I remember a thread where a poster was going to a wedding and she asked if it was ok to wear her Van trainers as she had foot problems. The Vans were a lovely colour but Mumsnetters were lining up to tell her she was wrong and falling over themselves to post pictures of the most hideous Sandals known to the planet. Think a high heel version of the Seasalt sandals.

I don't get the sneering about Primark on there either.

In the style and beauty section everyone seems OBSESSED with Seasalt. I'd never heard of it till Mumsnet, checked out the site and the clothes are the most banal, insipid, mumsy boring clothes you could imagine. Yet they all rave about it?
That, Mint Velvet and Uniqlo. MN is frumpsville basically.

It’s a sanpro day, time for some salty nibbles and choc to ease those iffy cravings. DH brought DC to the park whilst I relax after doing nothing all day besides watch morning tv, internet shop and belittle and bully other mothers online. Might treat myself to a big bowl of hearty soup and crusty bread with lashings of good butter or will make Spag Bol for the kids. I hate my husband.

my life is so hard and challenging.

LOOL at crusty bread! Its ALWAYS got to be crusty bread and nibbly bits 😂

I think most of the users aspire to be middle class hence the mint velvet, seasalt. it always makes me laugh when someone asks for designer bag ideas and usually its the first few posts someone suggests coach bags 🤣 now to me that isn’t designer at all, it’s expensive for what it is, but its definitely not designer

and if its not coach bag then they should donate the money to chairty and carry their stuff around in a bag for life from sainsburys or at a push Primark

Don’t forget a statement necklace. It’s the standard answer to anyone who’s asking what they should wear to an event. Job interview, night out, wedding, funeral. In mumsnet land you must team every outfit with a ‘statement necklace’.

Haha yes, its like they're stuck in the early to mid noughties and still abide by the rules of Gok Wan and his How To Look Good Naked show back then 😂

They sometimes have threads like 'what are you wearing today' and its the the same 5 people posting photos of their daily outfits which are usually dire!

They have the same obsession with duck egg blue. Paint for the living room, cushions and curtains, the answer is always duck egg blue.
I haven’t seen anything in that colour since 1998.

A few weeks ago they were all having a collective meltdown because skinny jeans are going out of fashion (praise the Lord they never looked good on me!). There was a thread about 30 plus pages long bemoaning how they will never part with their skinnies etc. I mean they’ve had a good innings, they’ve been in fashion for about 15 years! Bootcuts/baggies etc have been long overdue a revival and are more flattering on people who don’t have long, skinny legs.

I bought a shedload of statement necklaces from Topshop a few years back. They were 5 for £5 but most of them had £20 price tags on them.

I sold all of them (30 if I remember correctly) for a tenner each plus postage. I had posted on MN about finding fab statement necklaces on eBay on a few threads…I’m sure these posts boosted my sales.

They do hate men or/and they're in horrendous relationships but refuse to take any responsibility for being in that situation.
Or they get overly invested in a man with a beard 😂

I just find it really immature and silly.

I’m hoping this is an OK place to post this, i tried looking for a thread suitable and figured this could be a good place to ask. I’m putting together a hamper for my sister in law’s baby shower who is due in August full of bits for the baby and for her! I really wanna make sure she can feel pampered too in a way because I know she’s not felt so good about herself and people often focus on the baby more (naturally) - could any of you tell me anything good like little bits I could get for her specifically? Anything you found useful in pregnancy towards the end of it or in that first period after giving birth? Same could apply for little key bits for a baby. So far for her I’ve got her some face masks and then my little coco hydrating sheet masks.
Much appreciated for any advice/ideas you can give 🥰 sincerely, someone whose not yet had a baby xx

Spray witch hazel for her tears if shes giving birth naturally!
What about gift voucher for her nails
I've been using the palmers coco butters oils and creams for stretch marks and I highly recommend!

For the baby as many plain vests as you can buy for when they are not going out and baby is constantly needing changed

There's a thread I still about, this young single mother fancied her plumber. The MNers goaded her into asking him out!! She texted him at midnight asking him for a drink and he never replied!!!! Agagagagag. Cringes me out so much. I mean can you even imagine getting a text like that from a client, let alone so late at night? Yet they still persisted to get the OP's hopes up, then said "oh don't worry it's still a massive confidence boost just to have got up the nerve to text him at all" !!! 🤣 and said she should still get him round to fix her leaky taps and whatnot 🤣

A lot of them don't seem to have encountered human life before. The sex threads can be hilarious, they think getting oral sex is gross 🤣 and masturbation is embarrassing and yucky 🤣

If half of them had a good ride every now and then, they wouldn’t feel the need to be so stuck up and spend all day online belittling people.

I should create a sex toy company solely for the bored lacking of sex Mumsnet crowd and name it “Go duck yourself”

Yes and once again, if that had been the other way round, they’d have been wanting her to phone 101 and report him for sexual harassment 🙄 I remember that thread and they just love egging posters on for a bit of excitement in their own dreary lives. ‘Placemarking’. ‘Any update, OP?’

I posted in style & beauty a couple of years ago asking for work dress recommendations as I work in commercial banking but have enormous boobs so always end up looking matronly or unprofessional. I got upwards of four recommendations for fat face wrap dresses with vest tops underneath. Not quite what I was going for.

Ahh yes...plenty of the 'I caught my husband wanking to porn and I am so heartbroken he doesn't love me!'
Ask if he needs a hand, make it work for YOU love! Or you can take the piss out if him....
