Did anyone see the one where a woman was away, got covid, and came home to find her husband had set up the spare room with snacks, a desk, a computer, etc for her to isolate... Concensus is her husband is controlling 🤷🏼‍♀️

I just spotted a classic exchange:

AIBU to be devastated that my luggage full of irreplaceable items for a wedding has been lost by the airline?

Reply: hmmm, devastated? I don't think my friend with terminal cancer would think that was devastating.

Most of them have no concept of life outside London and the South East. Who could forget the poster who was told that she should ’just get on the tube’ when she posted saying she was struggling to get to work-she lived in Yorkshire. Last time I checked the tube didn’t go that far 🙄

There's a woman getting her knickers in a twist right now because her husband made his own lunch instead of eating yesterday's leftovers.

Cue a poster who made a "spatchcock chicken" - not just any chicken! - on Sunday which should last until Wednesday.

Loads of them coming on and saying how it's always the women who end up eating food because they don't want to just so they don't waste it. Surely they must realise that no one is forcing them.

Some nutter also popped up and gasped that she would never eat leftovers from a BBQ. And that you must IMMEDIATELY remove from the grill and place in the fridge.

These bitches would die if they saw the things I leave out and eat.

I truly hate mumsnet- the posters on there will be so rude in a way they wouldn’t dare to be in real life. I also find that if you comment people will react as if they know better than you, even if your commenting about something that happened to you. For example, there was a thread about toddlers lying and I said I don’t think toddlers lie, they just don’t have a reliable memory, so will often mix up things that happened, putting together two or three different scenarios. I gave the example of my daughter who told her teachers that my husband locked me in the bathroom, it didn’t happen, the lock on the door actually broke and I was stuck, so my husband had to knock the door down. I had posters say “I believe your daughter” and tried to make out as if my husband is abusive, like they knew my life better than me. After that I deleted my profile and never went back on.

I used to work in a supermarket in my late teens and OMG, the people who used to plonk their basket on your conveyor belt and expect you to unpack it for them were the absolute worst.

Also remember a customer having a go at me because we’d run out of mince pies. It was about an hour until closing time on Christmas Eve 🖕
That reminds me of when I worked in Argos and so many people had clearly left all of their present shopping until about 5pm on Xmas eve. They’d then scream and shout at us because we didn‘t have what they needed and we’d ruined their kids Xmas. Well no actually you’ve ruined it by leaving it till the last minute.

Reading an interesting thread about the cost of appliance usage and someone pops on to say they’ve told their daughter there will be no hair dryer in winter! And apparently the daughter’s hair is really long.
One of the tightest things I’ve read on there!
It's not as bad as the woman who gives her children frozen cucumbers instead of ice lollies. My mind is still boggling over that one.

I never get all the fuss about being asked to attend a wedding! Someone was HYSTERICAL on there the other day because there was a wedding on her husband's side and he had left her to "organise everything". What is there to organise? She's being asked to attend it. Not plan it!

It always makes me laugh when theres a debate on housework division on there. And they always add in 'I do all the life admin, paying the bills, doctors, dentists etc..' does anyone in the real world actually use the term life admin, I mean how many times a year does one have to call the dentist or doctor, hardly a huge task 🤣 and paying the bills.. we are in 2022 it's called direct debit

I’ve been thinking about this over the last few days and I’ve come to the decision not to lurk on Mumsnet again. The place is toxic, full of miserable bitter people and it’s making me feel miserable. And seeing as it keeps crashing on my phone (only website to do so), it’s a clear sign that I need to.
