But that you're a regular because 'naice' 'pom bears' and 'cancel the cheque'
As though fully signed up members are giving those words and they give you some sort of exclusivity and not like anyone can add those words to their first post because they've read on every single name change thread 😂

Anyone see the post about a fucking ridiculous poster panicking about her toddler being obsessed by cuckoo clocks?
The poster was getting her knickers in a twist because her toddler loved the clocks.
This actually made me sad. To think a little kid can't be intrigued by something without their helicopter parent think their poor kid is "odd"

All of MN are obsessed with autism. They're always clueless.
Actually, I know an autistic boy who was obsessed with clocks as a preschooler. It’s definitely a thing 🤷‍♀️

Being obsessed with clocks doesn’t mean a child is autistic, but it could be seen as a red flag if they also have a lot of social-communication and sensory issues. It’s all about the wider context.

Very true
I read really hope it's made up
I think MN is way too boring to have exciting anecdotes like this

Getting your nails done is another thing that they hate, it’s vulgar, common and, my favourite, is always a front for trafficking and money laundering !!
ha! In their defense, some of the staff at the cheap salons might be exploited. I remembering reading this from the NYT back in 2015 about salons in NYC: https://www.nytimes.com/2015/05/10/...anicurists-are-underpaid-and-unprotected.html

That aside, I find the level of judgement and moral panic on MN exhausting & getting your nails done is in now way vulgar or common!

Has anyone read the strange things you get embarrassed about thread? I kept telling myself they were individual posts and not a collective group but reading through the entire thread was a collective WTF!
Im off to look for it. I need a good laugh.

They have loads to do:
- Obsess over being middle class (untold number of activities here but ALL filed under trying to assure people you’re superior.)
- Have a passive aggressive fight with neighbour over parking (post hand drawn diagram to forum)
- Warn poster of their DH’s red flags, LTB, cancel the cheque, keep your powder dry, get your ducks in a row.
- dress up bullying as “straight talk/no frills advice”
- give yourself a Mumsnet haircut
- talk about how you don’t understand why people say they’re poor and can’t afford to feed their children because you regularly forage for berries and mushrooms every couple of days and eggs from your own chickens are free so what exactly is their problem…
- cook a Mumsnet chicken, feed a village for a fortnight
- change your name, assure people you’ve been here since this was all fields, go into a personal but ultimately mundane and extremely vague issue that no one really cares about after all…
Brilliant 😅

Anybody read the 'How do we fix this?' thread? GOT to be a troll, or a bored schoolkid, surely. Being triggered by sunflowers because she was holding them in a dream she had about her boyfriend cheating on her!
I skim read half of it. What the actual fuck

Miserable fuckers are now going for Beyonce.

Here you go!

Summary: "I told a married male friend I love him and he turned me down because he loves and is faithful to his wife. Monogamy is evil like capitalism"

WTAF 😲😲😲

Good grief! "Be grateful for it" ???? The poor bloke sounds like he was quite kind in his response. Very clear but far from brutal. Whilst I do think he should probably stop any contact, he most probably feels responsible for her wellbeing unfortunately.

There’s another anonymous letter one on there at the moment. Someone has received a letter this morning with the words ‘FAGGOT - Time to get back in the closet’ written on it (Sounds like someone is trying to tell you that you’re DH is gay love😉)
Shouldn't it say time to come out of the closet? Very strange

Surely it goes back to the 16th century when only men were allowed to act and therefore portray women.
I personally wouldn't be offended by drag queens. It just doesn't seem the correct demographic to pick on.
It's men expressing themselves just because they're wearing make up they're not trying to be women.
I'll be honest I dont really have a strong opinion on either way, I bloody love a good panto and the Dames with it! In fact we were out for our annual new years eve panto trip last night and weve booked our tickets already for new years eve 2022

But for some reason, it really gets their knickers in a twist on there!

my impression of half of MN is should you be stuck at the bus stop with them and they tried to strike up a conversation you’d end up moving away… getting a bus going in the opposite direction maybe just to be on the safe side.
So true!! They really are insane. I can't work out if the typical user has a massive sense of entitlement from a very sheltered life, or is super gullible to yhe suggestions of other MN users about what constitutes "normal" behaviour and expectations 🤔

I went to school with a JW and she missed out on so much. No Christmas, no birthdays, having to sit out of every single assembly throughout primary school… not even a single school trip.

Because your parents had to sign a permission form for medical treatment in the event of an emergency, didn’t they? Her parents couldn’t risk a terrible accident happening that might end with a teacher giving permission for a blood transfusion. So no school trips, ever.
I got to go just in the knowledge blood transfusions wouldn’t be happening in the event of an emergency 🙃
