I honestly believe that if they put such mystics around food that it'll damage the child in the long run. Kids want to eat cake at parties. As long as they're not eating cake for every meal what's the problem?
The words ‘obesity epidemic’ have already been mentioned. Also, I don’t think a lot of these food policers realise how much sugar is actually in the fruit and yogurts that they ply their children with.I honestly believe that if they put such mystics around food that it'll damage the child in the long run. Agree - also not saying you have to go with the crowd on everything / would you jump off a cliff if they were, but surely needlessly othering your child from such a young age is going to have emotional effects later on? :/I honestly believe that if they put such mystics around food that it'll damage the child in the long run. I don't think mumsnetters care about that, as long as they're accepted by other mumsnetters it's fineAgree - also not saying you have to go with the crowd on everything / would you jump off a cliff if they were, but surely needlessly othering your child from such a young age is going to have emotional effects later on? :/
Hold on, hold on, hold on... someone has given a 14 month old raspberries? Otherwise known as PURE SUGAR. No wonder there's an obesity crisis. That child will be too large to walk before it's 2.There’s a thread on there atm about someone who doesn’t want the childminder to give her 14 month old any sugary treats. Which is fine. But then goes onto say her kid was happy eating raspberries while all the adults stood around eating the kids birthday cake. Poor little bugger didn’t even get any of her own cake! Why buy one in the first place?! Obviously everyone’s rushing on to outdo the OP with tales of how their kid has never touched sugar in any form and now only eats raw horse meat and grass as a teenager out of choice.
I think a lot of people lie online firstly, but also people adjust the truth upwards to reflect where they think they should sit in other people’s social hierarchies if that makes sense? Like IRL they may deem themselves queen bee of their small village / town / borough, but to assert themselves as that online they have to extend the truth. Hence why there are so many apparent HNWIs on that site giving measley pocket money out. They also all earn well over 100k and their husbands the same and have no idea about the real world.
Definitely trolling. No one on mn shags their husband. There’s a thread on there at the moment about people you fancy but at ashamed of, and someone has posted that they really fancy a young Adolf Hitler and sometimes fantasise about him when shagging their husband. Somehow I think that poster is trolling them![]()
I've read the thread. Lots of people mentioning your man I seeThere’s a thread on there at the moment about people you fancy but at ashamed of, and someone has posted that they really fancy a young Adolf Hitler and sometimes fantasise about him when shagging their husband. ‘Strapping rugby player’ ‘county netball’ =insecure internet fantasistsOn the food issue, there are the threads where they outdo each other on how little they eat in a day and the ones where they compete over how healthy their children's diets are and how their little darlings don't even like juice. Then there's the ones who try to outdo each other on how much food their kids can put away when they get in from school and how their kids are all very tall and slim builtI wish they'd make their minds up about whether overeating or undereating is best!
