How nasty- you seem to get that on the internet and I heard that there are some spin off mumsnet groups that are heavily in to doxxing too, apparently passing round addresses and names. People were finding out where people live from the old Christmas appeals info swaps.

I was blissfully unaware until then how deranged some people are.

Did you say anything before you left?

They've banned me! I have no idea why and they won't say. I hardly ever went on there but when I looked last week I couldn't log in so emailed them and was told I'd been deleted - nothing more! Arrogant fuckers - I wrote one of the top rated posts on 'classics'. They seem to be having a cull of the old feminist board members - I guess they aren't good for advertising revenue.

I am not a Mum and don’t have children but I did used to enjoy browsing AIBU.

I know that Mumsnet are saying that they are only charging due to coronavirus, but it strikes me as very convenient timing. I wonder whether they were going to start charging anyway and that this is the perfect time to introduce that as less people will question it. The way I understand it, you now have to pay to use the website. Please correct me if I am wrong though.

I read something online today that said studies have proven that people born into middle class lifestyles have less empathy than poorer people and as I always suspected, then they aren’t as street wise as us working class and it’s street savvy and understanding people that gets you through the trials and tribulations of life more than money, basically conservative people are poor people managers but better with money.

I always suspected this to be the case with the experiences I have had, so many on MN pretend to be MC when they are just WC! 😝😝

I always seem like the odd one out with the things I post, so many ppl I know IRL have the same ideas and opinions as mine but not on MN, gosh no, if your husband watches porn then you are to LTB and if your okay with it then your just trying to be a cool partner and your a disgrace to the female race..don’t get me started on the feminism posts.😆😆 they are ducking bonkers!!

If you buy weed from someone that grows their own then you are contributing to the slave trade in Vietnam🤣🤣🤣 work that one out ffs!!! They are fucking clueless...
This has (for the most part) been my experience in real life too. The working class/downright poor people that I know (including myself here!) have more empathy to those less fortunate as we understand just how easy it is to get in those positions. The less money people have the more generous they have been with it too in my experience. And also us working class know how to throw a decent party 😂 I think the less 'real life' problems you have the more time you have to get in a flap about absolute bollocks. I would love to worry about letting a gardener use my toilet (a real aibu I have just picked up on there for an example! 🙄) but I'm too busy worrying about whether I should pay my rent or feed my children on my laughable wage.

Crumbs posted on a Xmas list thread once that got more and more outrageous as it went on. It went something like;

Sister In Law: Harrods hamper
Best friend: tickets for the box at Hamilton
Cleaner: Truffles handpicked by Peruvian orphans
Next door neighbour: the principality of Monaco
Ds: His own rocket ship
The vicar: a jar of jam once owned by Jane Austen

I miss her 🥲 I think she had something sadly lacking in her life, but her posts were always great.

Does anyone remember EatShitDerek?
She is still on there. CherryPavlova

Was that a Bay City Roller fan site? ;)

One of my kids was diagnosed with a short-lived and happily curable illness in their early teens but I never posted on MN because I was scared people would think I was attention-seeking. I joined an online support group instead and that was much better.
No an Irish version of MN appears to be a ghost town now! I’m old but not that old 😂

Booths! Never heard of it :ROFLMAO: I heard a lot about ocado but again we don't bloody have it. Or a John Lewis for that matter. I'm not doing much for my part of the world really. Mumsnet were nice enough to give us craicnet after years of pleading.

I too had an email off Mumsnet 2 times saying my account was hacked or something I thought it was just spam.
Then I read it on a news site tried to change the password as they asked and now my account just sits who knows who can access it but I cant.
When I tried emailing them I was given the runaround over and over I just gave up in the end. Then I found this site but not through nappy brands and stuff.
I posted once saying how I thought Tescos nappies were better than I think it was Pampers I may as well have just declared war on the bloody whole of the internet it went from one to another than before I knew it Pampers was the best thing since sliced bread. Wouldn't mind half of them hated Pampers or whatever brand it was I do think it was Pampers before I posted that hence why I said it.
So here I am.
And I still stand by my word back then Tescos nappies was the best until Aldi came along :)
Well, they were certainly cheaper.

A heads up for fans of MN’s long-standing, bulletproof troll Crumbs: in her latest incarnation she has an ultra-twattish thread on the go about being too posh to realise that England are playing in the ‘World Cup final’ tonight and it could potentially spoil her plans for supper for ten on the terrace.

