Arch I just googled, apparently something to do with seeing who's coming up behind. At least that's what reddit say 🤷‍♀️

Oh my god, how stupid is this? 😂 Surely a small mirror would be more effective in alerting them that mummy is sneaking up behind to see what porn they’re watching.

A mirror would be too big for his teeny tiny mother, hence the spoon x

Someone has started a thread to ask if this dress would look good on her ‘plus size’ bridesmaid. Bridesmaid is a size 12.
Lots of replies saying a size 12 is not plus sized, except it wasn’t long until someone commented ‘a size 12 is not slim though’

Surely, by the time you can see DM approaching your screen, she's already seen what grot you are looking at? Let alone the furtive activity going on in your crotch area?

It's enough to make her drop the cup of tea she was bringing you.

My Dad did LITERALLY drop dead... on the golf course, way to go! Sadly before he got to the 19th hole, but you know, there are worse ways to go! (No sympathy please it was 30 years ago and I'm not saying it for a guilt trip)
My Grandad and my Dad did the same! ( I’m not trying to Elevenerife you btw ).
My Gran said Grandad must have finally realised what she’d been telling him for years, that golf was the stupidest game in the world and he actually died of boredom. Dad had a massive stroke and was gone before he hit the ground.
It’s very traumatic for the people around them, but honestly, watching my Mum gradually fade away from dementia I know which one I’d pick. Ideally shagged to death in a Tom Hardy/Jason Momoa sandwich.

Apparently your cause of death will be the smell of tom Hardy's balls, leave a note for the Dcoroner.

That thread does have this comment though - which is wonderful!

Maybe I'm just particularly irritable today but there's a thread about a 15 year old who complains about what her parents make for tea, and one of the first replies is "just offer toast and cereal".

I swear mumsnet is the only forum on the planet where people "offer" food to their children. It's such a bleeping annoying turn of phrase. She's 15 fgs. There's no offer! It's in the kitchen and presumably therefore accessible to everyone living there?

The train picnic thread is very funny. Apparently in standard you only get snacks, i wouldn't class a roll and bacon or sausage as a snack... Then there's the fact anyone can take any food on a train that isn't a snack. I've had fish and chips, burger king etc etc. I didn't realise we were ONLY supposed to have snacks in the poor section 😂 😂

And then this from OP. She believes her preferences trump others but others don't trump hers 😂.

Voting for "Are you always this selfish?" As next thread title!

They go into a huge rant about laundry. OP struggles with laundry for various reasons it seems but they cannot see past their own existence of having a heat exchanging tumble dryer, oodles of space to dry and most likely living in the dry SE.

OP is clearly struggling. DD is clearly struggling. It’s not an easy read.

Neither is the one where the poster has been hit by not so DSS. DH is in Australia.

Agreed.
I think it is also one of those stupid Mumsnet phrases that they all just latch onto.

One respondent in the 15 year old and tea thread said hers yesterday were sent to bed without their evening meal and made to write out lines (because they arrived home late for lunch, and then again later on in the day). 🙃

I dread to think what sort of doubles as a barrage balloon dress that parent wears.

If my kids refuse tea they get told to make themselves some toast and have a piece of fruit. I don't offer them anything. I made dinner once, that was my offering. Don't like it? Then they can sort something else themselves. I don't offer them alternatives because I'm not a waitress doing the specials of the day and they know where the toaster and bread is as well as the fruit bowl.

If it was jack Monroe bringing you food, you'd want her to drop it so you aren't forced to eat it.
