Went to read two threads and both deleted, one about boycotting M&S and another I can’t remember!
Ketchup. That's the most batshit one today.
The hunsnetters love a bank holiday. There are some nasty witches on there today. One of the huns started a thread basically saying her son had no friends and had made friends with a boy who was overweight. She didn’t like it because she thought hanging around with him would make her son overweight. Doesn’t give a tit that her boy now has a mate but more concerned with the friends bmi.
They hate anyone that
1) Earns more than minimum wage
2) Has a good job and likes to buy nice things with their earned ( not benefit) income.
3) Uses a loo brush in their bathroom
4) Doesn’t use a mooncup
5) Goes to the hairdressers regularly
6) Has a clean house
7) Carries extra weight
Actually they pretty much ag off everything and it’s always a race to the bottom with anything health or money related.
They hate anyone that

Oh wow, forum inception! It's odd that they keep mentioning men getting angry about women daring to have their own space - isn't Tattle also almost entirely women?
I think different threads on here sometimes have slightly different cultures. I'm only on a couple, and while I guess they are pretty mean-spirited (that being the point of a gossip site and all) they're mostly mean about things their subjects actually do, like scamming people or exploiting their kids. Sometimes there's snarky comments about their appearance or whatever, but they're only on here in the first place because of the other stuff - no-one's uploading pictures of random nice people and going "OMG look how weird s/he is". That said though, sometimes I click on threads about influencers I've never heard of and occasionally they do seem to be full of posters just making fun of the person's weight or something. I guess different influencers are going to attract different people who want to talk about them.
Well I wouldn't say it's insensitive but I do wonder why they felt the need to name their dog that name! I'm Irish so am allowed to feel that wayIs it insensitive for William and Kate to have given their dog an Irish name. WTF am I reading????

I'm Irish and couldn't give a duck. Not everything has some appropriating hidden meaning behind it. They like the name, used it for their dog. As I said, I don't think it's insensitive but I do wonder why they felt the need to use it and I can understand why some Irish people might dislike it. Would it not be strange if they decided to call their dog a traditional, say, Polish name? I think it's their only opportunity to use names they actually like given the criteria for their children's names is tight so no still wouldn't see it strange. No idea what your eyerolling comment is about. Both of us are talking about a thread on mumsnet.

You would be surprised the amount of trainees I have mentored over the years who clearly hate teenagers or are openly scared of them.I saw that this morning and I genuinely had no idea you could put raw pasta in with sauce….. but then I realised that is what you do with lasagne so that’s me being silly!
I haven’t seen what the outcome of the fraudulent job app was and can’t find the thread now but my fave one today was the one whose daughter is doing a PGCE and is on some sort of performance plan for - NOT BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS WITH CHILDREN
Why would u apply for a job teaching children if u don’t actually want to/like interacting with them!?
Lots if husky and malamute owners give them Russian or Slavic names. Likewise lots of sausage dog owners use German names.
We had a boxer called Manfred (von Richtofen) after the Red Baron once... my father was quite eccentric
Surely you can see how lots of sausage dog owners using German names is not really comparable to the British Monarchy using an Irish name for their dog. Anyway I find it strange, I don't think it's insensitive and I certainly wouldn't start a thread on it or lose sleep over it. I just think it's strange. Others don't. We're all allowed our own opinion
This reminded me of a teacher that I had as a kid. She was a nasty and miserable piece of work, looking back it’s very clear she hated her job/children. I never once saw her smile.
I am half Irish so am half offended.
Just reading the post about the child being hurt by a child with SEN. I agree every child deserves to not be hurt or upset at school and if my child who has SEN continues to be violent when he starts full time we will likely have to home school. However some of the attitudes towards children with additional needs is horrific and i hope with everything I have my son never comes into contact with people like some of them on there.
If MN attitudes towards children with SEN are indicative of wider society then we’re screwed (my kids are autistic).
I’ve seen threads in the past where parents have posted about “bad behaviour” that is clearly outside of the norm. Pretty clear to anyone with experience that this is an unhappy child with undiagnosed/unsupported needs.
My god, the vitriol from other posters. Ripping the OP a new hole for being a tit parent. Offering excessively cruel “advice” to whip the child into shape. Shouting down any suggestion of SEN because “OMG everyone uses that an an excuse nowadays. Why does it have to be SEN? Can’t a child be a cat anymore?”.
I’ve just scanned through the thread and it sounds like a load of cobblers anyway. People love to make up tit about children with SEN, wind them up and watch them go. I don’t believe a school would ever tell a parent that their child’s bully is struggling to cope with school because they know they are different, that they have a duty of care to the bully (not the assaulted child), and that they are dealing with things “sensitively” due to the child’s additional needs.
Nope. Way too much detail. Schools in my experience are very cagey when it comes to discussions around the needs and behaviours of other people’s kids.
Still, the OP got what they wanted. Made three posts and buggered off. People are frothing at the mouth, saying violent SEN kids are a new phenomenon, and - best of all - nodding sagely at every poster who suggests the kid be expelled and sent to a specialist school… like it’s that easy.
(Spoiler tagging this just in case anyone's super anxious about anything war-related, but it doesn't contain anything graphic or upsetting.)
There's a thread at the moment from someone who's worried about Russia attacking the UK and considering moving elsewhere. Amongst the sensible 'calm down' replies, some of the bonkers hot takes include:
- Britain is a tiny island and so insignificant that no-one would care if Russia wiped us out to make an example of us
- we can't rely on NATO because if Russia were to attack us they probably wouldn't bother doing anything about it (genuine lol at the idea that Russia could drop a nuclear bomb on the UK - or indeed any kind of bomb - and the Americans would just be like "shame about that... ah well what can you do, carry on eh?")
- Americans don't have to worry about being attacked because they're a long way from Russia (someone later pointed out that the closest points on the Russian and American mainland are about as far apart as London and Reading)
- we're in imminent danger of a Russia-UK war with no other countries getting involved
- apart from the US (and Ukraine obvs), the UK is the country most on the front line in this war (think Moldova, the Baltics and Finland might like a word there)
- if there was an all out nuclear war you'd probably be fine in Canada because it's really big
I genuinely can't tell anymore if some of these are Russian propaganda accounts or if loads of people really are this thick. I also have to retract some of my previous annoyance at the poster RedToothBrush because she's rampaging around the thread snarking at how insular and ignorant people are being and frankly I'm here for it.
