I completely get what your saying - but when santa started bringing presents, kids are not at school to be able to compare with this one and that one what santa brought. So when you start one way can’t exactly change it when their 5-6 years old, when at the school and certainly not with a ASD child.I’m not a mum (yet!) but when the time comes all gifts will be from my partner and I except for a stocking (chocolate coins, satsuma, little games) from Santa.
I work in the charity sector with vulnerable families and a lot of kids who’s family’s don’t have a lot can think they’ve done something wrong if so-and-so got an xbox or other massive things from Santa!! Knowing that really changed my perception as I grew up with masses and masses of pressies from Santa on Xmas day!!
Not a criticism Olivia just a point
Most people do how it was for them.
I totally relate to the expensive gifts as I have a family member that santa brings iPads for 5 year old and Xbox and even a piano?but they like to keep up with the Jones’s.
