Okay so I'd post a screenshot but I cant work out how to crop it on my laptop so I'll just write it. Thread on the Feminism and Gender Board called 'Gay Activists Opened the Floodgates for Trans Epidemic', Yeah I get the whole don't like don't read but it was on the active page. Honestly as someone who's lgbtq myself I feel, well certainly not good reading that disregarding the way it refers to trans people as an 'epidemic', as though it is something to be cured (legit repackaged homophobia but sure), it states ' two males raising a child cannot provide what a kid needs', ' Gay activists should really reflect on what they have brought upon society'. ' denaturalizing the meanings of terms like marriage and parenthood, gay activists and their media allies framed us as 'homophobes'.

Probably a tell tale sign OP is calling us homosexuals anyway. Man we wouldn't even have rights if it wasn't for both are trans brothers and sister and those who fought for legislature. Maybe I'm in the wrong? Free speech and all that but OP's post doesn't feel right at all, maybe I'm wrong to be offended tho?

Sorry I know this board is mostly light hearted stuff but I think OP's take is just insane ngl

There was a post on there once about a neighbour. The end of this neighbours garden backed onto the end of their back garden and the neighbour built a summerhouse on a raised platform overlooking their garden and they claimed it pushed the summerhouse level with the top of their 6ft fence.

I mean, would someone really build decking 6ft high then stick a summerhouse on, making walking on your decking the same height as the top of neighbours fences?!

I love how she proclaimed they were gorgeous unique mugs and unable to be replaced and it turns out they were from tk max. I reckon someone could have found a replacement for her

Sounded like a post to froth up more nhs hate to me.

Plus she got her mom home and doesn't think she had a heart attack and that her mom overreacted to symptoms the same way she does?!

I had a mug from Morrisons that was fine bone china and decorated with quirky styles of cats . Loved it , loved drinking out of it because it was thin and I like that in a cup /mug . It was the last one in the shop. Opened the cupboard and it fell out and broke because my husband is a fan at emptying the dish washer and stacking the tit from it . I said aw duck and carried on living my life . The end . These mn people are deranged

Not to derail the thread or start any arguments but its not hating on trans for wishing women’s spaces and rights to be protected and for people to be called ‘hateful’ for having such wishes is the problem

There’s a post atm from a woman who has bought a “vehicle” for her “hobby” and is annoyed people have asked her how much the vehicle cost. Why can’t anyone on Mumsnet ever reveal their hobby?! As if posting “I recently bought a mountain bike because I’m a keen cyclist” is going to make you instantly recognisable to your inevitably awful SIL or MIL who will definitely be reading your post. Why are they all so weird.

Lmao this reminds me of the time I went to an event in Parliament House (I'm not anyone important haha, it was just for a lecture thing) and they served fish and chip canapes - literally a tiny cube of battered fish and two fries on a cocktail stick. Wankiest thing I've ever seen 🤣

My local chip shop do kids chips .. they are enough to serve 3 of us , same with the one a bit further down, only a £1.00 !! Honestly it isnt far off what I'd call a large chips, it's about 4 /5 scoops in those big metal scoops overflowing
The fish though does differ from the shops literally 2 mins from eachother. One does a large to feed 2/ 3 of us , the other does a large but looks like it's a small / medium, that will feed one, around £9.00 for a large cod in both chipys.. the cheaper one did inflate prices tho to match the other Madness

Yknow the saying " cheap as chips " potatoes cost duck all .. it's the fish that brings in the money

£9.00!!! 😱 There's one by me that does a large fish and chips for £5.95 and I thought that was a rip off!

I'm not sure if we're allowed to name currently active posters but there's one who's really getting on my bits at the moment. I was vaguely aware of her for a long time because she posts a LOT on politics threads, but as I tend to avoid them I didn't really pay attention until early 2021 when she started commenting on a thread celebrating how well the vaccine rollout was going, saying things along the lines of "you all need to stop being so positive cos the government will definitely rooster it up soon" even after several people asked her to please stop. She's actually not one of the many perpetually doom-mongering posters, but what annoys me is that everyone hails her as some kind of current affairs expert, when half her posts are just copy-pastes of other people's tweets with a bit of her own opinion added.

Unsurprisingly, she's currently all over the Ukraine thread - as I said earlier I don't read it cos all their wild anxiety sets off my own, so I'm not sure what she's saying now, but she was part of the group obsessing over Flightradar and posting authoritative opinions like she had expert knowledge. As far as I could tell it was mostly speculation based on twitter threads and her own layman's thoughts. To be fair as far as I know she's never actually claimed to have any specialist background or knowledge of relevant fields, but her posts have a kind of 'educating' tone, if you know what I mean?

She's been posting upwards of 500 times a month for the last 5+ years, so I think she must actually spend virtually all her time on Mumsnet, Twitter and various news sites - it really feels like she's formed an identity around being the person who educates Mumsnetters about politics and current events. I do have sympathy for her cos I feel like she maybe has some RL issues if this is so all-consuming, but she also clearly annoys me enough that I've felt the need to vent for three paragraphs!
