mine was so much heavier, and I was so worried about leaking, especially when going from sitting to standing or moving around.I don’t understand the still bleeding excuse. Do these people not go out when they’re on their periods?!
Maybe it’s just me then. Two children, both times just used massive pads, was back walking the dog the next day, visits as normalmine was so much heavier, and I was so worried about leaking, especially when going from sitting to standing or moving around.
I didn’t mind people coming to see the baby at all, I wanted to show them off each time, but I was also recovering from surgery and wasn’t up for entertaining them or coking for them/ making the tea etc.
I totally agree! The picture they paint is scary!Agreed. I also hate when posters pile on 'oh OP, you will be bleeding from every orifice, your boobs will fall off...you cannot allow anyone past the front door'.
I invented some of the abovebut I do feel for any expectant woman, being frightened by the horrible picture they paint.
Also, everyone who comes to visit - usually the dreaded parents in law - stays for six months, expects to have attendance danced upon them and five course meals prepared from scratch daily. Of course.
I don't have kids. But anytime I have visited family or friends after a new baby is born, I have gladly done anything I can, even if it's only making tea, or holding the baby while the mother has a shower or something. I don't invite myself along but the new parents have always been dying to show off the newborn.
Completely true, 100%Everyone and every birth is different though, there’s no shame in not springing back by the weekend.
BIB - It reminds me of Friends with Joey pretending to read out of Rachel's book about pregnancy and making up stuff about her hands growing in size and not shrinking back down.I totally agree! The picture they paint is scary!
I think sometimes they can be a dramatic bunch, and just pile on for a race to the bottom and it becomes more and more exaggerated!
Completely true, 100%
And getting paid a six figure salary while doing so. Everyone on MN is on a six figure salaryThere’s a thread on just now about what passive aggressive things you’ve come across/done. 80% is completely made up, you know the ones, where OP comes out on top and everyone laughs at the ‘victim,’ senior members, invariably men, in the company are made to look foolish by a mere woman and yawn and yawn it goes…well, they’re all spitting their tea over their keyboards at someone who laid out some guys cutlery from their desk drawer, he’d brought it from the canteen and had omitted to take it back.
Well! She laid out about 17 pieces of cutlery on his desk, we are to believe people came from far and wide to look at this collection of knives and forks…everyone at work thought how funny it was! MN are wetting themselves over such fun…what a load of old tosh.
That’s exactly what they’re like! Well, half the time.BIB - It reminds me of Friends with Joey pretending to read out of Rachel's book about pregnancy and making up stuff about her hands growing in size and not shrinking back down.
Some of them seem to have almost like a phobia of other people, it's quite odd. I mean I can understand having social anxiety but I'm not talking about things like being invited to group events where they might not know everyone - some of them are terrified if the doorbell rings (I remember a thread years ago where people were describing how they'd crawl along the floor or hide behind their furniture to pretend they weren't home) and see friends inviting them to do things together as a completely unreasonable imposition. That's if they even have friends and don't regard the whole concept as unnecessary drama. I think there's a handful of posters whose ideal life would be to stay in their homes 24/7 and not let their partners or children ever go out either, and the pandemic's made it worse because they actually did get to live that way for a while. It is such an MN thing to make a fuss of ‘our little family’ and I also always find it strange!

They’re so weird and negative on there about having friends “I don’t have any friends but that’s how I prefer it, just me and the kids” or when others mention nights out “I haven’t been on a night out since DS was born 8 years ago but I would rather spend my weekends at home” I’m not the most outgoing person myself these days but if I never met up with friends or had the odd evening out to let my hair down, I think I would go a bit bonkers after a while! Some of them seem to have almost like a phobia of other people, it's quite odd. Well they have haven't they, I mean look at the state of themI think I would go a bit bonkers after a while!
It’s just a parenting competition, trying to outdo each other with who is the best parent by never socialising without their kids.
