I think it's crazy what women are expected to go through in childbirth and after. So many women die, are injured or are not listened to in childbirth (and yes, mumsnetter this happens in developed western countries despite you trying to tell people this never happens!), they're not allowed in positions that would help them most and be most comfortable because its more 'awkward' for the medical staff, some do it without pain relief or not enough pain relief, some are released from hospital the same day, so many emmen have awful childbirth stories. There should be more done to make it a better and easier experience for women, they already have to go through pregnancy and childbirth, at least make it as easy as it can be. Also my uncle had a colonoscopy last week and was given tea and toast after but my cousin (his daugher) gave birth about six weeks ago and her husband had to go and buy her food and drink!
