You're brave going there in half term!

I was in the supermarket a couple of weeks ago and the woman in front had her teenageish child with her who was being so rude to her, in a really rude/disgusted voice child was questioning ALL of mums purchases. 'why have you bought the big ketchup' ' why are you buying butter, we've got butter' in a really 'you're a bleeping idiot' tone and the mum was just saying stuff like 'well done for considering we already have butter sweetie. I'm going to make extra sandwiches for a picnic on Saturday so I need extra butter' ' well done for knowing we don't usually need the big ketchup, I'm buying it this time because it's such a good deal'. Then child basically slung some shopping in a few bags in the trolley without care eg bread in the bag then 6 pints of milk on top then chucked into the trolley on top of the cakes, mum praised child again for helping and great job and stuff. Then as they walked away child said I better get at least a tenner for helping with this tit and stormed off in front. I was considering how my mum would've reacted and concluded I'd still be heating the ringing in my ears decades later from the clip round the ear!

I do hope that Mum had a massive bleeping bottle of decent gin and tonic in the trolley as well. It still wouldn't be enough reward for not ripping the entitled little rit's head off and screaming down the bloodied stump in front of everybody.

Dear God why did I go to a National Trust place on half term? The entire cast of Mumsnet were there.

“Horace please don’t get your trousers dirty”
“Oh darling I understand that you’re feeling a little pressured right now but could we just consider this painting”
“Well done sweetie, well done” (to the kid kicking off)
“Now Pernicious and Constantinople, what did we learn about (original house owners) from the drawing room?”
“No Tortellini, we don’t touch mud darling”
“Let’s just sit down and have some delicious canapés”

duck me.

Tortelini genuinely made me laugh 😁

And I hope she grounded him until his 30th birthday!

Indeed! I would still have been feeling blindly underneath the shelving trying to find my head. :(

Dreams when you're asleep or working class people wanting to be accountants and lawyers type dreams? Because I can see MN thinking the latter type of dreams are problematic 😂
Oh no the first type!
She's triggered by the fact she's experiencing things she doesn't want to.

Me too,I hate the dark, it's not cosy to me. I like brightness.

Also, if that poster is shithole, their living room looked better than I was expecting. I didn't spot any dog poo.

And: did anyone believe a word of this thread from yesterday?
I believed it, but like a poster pointed out it's yet another situation where people are egged on by posters who don't have to be there for the consequences. Yeah the person shouldn't have parked there and she didn't know how long they would be, but the OP didn't even end up going out so wasn't actually inconvenienced at all and ended up causing a massive problem on a Sunday and costs for someone. I would have just waited and then gone out and told the person that thanks to them being a massive bleep I had to miss work.

Don't get me wrong I would have been furious, and the person should have been punished (with a parking ticket) but ultimately the punishment didn't fit the crime in this specific situation!

My dreams can be wild. I have still not quite forgiven MrMoonFace for his affair in my dream, even though it was years ago (double figures) 😂 I also scream, yell and physically react in dreams. The other night I woke myself up punching my pillow, a couple of weeks ago I full kicked out my legs.

I think I may have laughed once but usually I scream in terror or yell "No".

My boss is always horrible in my dreams, I have told him I don't like "Dream Frank"

Yeah parking threads are like catnip to them, and I do think it was overkill.

My dreams are beyond boring. I'm genuinely jealous of people with exciting dreams. Highlights from recent years include: looking at myself in the mirror, noticing a single long eyebrow hair drooping down across my face; discovering a nit in my child's hair; grabbing my own hand whilst asleep and dreaming it was a ghost. A good one from the other day was me laughing at how much I was snoring.

More lack of basic comprehension:

Poster “can’t make the maths work”.

Well love, even my northern brain gets that you sell your house, and buy somewhere cheaper. Probably smaller because now you don’t need 4 beds as the children have moved out, so you only need one.

The lack of comprehension comes from the fact most of them won’t contemplate anything less than a 4 bed in the area they’re in now. So they aren’t getting how they would sell their house and buy pretty much the same house, but much cheaper so they have loads of cash to give tarquin a deposit for his London place.

Horrified at any suggestion of moving to a cheaper area “but what about my ladies lunches” or god forbid a flat, with ghastly neighbours so close they may as well move in.
