current and old mobile phones, smartphones, tablets and GPS devices. Our extractions also include the recovery of deleted data such as call logs and text messages as well as extracting data from SIM and memory cards where possible."

In Victoria we've also had a high profile murder of an elderly couple allegedly by a Jetstar pilot. It's recently been revealed that police had bugged his house. It wouldn't surprise me if Erin's house had also been bugged

During the Silk/Miller murders investigation the suspects houses and phones were bugged as well.
That was a shocking case, one of the killers (Bandali Debs) was caught on tape saying he wanted to kill Sgt Miller's 6 week old son to try and confuse detectives.

They find things like USB sticks and SIM cards apparently. I have no idea about it but I feel like it’s a lot more specialist than (eg) drugs. What does a USB stick even smell like?!

There is always a lot of copper and various amounts of other precious metals in electronics, the doggo can probably smell those.

off topic but one of my cats always sniffs out old batteries to play with. One minute they’re nicely bagged up to be recycled, next minute I’m picking them up from all round the house 🙄
