Just seen this post on a thread about hobbies and interests. Talk about darkening the mood. She'll be on another thread soon saying you should be grateful you still have a mother as hers has passed away

They are deluded. We live on an island. The only way of getting off this island is by sea or air. In WW2, the vast majority of people stayed. It was only really children who were evacuated.
I can just imagine some of the mumsnetters waving their kids off on a boat, ‘please make sure Tarquin goes to a family who provides hummus for lunch, not too many carrots though they contain sugar’

It’s got ridiculous on there now.
I’m banned again (over that ‘5 years left’ trope incidentally), but I once admitted to having the occasional glass of Prosecco (literally 3/4 separate occasions 125ml glasses with a meal past 16 weeks) when I was pregnant and was told I needed to inform my midwife and be prepared to surrender my baby as a clearly unfit mother! It was fucking awful, those bullying comments, and mumsnet did nothing about it.

Did anyone see the thread from the woman who’s husband got brought home by the police after they found him at staggering alone a busy main road pissed as a fart in the early hours of this morning? This was the first time the poor sod had been out in years and it wasn’t a regular thing, but that didn’t stop the ’LTB’ brigade chiming in. The OP also admitted that she tracks her DH’s whereabouts on Find my Iphone and she’d been tracking him all night. Now imagine if a man did that with his wife..

What does everyone think of the stepmum who didnt get her stepchildren easter eggs but got their 3 year old together one because he should buy his own kids eggs? I think its mean spirited personality she sounds nasty . If youre going to begrudge picking up an egg for them don't get with someone who has children.

A small Easter egg would probably last that lost about six months.
Is there any, "gosh, adults have easter eggs? How bizzare" type replies, the same as when someone is upset they didnt receive a present for a special occasion.

I love the mentality that after 18 no gets presents for anything. Ever.

What I have noticed over there is how the first response to a thread is nearly always a contrary, aggressive, faux confused one. As though a few posters just hang out answering every new thread in that way. It doesn’t matter what the OP said, they’ll come in with the opposite view.
I completely disagree, the first post is always helpful and thoughtful. What a ridiculous thing to say. You sound like a step mum or a narcissist or something. *walks off laughing tinkily*

They all have husbands with high salaries, they all consider themselves middle/upper class. All have substantial savings, pensions and ducks in a row.

But a couple of threads on there about eating and heating etc show they also have a desperate urge to show off their competitive poverty as well as their competitive under eating.

It's a fucking weird place.

Did anyone see the post ‘how many friends do you have?’

It took about 6 posts for someone to say they ‘have none and don’t need the drama’

They always act like it’s so morally superior (not sure why or how!) to be friendless
I would rather be completely friendless than be friends with 99% of people on mumsnet 🤣

This weekend's Dr Mumsnet diagnosis is that an overweight bloke who stops breathing at night and is so tired he falls asleep in the car and whenever his wife is complaining about him being tired is a lazy cunt who needs to be divorced.

Despite the fact that he's a textbook candidate for an obstructive sleep apnoea diagnosis.

I mean, she could divorce him if it made her feel better that he can't possibly be as tired as her as Mumsnet have so astutely diagnosed - but she'd get more from his life insurance if she waits it out until he dies behind the wheel.

Or she could, you know, listen to him saying he thinks something is wrong and support him to go back to the GP and ask specifically about OSA. But I bet she listens to Dr Mumsnet instead.

There's a thread at the moment where the OP is taking about her 15 year old son who is taking class A drugs. I haven't read the full thread but certainly the first page was full of posters saying "it's fine, tell him to only take ¼ then he can have more if he needs it" "me and my friends all did drugs at that age and now we're high earning professionals“" E is the safest drug he can take" etc.

Are these the same people who go apeshit about their kids having sugar and fizzy drinks? I feel like I've walked into a parallel universe!

Anyone seen the one with the OP drinking a bottle of wine after submitting a dissertation and people making out that it’s too much. Pointing out the units. A bottle of wine! It’s not like she even said she downed a litre of vodka straight.

Don’t forget the delicious (preferably home baked) crusty bread!
Yup. Add some vine ripened tomatoes, a touch of olive oil and garlic, plus some Good Cheese, maybe lightly grill the cheese so it's melted on top of the tomatoes and crisp, warm bread, maybe garnish with a couple of basil leaves and you've got a fantastic meal that is in no way almost exactly like a pizza with salad...

MN have finally changed their platform (not that I can see any changes) and there are people announcing that the change is upsetting them so much that its making them cry.

I give up.
