You always see posters who work in the NHS refer to themselves as a ‘Health Care Professionals’ or ‘HCP’. So you’re a doctor or a nurse then? I’ve literally never heard anyone used that term in real life and I know a lot of nurses, it’s so pretentious 😂
Agree referring to yourself as a HCP is a bit weird cos you’d just say your specialism, but I’ve been in hospital a fair bit and I always say HCP as a catch all cos I know there’s SO many different specialities and training levels within them that it feels more respectful than potentially getting it wrong, I hope no one would think I was either pretentious or snobby as a patient 😬😬😬

They probably think saying they're a mental health professional will out them, same as when they think saying their DH's mystery hobby is cycling will out them. Sad cows.

It’s bizarre when you consider the NHS is the country’s biggest employer so it’ll be near on impossible to track you down! But I don’t think many of them have much wider world knowledge, if it’s not happening down their street they’ve got no interest 😬

The problem is they're so self-obsessed/entitled/sheltered/deluded they think everyone they've ever met is infatuated with them and on a mission to trawl through mumsnet to try and find and out them. in reality no one could give even less of a tit about them or their life

I don’t get why they hate tradesmen so much. They are so sheltered and so far removed from real life. The trouble is they surround themselves with similar minded people and don’t know anyone who is genuinely struggling, or on a 0 hours contract so the suggestions they make aren’t always suitable if you literally live hand to mouth and there’s more month than money left.

The farting thread is hilarious. The amount of them who claim they say ‘break wind’ instead of fart or trump is pathetic.

This is one of my favourite tradesmen stories from MN from a thread where they all tried to outdo themselves over incidents where a tradesman dared to talk to the lady of the house instead of tugging their forelock. I think we can safely change the end line to ‘there is no way this encounter happened’. View attachment 865527

So many threads end up like that! This one reminds me of a thread about 'pretty woman moments' which started OK, but became more and more outlandish, with stories that were clearly badly written fakes to make posters look good!

They often have a 'script' where the poster writes everything each person said in the conversation with detail, usually with a sort of quip or punchline that makes the poster look so clever!

This isn’t so much a mums net post but I have been trying to remember the name of an Instagrammer for weeks now and I know she used to have loads of issues with mumsnet threads about her and she always claimed she was bullied and I think she tried shutting them down!

can anyone remember her - she had a bit of a following, I’m sure she was a single mum, very anti Tory and I’m sure she used to always post about poverty and was maybe even a writer (I’m sure she was holding audiences where she was discussing poverty) but there were rumours she was actually not in poverty at all and was using it for her own gain - pretty sure there was an issue with the fact she was gifted a rug or something but couldn’t buy food? Pleassse say someone remembers it’s been bugging me for ages!!

It did sound like jack, she used to spend a lot of time on mumsnet, even did an AMA, claims to be poor, even sold her lightbulbs, claims to be a writer, wears designer clothes, but claims they were found in a skip or gifts, ditto all her gadgets and tech, has 3 smeg fridge freezers and a gazillion Cotswold sideboards, but can’t afford butter.

She...sold her light bulbs? She sold them? She genuinely thought that was a good idea? And there was another person who bought them? In real life? In the world I have to live in with them? Just walking around, allowed to vote? OK. I would like the see the diagram where people who sell their lightbulbs intersects with people who stop at the top of escalators, because I bet there's a huge overlap there.

😂 I know! But she has claimed it on more than one occasion, we have the receipts

Who buys used lightbulbs?!?!?!
Someone who is only slightly less poor than a person who sells their used lightbulbs...

If I saw used lightbulbs being sold on Facebook or ebay I'd assume it was code for a fetish that sex workers were now using so Facebook/ebay didn't close their accounts by using the real term!
