What’s a Richmond? <head tilt> I think I read about them on celebrity gossip.
I originally though we were talking about the cigarettes 🤣

Tesco Finest all the way for me… does this qualify me for a mumsnetter role, or is Tesco still just for plebs, finest or saver regardless?

Fortnum’s or Booths - everything else is for large northern tradfam gammonistas.

I’m surprised so many of you have cars on your salaries. Or are they mobility cars you get on PIP because you’re too large to walk?

The plot thickens! Now then now then (or was that Jimmy Saville 😬)
I think the Scousers were "Calm down! Calm down!" pronounced "Caaaarrrm".

I worked for the NHS for 25 years and no sniff of a medal. They even stopped the free Christmas dinner in the canteen you used to be entitled to if you were on call on Christmas Day.
Never had time to eat it, mind, but it seemed very penny-pinching to stop it.
(MN Chorus: No wonder the DNHS is On It's Knees with scroungers like you working for it!)

MIAOW! How the mice have turned
We're callous buggers, us mice - ask any Rodent Exterminator. We'll climb over the bodies of our loved ones to get to a cheese string.

We turn in a heartbeat if there's something in it for us.

I gave up two years of my hard-earned retirement to rejoin the NHS for the Covid vaccination programme. Look what the tight buggers gave us. I’ll cherish it for ever.
I hope you've had it framed and placed in a position of great pride and prominence in your home.

Meanwhile Michelle Mone (allegedly) trousered several millions for not doing anything at all (allegedly), as did many other pals of government (allegedly) and as far as I am aware haven't returned the (alleged) cash they were (allegedly) given.

I went to the new Greggs at the station in Bham today. Dunno what I was expecting, but it wasn’t as impressive as I’d imagined.
Obv it didn’t stop me buying some beige food (en route to Pizza Hut for some more beige food)
Try the peach melbas. They are amazing!

My biggest regret regarding the covid years (Scotland) was that I was too worn down to consider scribbling a note to number 10 claiming I could deliver 10,000,000 PPE kits.

Had I done so I’d be on a yacht right about now.

Im coming up on 10 years in my hell on earth otherwise known as my job. It wont even be mentioned. A colleague is 2 months behind me she will get a party, flowers, day off etc.
And they wonder why I dont like being in the office.

There's an awful lot of Norman Tebbit/get on your bike-ism on that thread in AIBU about NEETS. Miserable people. Yes of course young people need to try but the odds are pretty well stacked against many of them at the moment. I suspect a lot MNers would like to see a version of The Hunger Games... of course not appropriate for Jasper and Persephone, but perfect for the poor/idle/inadequate.

Petty but it gets on my bleeping nerves when they write "tee shirt" or "tee". Like they're trying to do the U and non U thing.

Kids without connections or the bank of mum and dad, watching first rung job opportunities drying up due to AI... the kids ought to riot tbh.

@Samf2020 why don’t you just go and train for a better job? I mean no, you won’t be able to pay the mortgage for 4 years and your kids will be taken into care and you’ll run up £100k+ of debt - but it sounds like you’re not even trying.

Seriously- solidarity and much love to you. *Having* to show up when you hate the place and you know you’re not liked is horrible. After I had a baby I was given a (admittedly big) voucher for a posh shop - I later learned NOBODY had put money in and it had come directly from my manager + petty cash. It sounds ridiculous but it was so hurtful - and for context I’d been there 13 years at that point. It was such a poisonous environment I deleted my LinkedIn account because I was harassed for years after I left. It utterly destroyed my professional confidence and it’s taken over a decade to get back.