Inexplicably, many people appear to actually believe it!
Is it under crumbs or something else?

And the snobbery about schools is off the scale. If you don’t go private then you obviously don’t care about your kids
They are just very snobby all together, it’s the same with their reviews on clothes etc, high street doesn’t seem good enough for them so they pay over the odds.

I think half of them lie about their incomes, class status, where they live etc, that’s the beauty of the internet in that people can be anonymous.

Also if you shave your pussy then your ‘obviously a porn star wannabe’ who attracts paedophiles and your disgusting. 😂😂

Also if your hubby watches porn knowing that you, the wife doesn’t like it, then you should leave the bastard and they only know that their hubby’s have been watching porn because they went snooping in his phone!

What the actual fuck are these women on? I’ve never complained to the BBC or any TV channel for that matter, in my life. Yet some of the posters on this thread have complained several times a year.

Though I’ve got to love the poster ‘Taliskerskye’ for posting this gem of a comment. A small piece of common sense in sea of madness

Haven't been on there for years, had to have a nose last night. There was a thread from someone who had opened a handwritten envelope addressed to her partner, within which was binded photocopies of passages from Robert Louis Stevenson novels. What followed was about 25 pages of replies - half were saying it was from Jehovah's Witnesses and the other half saying her partner was cheating on her  It turned out that it was something to do with an eye test the lad was going for :ROFLMAO: 25 pages of crap and accusations of cheating when the poster could have just asked her fella in the first place

At least I've been reminded why I don't go on that site :ROFLMAO:
I did exactly the same yesterday and saw this one!

What made me laugh is that she said in the original post that the envelope was written in women’s handwriting, and then loads of people after were jumping on her saying that handwriting isn’t gendered 😂

I'm just being nosy but there was a regular poster on there who kept flouncing - she always had Orange in her username - who posted a thread on Mumsnet about wanting to get pregnant without the consent of the man in question (I think!). Anyway, the thread was highlighted on MNTrolls and she got really upset because of course, she's not a troll. Next thing, she's pregnant, no answers as to who the babydaddy is, and she's completely disappeared. I want to know if she had the baby or was she even pregnant in the first place

Yeah I know, lockdown is addling my brain :D
I remember that poster! I remember her because at one point she said that she hadn’t had sex in 10 or 15 years (or something like that). I didn’t know about the pregnancy thing though. Blimey 😆

Anyone else get a begging email from Mumsnet on Christmas Eve? I wouldn't mind but they banned me after I posted wanted some help getting out of a toxic relationship! But still ask me for money?! Fuck right off! Their site provides little worth other than for people to be unpleasant to people and for trolls to post crap. Of all the businesses shouldn't a website be doing well in covid 19?! I hope they go bankrupt.
Yes I did. I hit unsubscribe!

Still, it shows that even after they delete your account they keep your personal details you signed up with (is that even allowed?)

I'm staggard at how opportunistic Justine has been. There are actual charities that need funding now not some message board where people get off from ripping apart other people then punching them in the face. There's been some good posts on there over the years, but that's nothing to do with the 100 staff members but the ones that use the site that are now being told to donate money after being a cow milked for many years.
I agree there have been some good posts over the years but not for a while. These days if you post your opinion on a thread you are invariably jumped on from a great height from some argumentative poster no matter how innocuous your post was. Far too much nastiness on there for my liking. Have a browse on Companies House at their accounts, that will give you a good idea of how much they are 'struggling'.

I simply asked if there may be any kind of benefit to claim to top up maternity pay, this was when we were trying and I just wanted to know my facts.
The answers I got made it seem like I wanted to commit major benefit fraud and claim all the money 🤷‍♀️
WIBU to ask? I must have been as I clearly upset a lot of them 😂😂😂
I don’t know if it was you or someone else asking a similar question but I read a post like that fairly recently and thought it was a completely valid question. The poster was absolutely ripped to shreds! I am always shocked at how nasty the women who post on there are to each other. And I don’t like the constant anti trans culture either.

Oh cry me a river- £7 million and 575k profit and yet those pesky loans which have been deferred to pay back .

😭
Again I don’t understand the business model but 7million came in and they only made about half a million profit. That seems a very slim amount of profit for a website, how the hell does it cost 6 and a half million a year to run it, and if it does you need a lot of 5 quid a month to run it!

6.5 million divided by £55;(assuming everyone signs up for a year) = 118,181 subscribers...is that achievable?
