I remember a thread where a poster was going to a wedding and she asked if it was ok to wear her Van trainers as she had foot problems. The Vans were a lovely colour but Mumsnetters were lining up to tell her she was wrong and falling over themselves to post pictures of the most hideous Sandals known to the planet. Think a high heel version of the Seasalt sandals.

I don't get the sneering about Primark on there either.

I don’t even know if the link will work but...we are being discussed lol:

Edit: the thread is called AIBU to think Mumsnet isn’t any better than Tattle Life 🤷🏽‍♂️🤣

I was always surprised when BertrandRussell disappeared, she’d turn up on every thread like she was the queen of MN and spout the most obtuse comments. Everyone would then pretend they agreed because no one dared not.

There’s a new one with a caravan parked on someone’s drive after they returned from holiday. I didn’t read beyond first few paras. School holidays innit.
Tbh we have a nightmare neighbour who I could imagine doing this.
She has no driveway and apologises to any workmen who visit her house because we won’t allow them to park on our drive! Go figure?!

What happened with the premium membership, I got an email about it but didn't follow up?
Any theories on why posters are so confrontational, I got called out a few times for saying the wrong thing, I really had no idea I said anything controversial and I got absolutely ripped apart by one poster. One! I think I said (light hearted thread) "all men like sex", the poster then educated me on why I was a sexist vile specimen, I felt so humiliated but definitely learned a lesson to think carefully before posting silly comments.

Once I expressed surprise that someone owned a £3k sofa but didn’t have any sort of kitchen or dining room table or breakfast bar to eat meals off and had a million people scream at me for being privileged and not knowing how poorer people live..

Honestly the people on there must wake up every morning with a stretching routine, otherwise how do they manage this sort of reeeeeeeeeeach 🙄

Another thread from Mumsnetter who split up from her teenage daughters father, shacked up with and got pregnant by someone else very quickly and is now bewildered as to why the teen has gone off the rails (In this instance has started taking drugs). They all present themselves as strong Earth mothers and feminists, yet most of them seem to be unable to cope without a man and move on from relationship to relationship really quickly without any thought about how that will make their children feel. Those of us who work with kids see this kind of damage first hand. In fairness several posters have pointed out this is probably the cause of the daughters issues, but they are being attacked by the rabble for being unsupportive.

There are a few well know and loved posters on there that troll and seem to get away with it.
Some of the posters are treated like royalty despite being really nasty pieces of work. All posters are equal but some are more equal than others.

Another thing that pissed me off is some threads/forums are completely closed to new posters. They treat it like a private member's club and either ignore you or bully you until you go away. It's horrible and allowed to happen by the so-called mods.

Whereas whenever a new poster joins a thread here I've only seen lovely, welcoming messages, apart from when the new poster is obviously only joining to troll us.

I used to be a regular contributor to MN and gave a lot of my specialist knowledge gratis. No longer after Justine's begging email, though. Not paying when I provided your content, you numpty.

Honestly I'm disgusted at Justine and the mismanagement of Mumsnet for years and it rounds it off the begging email. I'm starting something to do everything it should be doing. Who knows if it will take off. But at least I tried. There's no need to ask people for £50 when you've been making millions a year. It's fleecing lots of people that cant afford it.

Does this link work for anyone here? Please do signup if it does!

This link isn't working for me ☹

This thread is reminding me of the times people were complete bitches to me! I once mentioned in passing that I was writing a book on a particular topic and one poster laid into me completely, telling me I don’t know what I was talking about, what right did I have blah blah. As it happens, I knew exactly what I was talking about but it made me feel so crap I changed my name and didn’t go back for months.
About 18 months ago a poster said her husband wanted to move back to the town he was from originally , where his parents live. I happen to live 3 miles away and it’s a stunning little village, with beautiful views and the sort of little cottages you pay loads for on holiday. It’s 20/30 mins away from 2 major cities and lots of work. Cue the Mumsnet vipers piling on telling her what a dump it was, and finding pictures of slightly old fashioned cottages for sale, making fun of them and making it sound like a horrible place. I tried to defend it but was ridiculed. One poster started slagging off the local school and saying how bad it is and how could you send children there...it just so happens I work there and it’s a fantastic school which is massively oversubscribed. If you live in the Welsh valleys, you’re a bit ‘backward’, according to some posters...😳
I found Mumsnet to be quite ‘London-centric’ at times.
If you didn’t live there then you were behind the times by the tone of some of the snippier posters, I recall someone saying ‘why didn’t you get an Uber?’ on AIBU about a friend leaving her mate at a pub.

Was interested to see that my mumsnet bully is still, many years later, doing the same over on twitter. I never knew what she looked like on Mumsnet but she is constantly posting selfies there. Amusingly, she looks like a Bo Selecta version of Joan Collins.
Woah was your bully a "name" on MN? Sorry someone was repeatedly unkind to you. That's awful.

Also is *log it with 101* a thing ?
I imagine a constable with a note book making logs with mrs Turner because a dog shat on her drive and therein becomes an extensive list of logs

I'm staggard at how opportunistic Justine has been. There are actual charities that need funding now not some message board where people get off from ripping apart other people then punching them in the face. There's been some good posts on there over the years, but that's nothing to do with the 100 staff members but the ones that use the site that are now being told to donate money after being a cow milked for many years.

I just took a quick look to see what the comments are on the ‘leak’ about return to schools. It’s the same comments as the other 584 threads about the same thing. One poster saying how bad it is and how surprised she is, then says at the end well mine are homeschooled so it makes no difference😂.

One thing I’ve noticed is that there will be a run of threads about the same subjects. For example at the moment there are a couple of threads about how to cook and eat potatoes, a few weeks ago there were lots of threads about lodgers and the problems they cause, before that several threads about living in Lincolnshire!
I created a thread on that about multiple threads running alongside each other about the same topic and was told I was paranoid and just seeing things and then the thread got deleted and I was told it wasn’t in the spirit of the site 🙄 I wasn’t even slagging it off either, just a thread like “has anyone else noticed...”

I remember reading a thread on there by someone asking if it was ok to use the men's toilets if the ladies was busy. A lot of posters said they did use the men's toilets and it was fine.

You can bet your bottom dollar, they'd be up in arms if a man used the ladies toilets.

Pooping would stink up the main bedroom. :ROFLMAO:
It’s a bit redundant to have a toilet but you’re not allowed shit in it. Don’t you think? They should’ve just gotten a wash room if they that is how they think

Pooing in the en-suite is the same as doing it in the corner of your living room according to mumsnet. Don’t even get started on outsiders using your loo
Tbh the majority of them probably live in council houses and flats that don’t have en suites and are making up fake rules as they go along with the delusional posh life they made for themselves online.
