Is it math anxiety?I'm not sure if we're allowed to name currently active posters but there's one who's really getting on my bits at the moment. I was vaguely aware of her for a long time because she posts a LOT on politics threads, but as I tend to avoid them I didn't really pay attention until early 2021 when she started commenting on a thread celebrating how well the vaccine rollout was going, saying things along the lines of "you all need to stop being so positive cos the government will definitely rooster it up soon" even after several people asked her to please stop. She's actually not one of the many perpetually doom-mongering posters, but what annoys me is that everyone hails her as some kind of current affairs expert, when half her posts are just copy-pastes of other people's tweets with a bit of her own opinion added.
Unsurprisingly, she's currently all over the Ukraine thread - as I said earlier I don't read it cos all their wild anxiety sets off my own, so I'm not sure what she's saying now, but she was part of the group obsessing over Flightradar and posting authoritative opinions like she had expert knowledge. As far as I could tell it was mostly speculation based on twitter threads and her own layman's thoughts. To be fair as far as I know she's never actually claimed to have any specialist background or knowledge of relevant fields, but her posts have a kind of 'educating' tone, if you know what I mean?
She's been posting upwards of 500 times a month for the last 5+ years, so I think she must actually spend virtually all her time on Mumsnet, Twitter and various news sites - it really feels like she's formed an identity around being the person who educates Mumsnetters about politics and current events. I do have sympathy for her cos I feel like she maybe has some RL issues if this is so all-consuming, but she also clearly annoys me enough that I've felt the need to vent for three paragraphs!
Incase it gets pulled - this has just arrived. Was not expecting that! I want the OP to come back but she probably never will now![]()
No, redtoothbrush. Mathanxiety is more annoying but also more blatant about it, so not as many people seem to take her for some kind of expert. Is it math anxiety?
I don't know, while I wouldn't call it an emotional affair I do think the constant texting outsider of work is a bit weird, and in my experience when this type of thing happens there's an attraction on one or both sides.I get the whole idea of the "emotional affair" but I do wonder if he maybe wasn't telling OP about his friendship with this woman because he knew his wife would react badly? That would be dishonest but an understandable thing to do if your spouse is very jealous and won't listen when you say you're just friends with this person
Just to be straight, that second quote was me and I've certainly not got an eating disorder. I was then living in temporary furnished homeless accommodation with my baby dd that cost roughly £350 a week. As I had a part time mw job I had to pay the majority of that rent cost. So yes, I was starving and certainly looked it. To be fair, that flat had free heating, was brilliant!View attachment 1125078
Even this misery porn thread about the rising cost of living isn’t free from an eating disordered person bragging about how little they eat.

So many rampant eating disorders on MN.
Use a VPN and go on Icgonito, create a new email address (preferably from one you haven’t used before, so if you used gmail previously, use yahoo, if you used yahoo, use another), continue to use the VPN for the first couple of times you log on and post, after you’ve built up about ten to fifteen posts, you can drop theVPN.I've tried to join Mumsnet a few times but keep getting banned as a perviously banned poster, this happened the first time after about 30 minutes when I hadn't ever posted a word on the site. I've given up now as its full of lunatics anyway.
Yep, shortly after the OP was discovered to have had a bit on the side herself, it disappeared as it was causing ‘real life concerns’Did the cinema tickets one get pulled?
To be fair it is bloody annoying. I’ve got a fixed ad at the top and also an ad which you scroll past. This is my screenThere are some new ads blocking about 1/2 of the page. They’re all furious and threatening to flounce (please don’t come here….)![]()
I put the last posting she made on MN near the top of this page.Did the cinema tickets one get pulled?
Has anyone read the cancel the wedding one, where £30k that they stand to lose isn't a lot of money? Have definite suspicions that one is made up!
